Chapter 1391: Chapter 1391: A Smooth Beginning
Delacuri, transformed into a Sea of Blood, launched wave after wave of attacks on Pei Yan. In addition to the blood poison gradually spreading throughout the entire space, blood-red arrows shot out from within the Sea of Blood. At the same time, more than a dozen gigantic hands, waving and twisting like octopus tentacles, protruded from the Sea of Blood, encircling Pei Yan in mid-air, limiting his space to maneuver and dodge.
With the assistance of an evolved Mechanical Eye from the Divine Artifact, Pei Yan could easily calculate the trajectories of these blood arrows to elegantly evade the opponent’s heavy attacks. However, he didn’t do so; instead, Pei Yan dodged left and right in mid-air, narrowly avoiding Delacuri’s attacks every time, making himself appear to be in grave danger as if he was struggling to cope. He even occasionally allowed a blood arrow to brush past him deliberately. Observing the areas grazed by the blood arrow, he found that whenever his protective vital energy came into contact with a blood arrow, it was consumed and taken away by the energy in the arrow. The parts of his Mecha without the protection of vital energy, once splashed by even a bit of blood, glowed dark red as if being seared by high-temperature lava. The glow quickly dimmed, and if left unattended, the dark red spots would slowly expand and spread, continuously widening the erosion area.
Pei Yan could feel that if he continued to leave it unchecked for more than three minutes, even though he was presently in a mechanical body, the blood poison would seep into the interior of his chassis, causing harm to his physical bloodline. By then, it would be immensely difficult to clear the blood poison. Thinking of this, Pei Yan did not hesitate to swiftly sever and remove the infected parts of the body and reconstitute.
With all of these actions complete, Suzi finally informed him that the analysis was finished. All of a sudden, to Pei Yan, Delacuri, who had been churning the Sea of Blood, appeared to change. Where what seemed to be indistinct waves of sticky blood, various human organs hidden within — shifting positions constantly — were individually marked by Suzi: eyeballs, hearts, brains, and even that part was marked.
Seeing this heap of marked critical targets, Pei Yan was delighted and immediately stopped playing hide-and-seek with his opponent. No longer appearing disheveled and fleeing, he elegantly avoided attacks while swaying his body, one mechanical clone after another splitting out.
"Pei Yan, you don’t think such clumsy clones can divert my attacks from you, do you? You’re humiliating yourself!" With Delacuri’s mocking voice echoing throughout the space, his attack still focused on Yan’s true body, completely ignoring those mechanical clones. Under the Bloodline Tracking Technique, no matter how Pei Yan changed, Delacuri could find the source to attack it.
"Hehehe! Delacuri, let’s see whose methods turn out more clumsy, shall we?" Pei Yan said with a snap of his fingers. The ten mechanical clones he released unfolded two pairs of wings each behind them. In the next moment, bullets poured out like a storm, unleashing a nearly mad spray at different locations across the Sea of Blood.
Instantaneously, the Sea of Blood that Delacuri had condensed boiled like boiling water, with violently swirling waves revealing its core’s wrath and slight panic. Quickly locking and tracking with the Mechanical Eye, Pei Yan could see the targets hidden within, locked by him, swiftly teleporting and continuously shifting positions within the blood waves. No matter how they moved, the bullets fired by Pei Yan’s clones followed them closely as if they were shadows.
If it were merely ordinary bullet attacks, Delacuri would have little worry. However, each bullet in this downpour contained the ability of subconscious attacks, a power once granted to Pei Yan by the Lei Family girl before her death. It could imbue the opponent’s subconscious with the pain they had endured or imagined, making them believe they were truly under such an attack, hence generating corresponding damage in their bodies. Since this ability wasn’t as formidable as the Power of Origin, Pei Yan found applying it to ordinary bullets relatively effortless.
Originally, Pei Yan planned to transfer the destructive awareness of the annihilation ability into Delacuri’s body. But for some reason, perhaps because the annihilation ability was too overpowering, it exceeded the range that the subconscious ability could depict. Therefore, Pei Yan reluctantly lowered the standard, transforming the damage into fiery burns. Even so, amidst such a sweeping onslaught, although Delacuri could use the Sea of Blood to defuse most of the bullet attacks, the damage to his mental awareness was still unbearable, prompting him to unleash angry roars. Blood-red javelins rose one by one from the Sea of Blood, targeting those mechanical clones he had previously disregarded.
As the mechanical clones relentlessly pursued targets hidden within the Sea of Blood, Pei Yan, as the true body, leisurely walked through the high skies, his hands behind his back, observing the churn on the ground while grasping the Divine Artifact Revolver, occasionally pulling the trigger.
He didn’t need to specifically raise his hand to aim at targets; as long as they were locked by his Mechanical Eye, all he needed to do was pull the trigger, and upon firing, the bullets would slip into a spatial seam opened by another Spatial Divine Artifact, Interstice, within him. The seam on the other end would accurately open right in front of the targeted locations, enabling Pei Yan to become a Divine Spear marksman who would hit the target no matter the direction he fired.
Now, the residential district space was already filled with deafening machine gunfire. Pei Yan’s gunshots were entirely drowned out by the sound of machine guns; similarly, the bullets fired from his Divine Artifact Revolver also mixed quietly within the barrage, leaving one defenseless.
In this opportune moment, he aimed to take Delacuri’s life in one fell swoop. Five bullets infused with the Power of Annihilation were fired together, each aimed at Delacuri’s five vital points: the brain, both eyes, heart, and throat. Given Pei Yan’s current strength, with the Annihilation Power imbued upon bullets, he could fire forty-five shots. If applied in the Thunder Observation Eight Techniques with a long spear, only four moves could be maintained. Completion would leave him exhausted, requiring at least half a month to fully reconsolidate the Annihilation Power.
Including a previously-fired test bullet, Pei Yan consumed six Annihilation Bullets in one go. Annihilation bullets require immense energy consumption; thus, within the next three minutes, all five chambers of Pei Yan’s revolver would remain in cooldown and unable to fire.
Bang! Bang!
Watching as the targets locked by the Mechanical Eye were simultaneously hit and shattered by the five hidden bullets, even Pei Yan couldn’t help but become excited. Though deep down he knew such attacks might not cause the downfall of a Heavenly Dao pinnacle, he still harbored a sliver of hope, longing for his adversary to really underestimate him, thereby granting him an opportunity to conclude this longstanding grudge pressing on his heart.
