Peerless Divine Doctor
Chapter 2916 - 2917: Fragrant Pavilion
Chapter 2916: Chapter 2917: Fragrant Pavilion
Just like that, Ye Luo smoothly took up the position of Overlord, and the assassins at this base were utterly obedient to him.
Of course, this wasn’t Ye Luo’s goal; he first ordered these assassins to investigate Luo Xue’s whereabouts. However, the problem was that these assassins were too low-level, unable to enter the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance, so naturally, they couldn’t gather any information.
Just as Ye Luo was considering setting out personally, the Assassin Alliance suddenly issued a killing order, summoning all Overlords to the Assassin Alliance for a meeting!
This was absolutely unprecedented in the history of the Assassin Alliance; it seemed the Alliance was planning to change its management style.
However, for Ye Luo, this was a perfect opportunity to enter the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance.
Then, Ye Luo immediately set off, treating this third-level base as a temporary resting place without any special arrangements, and hurriedly hit the road.
The base wasn’t far from the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance, and in just six hours, Ye Luo had reached the edge of the Assassin Alliance’s territory, even without moving at full speed.
The territory of the Assassin Alliance is not large, and for a long time, the Alliance hasn’t had much interest in expanding its domain.
The city of the Assassin Alliance lay ahead, its soil turned black as ink, faintly exuding a murderous aura.
Obviously, no one knows how much blood has soaked into this land.
The Alliance has a rule: most of the people who are killed have some of their vital blood brought back, which is then scattered on this land. Over time, it has developed into its current appearance, resembling a scene from Hell.
Today, the gates of the Assassin Alliance were wide open, with many powerful figures entering, including Overlords from various bases and some important assassin figures, creating a gathering of strong individuals.
Ye Luo followed these people into the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance. These assassins didn’t know each other, so Ye Luo didn’t have to worry.
Of course, everyone carried a token issued by the Assassin Alliance, symbolizing their identity.
Ye Luo, for instance, held a token as the Overlord of a third-level force, and the vicinity of the Assassin Alliance is surrounded by a formation that can sense these tokens. Anyone without a token or with a counterfeit token simply couldn’t enter the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance.
The so-called small scale of the Assassin Alliance is only in comparison to the third force and the Demon Race; in reality, the city of the Assassin Alliance is much larger than the Royal City itself.
Luxurious cave mansions and palaces are scattered throughout the city.
Inside the city, there was a bustling crowd, and surprisingly, many merchants from other forces were doing business there.
The Assassin Alliance was rather lenient towards these merchants; in fact, the atmosphere in this city was quite harmonious.
At least it wasn’t as Ye Luo imagined, with scenes of massacre everywhere; rather, this place seemed more suitable for cultivators to reside in than the Royal City.
Of course, this refers only to the atmosphere, not Spiritual Energy.
These visiting Overlords were not allowed to roam freely in the city. Though the management of the Assassin Alliance was quite lax, there were many rules within the city, making it far more orderly than the Royal City.
Ye Luo followed other Overlords to a large hall.
This hall was built extremely large, potentially accommodating thousands of cultivators.
This meeting was set to take place here.
Besides the outsider assassins, the assassins from the headquarters attending the meeting were even more numerous.
The host of this meeting was an old assassin, rumored to be a Martial Emperor-level assassin, truly formidable, one who ranked highly within the Assassin Alliance.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the reason we’ve gathered here today is to inform you of something crucial!"
The style of the Assassin Alliance has always been straightforward; every meeting almost invariably involved delivering orders.
"The current situation is unclear. The leadership has required us, besides the Black Butterfly Legion, to form our own assassin team! Gathering the Overlords here today is to inform you that we’ll be deploying the strong figures from all bases to form an assassin legion. Of course, some bases can be directly abolished; only those at the first-level are allowed to remain intact!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Luo was suddenly delighted; this meant his third-level base was to be eradicated, allowing him to join the assassin legion. Once in the legion, he would naturally remain in the headquarters city, making it much easier to locate Luo Xue.
Despite the gathering of such a large number of Overlords from the first to third-level bases, numbering at least a hundred, along with hundreds of elite assassins from the headquarters, the elder ended the meeting with only a few brief commands.
This scene left Ye Luo somewhat amused; the Assassin Alliance’s style of operation, if only involving such matters, could have been communicated by sound transmission.
Leaving the city, Ye Luo promptly returned to the base. Upon hearing the news of its abolition, the assassins in the base were all excited. After all, survival in a third-level base was very difficult, with hardly any major missions available, whereas returning to the headquarters offered better survival conditions and many more opportunities for development.
In just a few hours, the assassins at the base had packed up and set off for the headquarters.
By the time they arrived at the headquarters, night had fallen. Guided by specialized cultivators, they were arranged accommodations and informed that the formation of the assassin legion would begin in three days.
After settling in, Ye Luo walked out of the cave mansion. The cave mansion was merely a resting place, pathetically small in size.
He followed the path into the city. His first entry barred random roaming, but now it’s different; as a member of the city, naturally no one restricted his movements.
Though it was night, the city was bustling with activity. These assassins were too lazy to cultivate, instead indulging in revelry and leading a life of debauchery.
Ye Luo could confidently say this was probably the city with the most entertainment activities in the entire Demon Realm, even evoking memories of strolling night markets on Earth.
Besides, there were quite a few beauteous women; from various races, nonetheless, they had all become the playthings of these assassins, but Ye Luo was naturally uninterested in these women.
At this point, Ye Luo realized that the most numerous among buildings weren’t palaces but rather the Fragrance Houses, the greatest allure for assassins. Just hearing the name reveals what kind of places they are.
Ye Luo chose the largest Fragrance House, not for the sake of those women, even if they were extraordinary beauties; he had no interest. Such places, though chaotic, were the most well-informed locations for gathering information.
