Chapter 216: The Medical God King

Yang Shuhua was unmoved. She insisted on taking Chen Qingdi and Mrs. Wen in for questioning to get to the bottom of it.

Chen Qingdi picked up his phone and dialed a number he hadn’t used in a long time. A moment later, a voice came from the other side.

"Lord Imperial Physician, to what do I owe the honor of your call?"

Chen Qingdi instructed her, "Someone in your jurisdiction actually suspects me of colluding with the murderer. Help me clear this up!"

The person on the other end said respectfully, "Tell me which department it is, and I’ll call their superior right away!"

Chen Qingdi gave her Yang Shuhua’s ID number.

A moment later, Yang Shuhua’s phone rang.

"Sir!"

The person on the other end said gravely, "You actually barged into Lord Imperial Physician’s villa?"

Yang Shuhua replied with great seriousness, "Based on a reliable intelligence source, we have our suspicions. The suspect, Chen Qingdi, has intricate ties to the female murderer. We were about to take him in to be dealt with by the law!"

The person on the other end of the line let out a cold laugh.

"Did you have a warrant? And you dared to trespass in the villa!"

Yang Shuhua was taken aback for a moment. "I was merely suspicious and proceeding with the investigation according to protocol. I haven’t taken any drastic measures!"

The chief said sternly, "I don’t care what your reasons are. Withdraw right now, or you’ll face the consequences!"

"But... he’s a suspect!"

The chief snorted. "The Emperor’s Physician, a suspect? That’s ridiculous!"

After being chewed out by the chief, Yang Shuhua’s eyes welled up with aggrieved tears, and she shot a vicious glare at Chen Qingdi.

Yang Shuhua snorted and turned to leave.

Chen Qingdi offered a few more words of comfort to Wu Zhong’s family. Then, he received a phone call and immediately went up to the rooftop.

His attendant, Chen Yuan, was already waiting for him there.

A moment later, a helicopter approached from the distance and landed on the rooftop. Several heavily armed bodyguards disembarked.

When they saw Chen Qingdi approach, they all held their rifles and saluted.

"By order of the Dragon War God, we are here to escort Lord Imperial Physician aboard!"

Chen Qingdi returned the salute to all the bodyguards according to the etiquette of Yishen Island, then strode up the boarding stairs.

Everyone boarded after him. The helicopter took to the sky and soon landed at the Jinghai War God Base.

Jia Mu, Yi Wood, Bing Huo, Ding Huo, Wu Tu, Ji Earth, Geng Metal, Shen Metal, Ren Water, and Gui Water—the Ten Great War Gods, five men and five women—bowed in unison when they saw Chen Qingdi disembark from the helicopter.

"We welcome your inspection, Lord Imperial Physician!"

"There’s no need for such ceremony," Chen Qingdi said, before taking the lead and entering the base’s secret fortress.

After everyone had taken their seats, Chen Qingdi finally spoke, his expression grim.

"In truth, a malevolent force known as the Evil God Sect has already infiltrated Dragon Country. Their goal is to control our nation’s wealth and, by extension, influence our critical affairs! All of you have a long and difficult road ahead."

The Ten Great War Gods listened respectfully. They had all been summoned by Chen Qingdi’s Emperor’s Medical Order, and of course, they had already heard the name ’Evil God Sect’.

"Lord, how should we handle this matter?"

Chen Yuan projected a slideshow, which compiled the secrets Chen Qingdi had gathered on the Evil God Sect.

The Ten Great War Gods then reported to Chen Qingdi on the Evil God Sect’s activities in Dragon Country, but Chen Qingdi stood up after hearing only the beginning.

The Ten Great War Gods, five men and five women, all spoke respectfully in unison.
