Paradox: Sign-In Across Two Worlds

Chapter 30: Second Sign-In!

Neolan could be seen sitting on a floating holographic light seat, his back slightly leaned against it as he stared at the countless blue holographic screens flickering one after another before him.

Each screen displayed a different process, with lines of calculations, formulas, and constantly changing data moving across them at a pace that would have been impossible for an ordinary person to follow.

Neolan had already provided the Goddess of Niflheim with the theorem required to solve the problem, and she was now doing what she was designed to do by breaking down the entire theory and its mathematics down to the smallest possible detail.

He remained completely relaxed as he watched the process, knowing that the AI would eventually arrive at the same conclusion he had already reached.

One might wonder why Neolan was making the Goddess of Niflheim solve the problem herself when he already knew the answer. The truth was that he had only given her the theorem necessary to reach the solution, while intentionally leaving out one crucial sentence within that theorem.

That missing piece would force the Goddess to analyze countless possibilities and reconstruct the final part herself, while also preventing her from immediately realizing that Neolan already possessed the complete solution.

If he simply handed her everything, the Goddess might become suspicious about how a newly awakened twenty-year-old could possess knowledge that had eluded the Federation’s greatest scientists for years.

The highest level of security placed on a sanctioned project could still not completely prevent the Federation Chief from accessing it. He was the sole exception to the security protocols, which meant that even a project classified under the highest possible privacy level could eventually reach his attention if he specifically chose to investigate it.

’If he were to know about this project before it is done, then it will be a huge problem.’ Neolan narrowed his eyes slightly as he thought about it before shifting his attention toward the System screen floating before him, ’Seems she will need some time with a zillion possibilities, trying to find that single piece missing from the theorem.’

For a moment, Neolan wondered if he should simply provide the complete theorem and allow the Goddess of Niflheim to evolve her own capabilities through it. However, he immediately rejected the thought and shook his head slightly. ’If I do that, the Butterfly Effect will be too much, and... the Chief will interrogate me.’

He had come here for another purpose in the first place, and there was something far more important he wanted to investigate, ’I need information about the Empire and the Church, what could be more informative than the Goddess of Niflheim herself?’ Neolan looked toward the holographic screens surrounding him with a calm expression.

The Goddess of Niflheim possessed information accumulated by the Federation for over centuries and even everything going on in the current world, including records, rankings, laws, incidents, and countless pieces of information that ordinary people could never access.

Getting her to directly reveal everything he wanted would naturally require some effort, but Neolan wasn’t concerned about that yet. For now, he shifted his attention back toward the System screen and looked at the window floating directly before him.

[Sign-In? Y/N]

’Alright, Sign-In...’

The moment Neolan made his decision, the System immediately responded, and another window appeared before him.

[Sign-In successful!]

[Reward: Elixir of Perfect Harmony]

[Description: An extremely rare elixir created from the essence of the Universe, it perfectly and permanently harmonizes different types of energies within a single body, giving the Host a state of absolute equilibrium between them.

The energies will remain completely independent while circulating in perfect harmony, eliminating any possibility of interference, rejection, or conflict between them.]

Neolan’s eyes immediately widened as he read the description, and vivid memories from his previous life surfaced in his mind.

He remembered the countless battles where he had been forced to maintain both Astrine and Spiritual Qi within his body, constantly controlling the two different energies so they wouldn’t interfere with each other.

Whenever he needed to switch between the usage of both energies, the burden on his mind had been always so severe that he would always become vulnerable during the battles he fought.

’T-This is the exact thing I would need!’ Neolan stared at the reward window in disbelief before his expression slowly became complicated. ’How the hell does the System know what I need?’ For the first time since obtaining the System, he began seriously analyzing its existence rather than simply accepting the benefits it provided.

The reward was far too perfectly suited to his current situation, and although it could be nothing more than an incredible coincidence, the timing still made him suspicious.

When the System had first appeared before him after his sudden awakening in the cultivation world, Neolan had naturally questioned its existence.

After all, in those novels mysterious Systems would secretly manipulate their Hosts, hide their true purposes, and eventually reveal themselves as the true enemy behind everything. However, everything had happened far too quickly after his reincarnation for him to spend much time investigating that possibility.

Between his new life in the cultivation world, his discovery of the Demons, finding Yun Xiya, and eventually returning to Earth, the question of the System had gradually been pushed into the back of his mind.

Now, however, the thought had returned.

But then again, Neolan was already supposed to be dead, and there was no denying that the System had already given him countless opportunities that would have otherwise been impossible. ’Even if I have some kind of speciality that made this System choose me and transmigrate me, it is still a good thing for me.’ He remained silent for a moment before another thought surfaced in his mind. ’Hmm, what could the System’s goal be?’

For the first time, Neolan actually felt a headache from a mystery he couldn’t solve. Even with Ultimate Comprehension, there was simply no way for him to understand the intentions of the system, ’Sigh, I will figure it out when the time comes...’ He shook his head and dismissed the thought for now before looking at the reward window again.

’I will use it once I am back in the cultivation world.’ Neolan closed the System window and returned his attention to the holographic screens surrounding him.

Several minutes had already passed, and the Goddess of Niflheim had finally managed to find the final missing piece of the theorem. Neolan stared at the completed calculation for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his face. ’Hmm, now the real question and shock will surface...’

He turned his head slightly toward the Goddess of Niflheim, who had been standing beside him throughout the entire process.

"Sir Neolan, the theorem has been proven to be correct for both the theory and the mathematical problem," the Goddess of Niflheim said in her mechanical voice. "As I am not permitted to ask the source of information from the project master, I will not do so."

Her blue holographic eyes continued displaying streams of information as she processed the results. "This is a completely new discovery that can bring about a new era for Astrine technology, but the question remains the same. Where would we be able to find the materials required for the Mecha?"

She paused briefly before continuing, "According to the solution that was produced, we would require a metal capable of withstanding the power of the strongest individuals on Earth."

The Goddess of Niflheim remained silent for a moment before delivering the conclusion of her calculations. "And that is impossible, even with the materials found on different planets throughout the entire Milky Way Galaxy or even the nearest neighboring galaxies."

Neolan simply nodded at her explanation as he already knew that the materials currently available to humanity would never be enough to construct AEGIS-01. The entire point of his visit here was to create the theoretical foundation first, while the actual material would be something he would personally obtain later.

"I know it is impossible, but you do not need to worry about that. I will be the one to bring the materials, and although it will take time, it can be managed." Neolan turned his head and looked through the transparent walls of the Virtual Space toward the Mecha Robots the scientists had been working on.

Even the most advanced prototype currently under development was still three entire levels below the AEGIS-01 he intended to create. To the scientists, their current project represented years of research and countless advancements, but Neolan already knew exactly how far beyond it AEGIS-01 would eventually be.

"Now that I have solved an impossible-classification problem, I guess my ranking will rise again?" Neolan glanced toward the Goddess of Niflheim before continuing, "And now you can classify the project under the highest privacy level, right?"

The Goddess immediately nodded, and countless blue holographic windows appeared around them as the project was locked behind multiple layers of security measures and seemingly unbreachable codes. The information regarding the project was sealed under the highest privacy classification, while Neolan’s current Federation Ranking was simultaneously displayed before him.

Neolan’s eyes immediately focused on the ranking before a grin slowly appeared on his face. He had accomplished the first thing he came here to do, and the result was exactly what he had expected.

He turned toward the Goddess of Niflheim, his expression becoming noticeably more interested as he spoke.

"Now that one thing is done, it is time for the main dish."
