Overpowered Broadcast System

Chapter 287: Patrolling Kekexili, Is This a Living Immortal?

  • Next Chapter

Under the blue sky and white clouds lay an endless wilderness.

The drone's broadcast showed three boxy off-road vehicles parked in the distance, with a few people eating boxed lunches nearby.

Seeing Ning Fei's car approaching, the group stood up and looked in his direction.

Ning Fei's car was incredibly imposing.

Pitch-black and distinctively styled, it looked remarkably cool.

"He's here!" someone exclaimed.

"It's Ning Guan master, that outdoor streamer."

Among the six people, two appeared particularly excited.

They were college students volunteering during their winter break. Having gone through a period of training, they had acquired some patrolling skills.

Young people, especially college students, always harbored a special admiration for major streamers like Ning Fei.

Ning Fei stepped out of the car and greeted the group.

The captain of the patrol team was named Dorje, a dark-skinned, sturdy Tibetan man.

He took the spare parts from Ning Fei's hands and said politely, "Thank you, Mr. Ning."

At that moment, the two college students crowded around, visibly thrilled. They excitedly asked for a photo with Ning Fei, and he readily agreed.

The others, though not quite as enthusiastic, were still polite.

To be fair, most of the Tibetan men here practiced a different religion. In their eyes, a Daoist priest like Ning Fei was a bit unconventional.

However, the real world rarely harbored so much hostility and suppression. Everyone got along amicably.

Ning Fei chatted with the two college students for a while, and they seemed ecstatic.

"Haha, I'm on the live stream! Hello to my friends from Zhongnan University. I'm Yang Xu, your junior-year senior, and I'm broadcasting with Ning Guan master right now in Kekexili."

Yang Xu waved at the drone's camera with a pure, bright smile.

The viewers loved this kind of scene too.

Many bullet comments instantly replied.

"Senior, I'm a sophomore girl! Can you get an autographed photo of Ning Guan master for me?"

"Glory to our great Zhongnan University!"

"Senior, you look awesome!"

"Badass! Cheering for you!"

The atmosphere in the live stream room immediately grew lively.

Other netizens also found the interaction highly amusing.

Yang Xu was a volunteer at the Protection Station helping to protect Tibetan antelopes, a commendable act in itself.

Ning Fei was more than happy to play along.

Before long, the broken-down off-road vehicle was repaired. Everyone got back into their cars and continued their patrol deeper into the nature reserve.

The mighty convoy rolled forward, traveling along the boundary between heaven and earth.

The highly intelligent drone flew far ahead, broadcasting the convoy from a distance.

The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.

At a glance, the blue sky intertwined with white clouds above, while the boundless light-brown earth stretched out below.

The convoy moved steadily forward right in the middle, forming a single column.

The entire scene brimmed with a raw, primal wildness.

The viewers found the sight incredibly striking.

As they drove further into the distance, the walkie-talkie in Ning Fei's car suddenly crackled to life.

Captain Dorje had given Ning Fei a walkie-talkie earlier. Since they were patrolling together, maintaining communication was essential.

"Captain, it looks like there's a situation ahead," a Tibetan man's voice rang out from the device.

"Heading 130, about 200 meters away."

Hearing this, the patrol team members all gazed into the distance.

Not far away, a Tibetan antelope was sprawled on the ground. It had noticed the patrol team's vehicles but made no move to get up.

Seeing this, the patrol team immediately drove closer.

The viewers heard the transmission as well and instantly grew tense.

"What happened to the Tibetan antelope? Is it okay?"

"It looks like it's injured."

The patrol personnel soon reached the Tibetan antelope. They saw that it was an adult. Its hind legs appeared injured, leaving it unable to stand.

The antelope looked terrified upon seeing the patrol team. It seemed desperate to flee but simply couldn't.

"Everyone, move lightly. Don't frighten it," Captain Dorje immediately ordered.

Unexpectedly, Ning Fei had already walked right up to the Tibetan antelope.

He carried the aura of the auspicious beast, the Qilin.

In terms of form, both the Tibetan antelope and the Qilin were four-legged beasts, so it naturally felt an affinity toward the Qilin's aura.

Ning Fei slowly reached out his hand toward the Tibetan antelope, and astonishingly, the creature instantly calmed down.

The struggle and terror in its eyes vanished. Instead, it lay quietly on the ground, allowing Ning Fei to pet it.

Dorje and the other patrol members exchanged glances, their eyes filled with shock.

They had rescued Tibetan antelopes before and knew how incredibly timid the adults were. They would panic at the sight of humans and struggle non-stop.

This always posed a challenge during rescue operations.

They typically had to expend a tremendous amount of effort just to treat the animal.

But looking at the situation now, Ning Fei had merely stepped forward and soothed it a couple of times, and the Tibetan antelope had completely stopped struggling!

Dorje could plainly see that within just a few seconds, this adult Tibetan antelope had fully placed its trust in a human.

How was this possible?

Dorje followed a different religion. Seeing Ning Fei's clothes, he knew the young man belonged to Daoism, but he hadn't made much of it.

Yet now, witnessing the harmonious scene between Ning Fei and the Tibetan antelope, he felt his own faith waver for the very first time.

"This Tibetan antelope's hind leg is injured!"

"It's just a common sprain. It's not a major issue."

"Tibetan antelopes are herd animals; they usually move together."

"This one probably fell behind because its injury kept it from keeping up with the herd."

Ning Fei carefully examined the Tibetan antelope's injury. It was indeed a hind leg wound, likely caused by a collision with another antelope or some other impact.

"How is it? Do we need to rush it to the Protection Station for treatment?" Dorje asked from the side.

"No need."

Ning Fei shook his head.

Having inspected the injury, he knew it was merely a sprained hind leg without any major trauma. He gently massaged and moved the antelope's hind leg a couple of times while secretly activating the skill of the Zouwu Hand Beads.

The Zouwu Hand Beads possessed the ability to heal animal injuries. Ning Fei intentionally slowed the skill's onset, meaning its maximum restorative effect would fully kick in after they left.

This way, he avoided the overly exaggerated spectacle of instantly healing the Tibetan antelope on the spot.

Dorje watched Ning Fei in confusion. The Tibetan antelope had an injured hind leg—why was he massaging it instead of hurrying to carry it back to the Protection Station for treatment?

Could a massage actually cure a Tibetan antelope?

Just as Dorje was about to speak, the Tibetan antelope suddenly felt that its hind leg could move again. It kicked slightly against the ground and stood right up.

Dorje: "..."

The other patrol members also stared in shock.

The Tibetan antelope then trotted a few steps in place. Though its movements still looked a little awkward, it was already capable of normal mobility.

With an injury this mild, it no longer needed a rescue by the Protection Station.

The Tibetan antelope looked at Ning Fei, its gaze utterly pure.

Seeing this, the viewers showered Ning Fei with endless praise.

"Go on," Ning Fei told the Tibetan antelope gently.

Promptly, the Tibetan antelope slowly moved forward, setting off to find its herd.

The patrol team members turned their eyes back to Ning Fei.

They saw Ning Fei standing there, his Daoist Robe fluttering in the wind. His expression was gentle, and the golden glow of the setting sun fell perfectly upon him, unexpectedly making him look somewhat holy and pure.

Dorje's heart skipped a beat.

Only through such close contact could one truly feel the magical charm and unique temperament of the young man standing before them.

Dorje had always believed that only his own faith was sacred. Yet in this moment, he felt an aura radiating from Ning Fei that perfectly matched an idiom he had learned while studying Huaxia's language:

An ethereal immortal demeanor.

"Ning Guan master, that was amazing," Yang Xu, the college student, couldn't help but praise from the side.

"That Tibetan antelope merely had a sprain and a cramp. It was never anything serious to begin with," Ning Fei replied modestly.

"It's getting late. We should head back to the Protection Station," another patrol member chimed in.

Everyone looked up to see the sun already beginning to set.

Viewed from this elevation, the sun appeared significantly larger.

The seemingly touchable white clouds were now dyed in the golden afterglow, painting an exceptionally vibrant and dazzling landscape.

"It's so beautiful!"

Ning Fei sighed as he gazed into the distance.

Yang Xu also stared at the distant sunset and nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Coming here as a volunteer, my dream was to see a scene just like this."

After quietly admiring the beautiful scenery for a while, the patrol team got back into their vehicles and headed straight for the Protection Station.

That night, the staff at the Protection Station offered Ning Fei accommodation, but he politely declined.

Rolling out his bedding inside his car was far more comfortable than sleeping in one of their rooms.

As Ning Fei lay under the covers, Little Fox and the three Xiao Heijiu immediately snuggled in. They lay by his shoulders, happily squeaking and meowing.

Little Dog tried to squeeze in as well. Ning Fei patted him and said, "You were digging in the dirt all day. You stay outside the covers!"

Hearing Ning Fei's words, Little Dog whimpered in grievance, but obediently lay against the outside of the covers, curling up to sleep.

Little Fei rested beside him.

The two birds stayed in the nest above.

The air conditioner in the car was running. It was a high-end system; the breeze it blew felt as refreshing as natural wind, and the temperature was perfectly comfortable.

The whole family lay neatly together in the car.

Feeling a bit sleepy, Ning Fei let out a yawn.

Following that, Little Fox yawned.

Then, the three Xiao Heijiu yawned one after another.

Little Dog chimed in with a yawn of his own.

Seeing this, Little Fei, who didn't know how to yawn, let out a soft "cluck" to join in with everyone else.

After that, everyone drifted off to sleep together.

It was an exceptionally beautiful night.
