1836 Chapter 1829: Final Act (3)
Original Dawn Palace.
Sweating profusely, Young Master Shang heaved heavy breaths with his back bent at a forlorn angle. He clutched at a pendant exuding a soft light reminiscent of a rising star over a gorgeous horizon with both hands. Those hands had thick veins that pulsed with a strong spiritual strength, all belonging to Young Master Shang.
It had taken an absurd amount of time and strenuous effort, but he had suppressed the pendant's activation. Then, and only then, was this white-robed Young Master capable of collapsing as if all his bones had turned into jelly, breathing a sigh of indescribable relief and peace.
If it wasn't for being present within the Original Dawn Palace's sub-spatial dimensions and the saber formation that severed foreign fluctuations from affecting its stability, this feat wouldn't have been possible. The cause for this plight of his was none other than the arrival of one of the Supreme Sages of Shadow Veil, particularly the All-Shrouding Dusk Sovereign!
"Hehe. Haha! HEHE!! HAHA!!!"
Looking at the inert pendant, Young Master Shang's lips curled into a smile, then a grin, and then a triumphant laugh that matched his youthful energy, almost as if he was drunk silly with success. He threw his head back and shook, truly letting himself go. Few could understand the sheer calamity that had been avoided by his actions, especially not Wei Wuyin.
Unfortunately, he was far too preoccupied with the pendant, unaware that Wei Wuyin had destroyed Long Shiya's physical body earlier. After a solid minute of laughter, he slowly rose as he stretched weary bones, sending waves of decompressing pressure across his spine that was ecstasy and bliss with closed eyes.
Within the subspace, a swirling darkness emerged, slowly gaining form and establishing itself as a shadowy silhouette with exceptionally feminine curves, while the exact features of this individual were shrouded by gloomy darkness, the fact that this person's voluptuous figure was enough to move the hearts of men and women was clear for all to see at a mere glance.
"..." Young Master Shang sniffed and yawned, exhaustion slowly creeping into his mind. The shadowy figure approached closer, reaching a few meters from Young Master Shang, and its head seemed to be gazing at the young figure amusingly."At the very least, she didn't notice." Young Master Shang smiled with satisfaction.
Then, he opened his eyes.
Blinked.
Closed his eyes.
"At the very least, she didn't notice." He repeated.
Then, he opened his eyes.
The shadowy figure was still there. A feeling of extreme panic surged through his heart with unprecedented force, and then his hands waved as he stuttered: "I-I-I ca-can explain!"
The shadowy figure suddenly glanced upwards, and then with a wave of their arm, exposing a wide-robed sleeve of darkness, enveloping Young Master Shang in a dusky, shadowy light that resonated with the heavens and space. With a single flutter, the two vanished in a flurry of darkness.
-----
Wei Wuyin's true body stared into the void, his Celestial Eyes peering across all manner of space and matter, locking onto the subspace realm within the Original Dawn Palace. He was alerted after an abrupt intrusion. Just as he was about to act using the various preparations within the subspace, he halted curiously as the visage of the shadowy figure entered his mind. After a little thought and recollection of the memories from Zhan Jiangwen, he shook his head and set the matter aside for now.
A more pressing matter was his gains from the Utmost Unity Mind-Realm. The realm was a great boon for cultivators who could seize its advantages of generating Unity Essence, a special essence material converted from refined mental energies that had the incredible effect of nurturing the soul.
A part of the agreement for this alchemical exchange was his permission to access this mind-realm for a limited time. It was beyond the prediction of the Zeniths that his Little Defiant could act as a conversion medium due to its unique qualities, turning utterly absurd quantities of peak solar energies into Unity Essence. Additionally, Little Defiant was a part of him, the possessor of the Stellar-Paragon Physique, including its equally, if not even more absurd, ability to restore expended energies at a hyper-rate.
What resulted from this was a gargantuan amount of Unity Essence created in the swiftest and most effective means—aggressive conversion. A cycle that yields an ungodly amount of Unity Essence.
This single gain was almost enough to make the entire escapade worth it.
Wei Wuyin had left the study to his Second Mind, who was relishing in it with a tad bit of ravenous insanity. Within a short period, his Second Mind had already determined three critical uses for Unity Essence outside of its nurturing of the soul or Spirit of Cultivation to elevate its state, and its ability to assist in mitigating the need for a Seed of Law to act as a stabilizing unit for smooth cultivation progression.
Firstly, it could be used as an alchemical material and a potential substitute material for many concoction recipes that Wei Wuyin had neglected. Substitute materials were insanely rare because they had to be able to transform to match the exact material after refinement, an incredibly difficult requirement. Unlike herbalism or forging, which used substitute materials to create a similar product, the substitution of alchemy was one of transformation and refinement, and only to transform to contain the exact properties and details of the substituted material.
This revelation also meant that it was prime material to act as a foundation for a new product!
Secondly, the soul-nurturing aspect wasn't limited to the soul of cultivators, beasts, or Spirits of Cultivation, but Wei Wuyin had found his path for the Nascent Saber Soul to advance, potentially to the fourth level as Su Yi's Nascent Sword Soul had!
The current third-level Nascent Saber Soul, Element, was critical to his 'Mortal Vs Mystic' victory, and Profound Saber Energy allowed him to exceed his limits time and time again whenever he drew his saber, greatly contributing to his overwhelming strength.
Su Yi had a fourth-level Nascent Sword Soul, and having it provided significant assistance to him as he fought against a fourth-tier Sage as a Heavenly Saint and won with ease. While it wasn't the only contributing factor, considering he had only relied on his Nascent Sword Soul and his cultivation base to exceed the eighth phase of Mystic Ascendant Realm cultivator, and not a mere ordinary Sage either, was a fantastic example of its power.
Wei Wuyin yearned for it.
Element desired it as well!
During the negotiations with Su Yi, he also exposed a method of cultivation for Nascent Souls. It wasn't too surprising that the Alchemic Dao, which could innately create Nascent Souls, was phenomenal in advancing a Nascent Soul with the required material. In truth, Wei Wuyin felt a little frustrated at his carelessness, and even his Second Mind was cursing at the simplicity of it.
He simply had to refine his Nascent Saber Soul with relevant soul-nurturing materials, energies, or essences, and the best soul-nurturing material was Soul Light. Su Yi relied on the Sword of the Transient Realm's sword light to refine his Nascent Saber Soul to the fourth-level, but only after bolstering its foundation with other materials to withstand such extreme tempering and refinement.
With the Unity Essence combined with his Omega Saber Soul Light, Alpha Genesis Soul Light, Formless Divinity Soul Light, and Seven Source Soul Light alongside Su Yi's cultivation method to temper and refine Nascent Souls, it was only a matter of time before Element ascended to the fourth-level.
The third use found by the Second Mind was that it could serve as a phenomenal foundation for the False God Avatar Art during creation. The Second Mind theorized that, by doing so, the Avatars could use their Minor and Major Laws. This was unprecedented! The Authority of Laws was tethered to one's soul, and extracting it was unthinkable. Not even Wei Wuyin and his Astral Souls could achieve the feat with severe consequences, but externalizing with the Unity Essence as an assisting base might be able to achieve it!
The implications were not minor.
And this would be boundlessly useful for his plans, if successful.
While assessing his gains with Unity Essence, Wei Wuyin received a spiritual transmission. It was the Incandescent Star Palace.
"World-Saint Neo-Dawn, the majority of your guests have arrived. They are seeking to know when their remuneration will be delivered," the voice belonged to the male Enlightened Sage of the Incandescent Star Palace, one of the two Vice-Palace Masters—Zhou Yiyang.
Wei Wuyin sneered. However, he didn't bother to fuss about those urgent with greed. It wasn't their fault. If he hadn't promised rewards for coming to the Utmost Purity Galaxy, including covering the fees for the Star Bridge's usage, it was unlikely these rulers of the neighboring lesser galaxies would have actively made the trip, especially since he hadn't used his name to bring them over.
If he had, given his feat of destroying Long Shiya's physical body, they would be rushing to gain his favor. But that was an easily overlooked matter. For now, he'd settle his dues with these 'guests'.
After all, they not only were guests but had become planned witnesses to the Alchemic Clash of one Worldly Saint Alchemist against seven Heavenly Saint Alchemists. The timing couldn't have been better, especially for this final act.
