Chapter 1365: Chapter 1365: Liu Family Sword Qi

Pei Yan was quite confident in Mei Simiao’s arrangements. If no one was set to protect Delacuri, it would raise suspicion. Four Heavenly Dao Experts were stationed to prevent any minor disturbances, ensuring Delacuri personally stepped onto the scene.

"Phew!" Pei Yan exhaled deeply, casually saying, "Everything in the hall is arranged, so I’m relieved. Is there anything else I need to do?"

"The timing of the action depends on you," Mei Simiao said, "Du Guangyuan finally completed the blood poison research targeting Delacuri at this last moment. It takes about a week to set the trap. If you think it’s time, we can use the message left by Delacuri to notify him to start trading and discuss the time and place. By releasing this signal, we aim to take the initiative in the upcoming transaction. I believe, out of revenge, he might consider targeting your family."

"Hmm! Makes sense!" After hearing Mei Simiao’s analysis, Pei Yan nodded contemplatively. "With experience from fighting Liu Xuanji and others, I feel slightly confident facing Heavenly Dao elites. However, after encountering Jue Liunian, my belief was shaken. He posed a unique threat unlike any other Heavenly Dao master."

"That’s understandable." Mei Simiao responded after a thought, "Those who join the Blood Fiend’s forces might be pressured by survival needs or tempted by benefits for their family. But people like Delacuri and Jue Liunian are probably more self-centered. After hearing your account of Jue Liunian’s past, I’m more convinced. He might not have descendants, which is unknown. I suspect he doesn’t. His life’s pursuit is advancing in the Sword Dao, far from easy at his level. Blood Fiend might tempt him only this way."

If Heavenly Dao elites break through again, they’d touch the Power of Origin! Would Candle Dragon grant them such power?" Though Mei Simiao’s speculation seemed correct, Pei Yan found it hard to believe. He decisively said, "Regardless, I need a month for preparation. The longer the delay, the greater the variables. My power sealed in the right eye is dissolving slowly and won’t be ready for this task, but the fusion of the soul in the left eye has accelerated. I believe it can be completed in a month. Meanwhile, I’ll learn the Thunder Observation Eight Techniques of the Infinite Thunder Sect and the Liu Family stacking techniques to enhance my strength."

"A month’s time is ample for this plan. Good! I’ll notify Old Gu now. Oh, by the way! Once you’re ready, bring your junior sister, that young girl, back to the family area again. Let Delacuri confirm that’s his target. Introduce the child to your parents too. They can take care of her until the storm settles, after which we’ll find a suitable nanny for your parents and the child’s daily life." Seeing Pei Yan’s decision, Mei Simiao stood up to reply.

"Those are minor matters. I trust the arrangements in the hall."

After sending off Mei Simiao, Pei Yan felt quite relieved. The entire Immortal Palace was in turmoil over the White Deer Institute. He wanted to visit the Infinite Thunder Sect to learn the Thunder Observation Eight Techniques, but now wasn’t the right time. So, he decided to rest well for a night and plan once things calmed down a bit in the coming days.

Three days later.

Sitting in the room, Pei Yan maintained a posture with closed eyes without saying a word. The ignorant might think he was dozing off, but the faint Sword Qi emanating from his body and the tiny sword marks on the walls and bed corners sliced by the Sword Qi demonstrated his numerous attempts these past days.

Clearly, Pei Yan underestimated the Liu Family stacking techniques. Although he has an artificial intelligence in his brain allowing multitasking, not having to manage the Sword Qi’s internal division process, quick brain allocation doesn’t mean the body can keep up. Even with Pei Yan’s sturdy physique, he struggled greatly in this process. He could only imagine how hard it would be for swordsmen without artificial intelligence. They would have to recognize Sword Qi conversion rules and note its frequency while attending to their body’s condition and strategizing combat moves. It must take immense dedication and time to integrate all three aspects.

He’s grateful for his choice now, as the Liu Family stacking techniques proved to be one of the most suitable cultivation techniques for him. Within three days, he managed to run the Liu Family stacking techniques up to the eleventh layer internally. Though this was achieved while sitting still, entirely focused on the stacking technique, and not yet applicable for actual combat, such advancement would astonish Liu Xuanji.

"Phew!" As he breathed in and out, a bit of Sword Qi escaped Pei Yan’s mouth, dissipating into the air. Hearing footsteps from downstairs, he dispersed the accumulated cultivation techniques internally. Before the visitor could knock, he spoke first, "Is anything the matter?"

"Embroidered Robe Envoy Xiang Zixiong is requesting to see you." came the voice of Wang Wenze from outside.

"Alright! Please wait a moment." Pei Yan replied, stood up, grabbed a wet towel to wipe his face, and changed his jacket before stepping out the door. He collided with the friend standing at the entrance. Wang Wenze peered curiously into the room. Over the past three days, they’ve heard quite a racket from in there but refrained from disturbing Pei Yan due to his instructions. Now looking around, the room appeared like a battlefield after a clash, with crisscrossing fine sword marks everywhere. As Wang Wenze took a deep breath in shock, the bed, which had endured the most Sword Qi erosion, finally gave way with a clatter.

"Uh, can you still stay in this room?" Wang Wenze asked, puzzled.

Pei Yan scratched his head awkwardly, replying, "Next time, I’ll practice outside, not in the room. Please arrange another room for me. For now, don’t enter this room; there’s residual Sword Qi left. Clean up after a week."

"Got it." Wang Wenze nodded, carefully closing the door from outside as he spoke.

Descending the stairs, Pei Yan saw Xiang Zixiong waiting in the hall again. His face showed weariness but even more excitement likely because the news of Embroidered Robe Envoy’s official residence in the Immortal Palace recently came through. Their efforts for some time finally paid off.

He’s unaware of the investigation’s progress. Pei Yan had been deeply immersed in the Liu Family stacking techniques study these past three days, knowing little of external developments.
