Pampered by My Secret Husband
Chapter 1434 - 1436: I Don’t Want You Sneaking Behind My Back
"Frank Mitchell, I don’t care what you’re plotting, Cheryl Chew is not someone you’re allowed to covet." Throwing down the words, Raina Bell gave a cold snort and hang up the phone.
What a joke, taking Cheryl Chew to meet him—Cheryl’s that simple nature, who knows when she’d spill the fact that she knows Frank Mitchell.
At that time, wouldn’t she be digging her own grave?
Frank Mitchell gave a cold smile, playfully turning the mobile phone in his hand. "I can’t covet her? Ridiculous!"
Putting down the mobile phone, Frank Mitchell called a servant over. "Where is Miss Lillian Spencer?"
"Miss is in the study room," the servant said.
Frank Mitchell didn’t wait for the servant to go announce him and headed straight for the study room.
Knock knock knock—
"Come in."
Frank Mitchell pushed the door open and stepped into the study room, seeing Lillian Spencer practicing calligraphy.
Each stroke was vigorous and forceful, edged with sharpness, appearing on the rice paper.
"Miss Lillian Spencer really has refined taste." Frank Mitchell came to sit on sofa, dropping down without the least restraint.
"Something you need?" Lillian Spencer set the pen on the penholder and picked up the towel beside her to clean her hands.
Frank Mitchell lit a cigarette. "Of course there’s something, and it’s good news. Why don’t you make a guess, Miss Lillian Spencer?"
Lillian Spencer had no such interest. She thought for a few seconds. "Thomas Shannon has been poisoned?"
"Up to now he’s still unconscious." Frank Mitchell grinned, revealing a row of white teeth. "The plan worked."
Lillian Spencer sneered. "This is only the first step. Don’t get careless. Thomas Shannon isn’t that easy to deal with."
Everything was going too smoothly, which in turn made her feel it was strange.
"We proceed to the next step as planned?" Frank Mitchell raised his brows and asked. Next up was the time to take Thomas Shannon’s life.
Once Thomas Shannon met his death, James Shannon would spend the rest of his life in hell, and Rosamond Black wouldn’t have it easy either.
Last time he hadn’t taken Rosamond Black’s life; this time, he’d probably be able to send her down to hell with Thomas Shannon so they could meet again.
"Mm." Lillian Spencer nodded lightly.
Frank Mitchell pressed his index finger and middle finger together, touching his forehead in a little salute gesture. "Got it. I’ll go make arrangements right away."
"Wait."
Behind him, Lillian Spencer spoke, stopping him.
Frank Mitchell clenched the cigarette between his lips and turned back in puzzlement. "Is there something else, Miss Lillian Spencer?"
Lillian Spencer’s body leaned back against the desk, her arms arrogantly crossed over her chest, cold eyes on him. "Frank Mitchell, I don’t want you pulling any tricks behind my back. I won’t pursue what happened with Mrs. Shannon last time, but if there’s a next time, don’t blame me for turning on you and disowning you."
A shadow flickered in the depths of Frank Mitchell’s eyes. He hooked his lips in a smile and blew out a smoke ring. "Last time was just an accident. Besides, Mrs. Shannon turned out fine, didn’t she?"
"I don’t want that kind of ’accident’ to happen again, understand?"
Frank Mitchell nodded perfunctorily. "Understood. If that’s all, I’ll be going?"
Lillian Spencer nodded, and Frank Mitchell turned to leave.
Leaving the study room, he let out a cold snort, shot the study room a dismissive glance, and strode away.
......
By evening, Thomas Shannon finally woke up.
The doctor carefully helped him sit up. "Young Master, do you feel any discomfort anywhere?"
Thomas Shannon’s face was cold and stern, expressionless. After a while, he finally spoke. "Where’s Charlie River?"
"Young Master, Charlie River just went to rest. We’ll have someone go call him over right away."
Charlie River, who had just gone to rest for a while, was told the Young Master had woken up, and he rushed nonstop to the medical office.
"Young Master, you’re awake?"
Thomas Shannon pulled out the needle, lifted the quilt, and was about to get off the bed. "Get things ready, we’re flying to Country F immediately."
