Chapter 321: The Tom Group's Incident

  • Next Chapter

As the chairman of the Tom Group, Thompson sat at the head of the conference table, facing all the shareholders, feeling exceptionally pleased.

He glanced at Nina, seated beside him, and gloated inwardly.

"Fellow shareholders, we are gathered here today because I have an important announcement to make." Thompson began, his eyes sweeping over each shareholder's face, gauging their reactions.

"First, I'd like to share some good news. My daughter-in-law, Nina, is three months pregnant. And after a check-up, we've confirmed it's a boy." Thompson's voice was filled with joy and pride.

A round of applause filled the conference room. The shareholders were all delighted for the impending heir to the Tom Group. However, this was not the sole reason Thompson had called the meeting.

"Now, for the main topic of this meeting."

Thompson paused before continuing, "I know you are all busy, but this matter is of the utmost importance to the Tom Group. What I want to discuss is the matter of succession."

The atmosphere in the room instantly grew tense. The shareholders began to whisper amongst themselves, breaking into small discussions. Thompson simply watched them with a smile, waiting for them to quiet down.

"I'm sure you all know that my unworthy eldest son, Thomas, has always been a thorn in my side. His conduct has brought me great shame, and what's more, he has always coveted my position." Thompson's tone turned serious.

"I have investigated him many times. He has been colluding with many shareholders behind my back, even engaging in some improper dealings. These things have made me furious, and I've concluded that he is utterly unfit to be the heir to the Tom Group."

The shareholders in the conference room began to whisper again. They all knew of Thompson's dissatisfaction with Thomas, but they had no idea such a decision would be made at this meeting.

"Therefore, I have decided to completely remove Thomas from the Tom Group." Thompson declared unequivocally. "I will be amending my will to redistribute my assets and shares. I will expel Thomas from the Tom Clan and ensure he never has the chance to interfere in the affairs of our family or the group again."

The conference room suddenly fell dead silent. All the shareholders were speechless, unsure how to respond to this decision. However, Thompson didn't give them much time to ponder the issue.

"I know some of you are dissatisfied with me and have your doubts, but I can tell you this decision was made after long and hard deliberation. If anyone objects, then please, leave this conference room. You will no longer have any affiliation with the Tom Group."

Thompson's tone grew harsh, his eyes carrying a hint of a threat.

The shareholders started whispering to each other again. Some began to voice their approval, while others remained hesitant. In the end, however, all of them chose to support Thompson's decision.

"Excellent! Thank you all for your support!" Thompson said with satisfaction. "I believe this is the best choice for all of us. I will continue to lead the Tom Group toward an even more glorious future!"

After the meeting, Thompson left the conference room with Nina.

They were in exceptionally high spirits, as if they could already see a future of smooth sailing and success. As for the shareholders who had been expelled from the Tom Group, they could only leave dejectedly, unsure of what the future held for them.

In the office of his subsidiary company, Thomas was busy processing documents.

His office was decorated in a simple yet refined manner, filled with a calm atmosphere. This reflected his consistent work style; although he held the rights of succession to the Tom Group, he still insisted on being hands-on, handling every detail with perfect precision.

However, at that moment, a man who looked like a secretary burst into his office. His attitude was exceptionally insolent, one that could be described as overbearing.

He stood before Thomas's desk, hands on his hips, and said in a commanding tone, "Mr. Thomas, I must ask you to leave this place immediately."

Thomas looked up at the impertinent visitor, his eyes filled with confusion and anger.

He tried his best to remain calm, asking in an even voice, "Who are you? What is this about?"

The man who looked like a secretary replied.

"I am Mr. Thompson's authorized secretary. As per his orders, you no longer have any relationship with the Tom Group. Please leave at once, or we will have security come and remove you."

Hearing these words, Thomas's anger erupted instantly.

He glared at the secretary and said, "Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you speak to me like that? I am the heir to the Tom Group and Mr. Thompson's son. What right do you have to tell me to leave my own office?"

The secretary didn't seem surprised by Thomas's reaction. He sneered and said.

"None of that matters anymore. Mr. Thompson has already decided to expel you from the Tom Group. You no longer have any right to be here. I have the official papers here as proof. If you don't leave, we'll have security remove you."

Thomas looked at the documents in the secretary's hands, his rage now beyond words. He shot to his feet, snatched the papers, and violently tore them to shreds.

Then he pointed at the secretary and said, "A small fry like you dares to be so insolent in my presence? I'll have you know, I won't give up so easily. I'll make you all regret today's decision."

The secretary was startled by Thomas's action and took a step back, but he quickly regained his composure.

He sneered, "Do you think that solves anything? This is just the beginning. We will make you regret this."

Thomas sat back down at his desk. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

He knew this secretary was just an executor; the real decision-maker was his father, Thompson. He decided he had to find his father and demand an explanation for this decision.

He picked up the phone and dialed his father's private number. However, all he heard from the other end was the automated message that the number was no longer in service.

Thomas's heart sank. He knew what this meant. He had been completely and utterly abandoned by his father.

Thomas's anger transformed into boundless sorrow. He thought of all his past efforts, of the hopes and trust his father once had in him. Now, all of it had turned to dust.

Seeing Thomas's reaction, the secretary grew even more smug. He sneered and said, "Do you get it now? You don't have a chance. This place doesn't belong to you anymore."
