Peerless Medical Emperor
Chapter 306: A Reasonable Explanation
"Mr. Chen, I hope you can give me a reasonable explanation." Kojima Tetsumaro’s voice was a bit hoarse, clearly from his agitation.
Chen Qingdi looked up at the businessman before him, his eyes holding an air of authority. "An explanation? What do you need me to explain?"
Kojima Tetsumaro took a deep breath. "Why were my products pulled from your stores? We have a contract. You can’t just change the terms of our agreement."
Chen Qingdi sneered. "Mr. Tie Wulang, your products were pulled because our stores determined they don’t meet our standards."
"Standards? What standards? You’re breaking our contract!" Kojima Tetsumaro’s voice grew more agitated.
Chen Qingdi frowned. He had no desire to get bogged down with this businessman. "You can leave my office," he said coldly.
Kojima Tetsumaro froze, clearly not expecting Chen Qingdi to throw him out so directly. "You... you’re telling me to leave?" His voice trembled.
"If you won’t leave, I’ll have someone help you," Chen Qingdi said, clapping his hands.
The door opened, and a tall figure walked in. It was Chen Qingdi’s bodyguard, Qian Laoliu. Qian Laoliu’s eyes were cold as he walked up to Kojima Tetsumaro and grabbed his arm.
Kojima Tetsumaro was terrified. He knew he was no match for this man. "Wait... I... I’ll go." His words trembled.
Chen Qingdi signaled for Qian Laoliu to release Kojima Tetsumaro, then continued, "If you dare bother me again, I’ll have your legs broken." His tone was level, yet full of menace.
Kojima Tetsumaro looked at Chen Qingdi in terror. He knew this man had the power to do it. He turned and left the office, his body trembling uncontrollably the moment he stepped out the door.
Chen Qingdi watched Kojima Tetsumaro’s retreating back, feeling a bit puzzled. ’This businessman isn’t so easily frightened. He must have another plan.’ But he didn’t want to dwell on it now. He needed to focus on company matters.
However, things weren’t as simple as he had imagined.
「A few days later」
Kojima Tetsumaro appeared in his office again. This time, he had no entourage and looked utterly wretched.
"Why are you here again?" Chen Qingdi’s tone was sharp.
Kojima Tetsumaro took a deep breath. "I... I want to talk to you." His voice was hoarse.
"There’s nothing for us to talk about," Chen Qingdi said, signaling for Qian Laoliu to throw him out.
Kojima Tetsumaro hurriedly blurted out a threat, "Mr. Chen, I know you’re a giant in the retail world, but I’m not so easily intimidated. If you don’t give me a reasonable explanation, I will take action to protect my interests!"
Chen Qingdi frowned. "Mr. Tie Wulang, your products were pulled because our stores determined they don’t meet our standards. This is our decision. You cannot interfere."
"But... but we have a contract!" Kojima Tetsumaro’s voice was hysterical.
Chen Qingdi couldn’t be bothered with any of it and had Qian Laoliu throw him out again.
After being thrown out of the Mingyue Group, Kojima Tetsumaro was in an even fouler mood. He was a man of status, a reputable figure on the island, yet today he had been humiliated by Chen Qingdi. It was an insult he simply couldn’t swallow.
He picked up his phone, dialed his younger brother Kojima Hideko’s number, and said impatiently, "Kojima Hideko, get over here now. I need to talk to you."
When Kojima Hideko answered the phone, he replied with contempt, "Who the hell does that Chen Qingdi think he is, daring to oppose my brother? I’ll take the Kojima Clan’s warriors over there right now and wipe him out."
Hearing his brother’s words, Kojima Tetsumaro was overjoyed, and his anger dissipated considerably. He nodded and said, "Excellent. After you get here, we’ll plan this out properly. We have to make that Chen Qingdi pay the price."
Not long after, Kojima Hideko arrived before Kojima Tetsumaro with a group of burly men in tow. They were all warriors of the Kojima Clan, each one powerfully built and incredibly intimidating.
Kojima Tetsumaro looked at them, a sinister smile spreading across his face. ’A plan is already forming.’ He would show Chen Qingdi the consequences of making an enemy of him.
Seeing his older brother’s expression, Kojima Hideko knew he already had a plan. "Brother, what are you going to do?" he asked.
A chill radiated from Kojima Tetsumaro’s gaze. He said coldly, "That Chen Qingdi thinks he can steal my territory, does he? I’ll show him what happens when you piss off Kojima Tetsumaro!"
Kojima Hideko grew excited hearing this. He nodded and said, "Don’t worry, Brother. I’ll lead the men and finish him off for good."
Kojima Tetsumaro shook his head. "Don’t be so hasty. We need a foolproof plan. First, go investigate his background. Find out what kind of man he really is, and make sure you investigate the people around him, too."
Kojima Hideko nodded. "Right, Brother. I’ll get on it immediately."
Over the next few days, Kojima Hideko investigated Chen Qingdi’s background. He discovered that Chen Qingdi was an incredibly powerful man. He not only had immense influence in the business world but also came from a deeply connected background. This made the situation feel very thorny to Kojima Tetsumaro.
In a teahouse tucked away in a bustling part of the city, Kojima Hideko and his older brother, Kojima Tetsumaro, sat facing each other. Their conversation revealed the deep bond between them.
"Brother, I’ve been thinking," Kojima Hideko began, lifting his teacup and gently blowing on the surface. "If we could devour a prize as fat as the Mingyue Group, it would be a massive boon to the Kojima Clan’s power."
Kojima Tetsumaro took a deep breath and nodded. "True enough, but achieving that goal won’t be simple. To annex the Mingyue Group, there are a number of people we’d have to deal with, and the toughest of them all is Chen Qingdi."
A vicious glint flashed in Kojima Hideko’s eyes. "He’s a big problem, but if we sent assassins to eliminate him, it would solve everything once and for all."
"Correct. To ensure his complete and utter demise, you’ll need to personally command the assassins to carry out this mission." Kojima Tetsumaro looked at his younger brother, his eyes glinting with anticipation.
Kojima Hideko hesitated for a moment. "This mission won’t be easy. I’ll need to make sure the assassins can succeed. If they do, Brother... I want an even split of the assets under Chen Qingdi’s name."
