"Thomas Shannon, tell me, is there any shameless, despicable thing left that you’re not capable of doing?"

Thomas Shannon reached out and pulled her into his embrace, one hand gently patting her back to help her catch her breath. "Fennie, the doctor said you’re showing signs of miscarriage, so you have to keep your mood pleasant, don’t get angry."

"And who’s the one forcing me to get angry?" Sophie Sullivan shoved him a few times but couldn’t push him away, then lifted her hand and started hitting his back.

Thomas Shannon felt a jolt in his chest, and a rush of blood with a metallic taste surged up his throat.

His brows knitted hard, he forced down that sharp pain and spoke in a low voice, "Fennie, it’s my fault. Letting Liam Donald step forward is the best way, besides, I’ll also give Walton Group appropriate compensation."

"Do you think Liam Donald is short of money?" Sophie Sullivan let out a cold snort. "You’re not short of money, other people aren’t either. Don’t go thinking you’re the only rich one in the world!"

Think money can fix everything?

Ridiculous to the extreme!

"Baby, I’m sorry."

"The one you should be apologizing to isn’t me, it’s Liam Donald! You had people blow up Walton Manor before, did you ever apologize?"

"..."

"Thomas Shannon, get lost!"

Thomas Shannon let go of her with the motion. His head lowered, breathing slightly uneven. Charlie River noticed something was off with him and asked worriedly, "Young Master, are you alright?"

"I think he’s perfectly fine." Sophie Sullivan sneered. "Thomas Shannon, you really are the most despicable, shameless person I’ve met in over 20 years of my life."

"I’ll go apologize, just don’t get angry, think of the child..."

Thomas Shannon stood up and walked out, calm and composed.

Charlie River looked at Sophie Sullivan, then at Thomas Shannon’s back as he turned to leave. He hesitated for a few seconds before chasing after him. "Young Master, are you really going to apologize?"

Once in the car, Thomas Shannon couldn’t hold back anymore and spat out a mouthful of blood.

Charlie River’s face changed drastically. "Young Master, are you alright?!"

Thomas Shannon took the handkerchief and wiped the corner of the mouth clean. "Go to the hospital..."

The man in black didn’t dare delay, and immediately drove to the hospital at the fastest speed.

Hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, after a series of examinations, the doctor came to a conclusion. "You’ve been poisoned."

"Poisoned?" Charlie River couldn’t believe it. How was that possible?

The doctor looked at the examination report, brows tightly furrowed. "The initial assessment is inhalation poisoning."

Coming out from inside hospital, Thomas Shannon’s face was so dark it was frightening.

Charlie River immediately sent people out to investigate. Every place Thomas Shannon had been in and out of was thoroughly checked; they couldn’t let any suspicious person or object slip by.

"Young Master, are we going to Liam Donald now?"

Thomas Shannon waved his hand. "Back to Onassis Old Castle."

"You’re not going to apologize anymore?" Charlie River hadn’t forgotten that Young Madam was mad because he didn’t apologize to Liam Donald.

If they just went straight back like this and Young Madam got mad again, what would they do?

Thomas Shannon leaned back against the back chair and gradually closed his eyes. "Immediately get things ready, tonight we return to Country A."

"Yes, Young Master." With that short sentence, Charlie River already understood what he wanted to do.

Hurrying back now, he was probably going to say goodbye...

Sophie Sullivan was so angry she didn’t even drink her afternoon tea, and had been waiting for Thomas Shannon to come back from apologizing to Liam Donald.

Hearing the servant say Thomas Shannon returned, her spirits lifted. Seeing the man appear in her line of sight, she pressed her lips at the corner of the mouth. "Did you apologize?"

Thomas Shannon mumbled an indistinct response. He came over to sit beside her and reached out, pulling her into his embrace.

He held her in silence.

This kind of strange Thomas Shannon was something Sophie Sullivan rarely saw.

She hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "Did Liam Donald give you a hard time?"
