Chapter 1398 - 1400: What Is the Relation Between You and Lillian Spencer?

The coffee cup was set down, and Lillian Spencer laughed, "If I were helping her, why would I meet with Miss Sullivan today?"

"Understood." Sophie Sullivan nodded, "So, Miss Lillian Spencer, are you trying to cut me a bit of slack?"

Unfortunately, Sophie had no intention of accepting this favor.

Lillian Spencer simply smiled and said nothing, and after a while, she said again, "I’ve only given Miss Sullivan a minor suggestion. Country A is not a place for you to stay; I hope you leave as soon as possible, otherwise, if anything happens, I cannot guarantee your safety."

The last sentence was nothing short of a warning.

Sophie tapped lightly on the table surface with one hand and lowered her eyelids, "What grudge does Miss Lillian Spencer have with Thomas Shannon?"

"Why doesn’t Miss Sullivan guess what kind of relationship I have with Thomas Shannon?"

Sophie was unmoved, "Do you guys even have any relation?"

Behind her, came the steady footsteps of a man and a deep, cold voice, "No relation!"

Thomas Shannon quickly approached Sophie, pulling her up from the chair with one hand, his cold eyes covered with a thin layer of frost, glaring a warning at Lillian Spencer, "Lillian Spencer, I don’t want to repeat myself, you better watch your step."

When he finished speaking, he dragged Sophie away.

His strides were quick and large, and Sophie stumbled behind him, almost tripping.

She was furious, wondering why he felt the urgent need to leave in such a hurry.

Was he feeling guilty?

"Thomas Shannon, let go of me!"

The man with thin lips pressed tightly finally regained his thoughts, stopped in his tracks, saw her disheveled state, and then let go of his grip.

"Are you okay?"

"I think it’s you who looks like you have a problem." Sophie shrugged off his hand and got into the car first.

Thomas Shannon rubbed his forehead with one hand, followed closely, got into the car, and the fleet quickly departed towards the manor.

Sophie’s body kept a distance from Thomas Shannon as if she had no intention of getting near him.

Pouting, she turned her cheek towards the window, not even giving him a glance.

Thomas Shannon had a headache, "Fennie, Lillian Spencer isn’t a good person, you should stay away from her. What would you have done today if I hadn’t come?"

"Lillian Spencer really had no intentions of doing anything to me, but you, why are you so afraid of Lillian Spencer?" Sophie abruptly turned her cheek back, expressionless, scrutinizing him: "What exactly is the relationship between you and Lillian Spencer?"

"There is no relationship at all."

"Then why does she want to take action against you?"

"..."

"Don’t tell me she’s an unrequited lover who turns hateful, so she wants to deal with you out of love and hate?" If that’s the case, she had overestimated Lillian Spencer.

Thomas Shannon sneered, "You’re overthinking it, she would never like me."

"Then it’s you who likes her?" Sophie’s bewildering eyes fixated on him without blinking.

Thomas Shannon got angry, his hands slipped under her armpits, holding her body to sit on his lap, his cold eyes staring at her, "Sophie, you listen to me. I, Thomas Shannon, have no relationship whatsoever with Lillian Spencer. There’s no case of me liking her, or her liking me, got it?"

Sophie remained unchanged, not so easily fooled, "Then tell me, what exactly is the grudge between you two?"

Thomas Shannon raised his hand, rubbed her head, "These matters are none of your concern, just rest assured and be the Young Madam."

"..." Sophie snorted coldly, turning as if to get off his lap.

Thomas Shannon grabbed her slender waist, holding her chin with one hand, "Tell me, what did Lillian Spencer say to you?"
