Paradox: Sign-In Across Two Worlds
Chapter 43: Grand Region
Qing felt his entire figure breaching the folds of space itself, as if a wormhole were being created by the Formation. His eyes couldn’t see anything other than complete darkness, while his body remained surrounded by an unusual sensation of spatial distortion.
Just as he became accustomed to that feeling, a completely different sensation suddenly passed through his entire body. It was the sensation of illuminating light and an incredibly dense concentration of Spiritual Qi that clearly did not belong to the Azure Heaven Realm.
The Spiritual Qi was so dense that Qing could immediately feel it entering his body through every pore. The concentration was so absurdly high that the Spiritual Qi currently stored inside his Dantian didn’t even amount to one-hundredth of the Spiritual Qi concentration within the surrounding atmosphere.
Qing’s expression changed slightly at the realization, and before he could properly process just how enormous the difference between the two Realms was, his body completely emerged from the spatial passage.
With that, he snapped open his eyes and the first thing that entered his vision was the sky.
It was vast.
Far beyond the ordinary blue sky he had become accustomed to seeing in the Azure Heaven Realm, the sky above him stretched endlessly into the distance, covered by faint streams of Spiritual Qi that moved through the atmosphere like enormous rivers. Several enormous floating islands could be seen high above the clouds, each one connected to another by gigantic bridges formed from Spiritual Qi and covered in intricate Formations.
But that was only the beginning.
Qing slowly lowered his gaze, and his pupils immediately contracted.
He couldn’t see the end.
In every direction, an enormous territory stretched across the horizon, so vast that even with his current Spiritual Sense, he couldn’t determine where the boundaries ended. Countless mountain ranges covered the land, some reaching so high that their peaks disappeared beyond the clouds, while enormous waterfalls descended from their sides and flowed through the valleys below.
Rivers several hundred miles wide passed between the mountains, their waters carrying traces of Spiritual Qi that caused them to shine faintly beneath the sunlight. Vast forests covered entire portions of the territory, while enormous cities had been constructed between the mountains and plains, each city containing countless buildings and formations.
Qing remained silent as he stared at the sight before him.
Across the enormous territory, countless disciples could be seen moving through the air, flying across mountains and between floating islands. Some were practicing Martial Arts on enormous platforms, while others sat cross-legged beneath ancient trees, cultivating the dense Spiritual Qi surrounding them.
"This is the Nine Lotus Sect, the entire Grand Region stretching over billions of miles that is even larger than the entire Azure Heaven Realm." Han spoke across from Qing, making him turn for the first time toward the people around him after he came here.
"Grand Region?" Qing asked as he had never heard this term from his Master during all his time with her in the previous life, Yue answered before Han could, "This entire upper realm is divided in three Grand Regions, and one of them is this where the entire sect is the Grand Region Itself, you will know more when you go to the Nine Lotus Pavillion, the renowned library of our sect."
Qing nodded as he also felt rather than hearing a long explanation and wasting both parties’ time, it would be better to just go to a library and read all about it, "Alright, what should I do now though? I mean to enter the sect, there must be some tests I need to pass right?"
He asked and everyone nodded at this, Yue spoke up again as they were surrounded by Disciples coming toward them, "First we need to go to the elders and inform them about the situation, after that they will lead us to the sect master who might test you and your talent before she takes you in as a Disciple of the sect."
Qing nodded as he sensed several presences around them, just as he was about to turn around a presence descended over him, his entire body felt like it was about to burst apart but just then, Yue shouted, "Elder Gin! stop it right this Instant, we are the ones to bring him in as a new disciple of the sect!"
Qing felt the pressure vanish from over his body, he panted heavily before lifting his head toward the floating person above them, an old man with white Nine Lotus sect robe floated with his long beard flaring by the wind, his demeanor completely indifferent as his hands remained at the back in a relaxed manner.
A long moment of silence before he spoke with his heavy voice, "Is that so? Then bring him in, the sect Master must see him and then his test will begin." With that the old man vanished from where he was floating, Yue immediately rushed toward Qing as she felt worried, "Are you okay, Qing? Elder Gin is like that to newbies, so please do not mind him."
Qing narrowed his eyes, ’No, he was looking at me with those suspicious eyes as if he was prying to see if I would get in his way or not...a person only looks at someone in that way when they are planning something very crucial.’ He turned toward Yue who was supporting him by his arm to stand up.
’They all seem to being fooled, if what Master said is true...then the current sect master is not powerful in strength at all, he is a coward who is hiding and plotting things, after all if he was strong like Master, he could turn the whole sect to ashes and execute his plan without needing to wait for this much time...’ He immediately concluded as he remembered the look from that old man.
’And it seems to me, he has got his hands on these elders already...’ He shook his head before his innate regeneration already healed the small injuries he just got from that pressure, "Do not worry senior Yue, I don’t mind an Elder’s etiquette, he must have been testing me to see if I was a demon or not."
Yue nodded as she saw him smiling while speaking, ’Like hell I don’t mind, even in Earth my enemies always die miserable deaths, so it is also not going to change here...’ He thought before shifting to Yue and speaking, "Alright, can we go to the sect master now?"
’Seems I need to Sign-In later, for now let’s see this "sect master"...’
