Chapter 1237: Chapter 1237: Arrangements

The initial reason for recruiting these experts from the new demonic noble factions, who had ill intentions towards me, was to resolve the lack of skilled personnel in the investigation hall. However, as Xia Yu and others became Children of Origin and my power grew daily, these two minions, once valued for their combat strength, have now become insignificant. Moreover, as soon as I returned, I was so busy running around that there was no time to take them along. Now, they have already come under the management of my sister.

I am still confident in their loyalty. The fragments of the law integrated into them back then were imbued with source energy through my unique techniques. Should I wish, I could make them endure unbearable pain at any moment. During their time with me, due to my influence, they were seen by the Demon God as potential tools for gaining my allegiance and monitoring me. Thus, they were rewarded generously, and their strength improved, making them even more committed to staying by my side to serve.

"It’s you! Is there something outside?" Pei Yan finished wiping his face and absentmindedly asked while dressing by the bed.

"The Embroidered Robe Envoy wishes to meet you, Master."

"Oh!" Pei Yan responded with a nod and smile, thinking it was about time, and continued asking, "Who is here? How long have they been waiting?"

"It’s the deputy envoy you injured yesterday along with his brothers. They arrived in the morning and were told you were resting, so they have been waiting in the hall ever since without leaving. Lord Pei Jin instructed me to wait here so I could inform you upon your awakening, and if convenient, you might meet them downstairs." Dalles responded with respect, kneeling on one knee, not daring to look up.

"Alright! Got it!" Pei Yan had just put on a boot and was about to wave him off but remembered something, lowered his raised hand, and smiled at Dalles, "I saw your sister in the Hell Plane. Due to my negligence, she was wronged, but I have wiped out the family that bullied her and found a good person to take care of her, which is Sifuer. Have you contacted her? Is she doing well now?"

"Uh..." Dalles hesitated at the question, swallowed back his words, and finally said, "My little sister sent a family letter through Lord Xila, she and my mother are now living well. Thank you for securing my family’s noble status and removing any remaining worries."

"Oh, it’s nothing to mention; you’ve been by my side for five years with both merits and hardships. This reward is well-deserved. I originally intended for you to reunite with your family after my return, but my sister told me that neither of you wants to leave?" Pei Yan asked as he finished putting on his boot and adjusted his shirt.

"Master, ever since you took us under your command, we have been your servants. Lord Xila once conveyed the Demon God’s command for us to serve Prince Silver Wing until death, ensuring our family will be well cared for, and our descendants will inherit noble status." Dalles lowered his head further, responding truthfully.

"Oh, I see! Then I won’t force you; you may stay. Oh, right!" Pei Yan, now fully dressed, sat back beside the bed and lamented, "After the competition, I should have seen Xila once. She seemed to have something to discuss with me, but with one thing after another, three months have passed. Is she still on the Daoist Plane?"

"To answer you, Master, the current stalemate between the coalition and the Blood Demon Army is precarious, requiring manpower. Thus, Demon God called Lord Xila back. She left the Daoist Plane a month ago."

"Alright then, I will clear it up when I see her next." Pei Yan said, taking out five jade boxes from his storage ring. On his trip to the Dragon Realm, besides gathering numerous Power of Origin and acquiring Hu Jiu as a subordinate, he also collected treasures from the two clans while wandering around. The Spirit Monster Plane is known for its rich resources, so naturally, there were plenty of artifact refining and potion-making materials, with these boxes containing some of the finest.

Pei Yan first took out two jade boxes with slightly lower-grade items and handed them to Dalles, saying, "Here is the Dragon Blood Moon-Closing Grass, which is very beneficial for strengthening oneself. You may not have use for it, but if your juniors use it in a suitable manner before reaching five stages, it could greatly improve their physique, increasing the chance of entering the upper-tier Demon Race. You probably know better than I how to use it. You two can share these."

"Thank you for your generosity, Master!" Dalles expressed excitement, for the first time raising his head to accept the jade boxes with trembling hands.

Having secured their loyalty for appearances sake, Pei Yan continued with the remaining three jade boxes, "Yesterday on the Long Street, I asked Liu Xuanji of Hongjun Sword Furnace for a top-grade spear training diagram. He agreed and said I could pick it up today! I thought if I or my colleagues went personally, it would seem aggressive, and I don’t want to strain relations with Hongjun Sword Furnace yet. After some thought, you two are the most suitable for this. Publicly, you are my confidants and household clerks; bring these three generous gifts, be humble and low-key, not arrogant, give them face by exchanging gifts for the spear manual. Can you manage this small task?"

"To answer you, Master, I will ensure this task is completed satisfactorily." Dalles raised both hands above his head as he stored the items from Pei Yan.

"Good!" Pei Yan said, putting the jade boxes into Dalles’ hands and looking out the window at the sunset, instructing, "Don’t delay, head there now, and return swiftly once done."

"Yes!"

As Dalles’s figure disappeared from sight, Pei Yan, having dealt with another matter, sighed in relief. When he stepped out of the room and slowly descended the stairs, Jiang Feiyang, stationed at the stairs, chuckled, "Yo, Young Master Pei is up. Hurry and take a look, they’ve been waiting all day, not urging, not leaving, just sitting there in the lobby, making it difficult for us to even eat nearby. If they hadn’t repeatedly refused to dine with us, I’d suspect they’re here to crash for some food in revenge!"

"Hahaha," Pei Yan laughed as he walked over to Jiang Feiyang and asked, "What do you make of their intentions? Can you pick up any clues?"

"Hard to say, but I think they’re not here to cause trouble. I noticed they brought two big boxes; no idea what’s inside. We couldn’t ask in your absence," Jiang Feiyang smacked his lips as he analyzed.

"Ah! If they’re not causing trouble, they must be here for talks, which saves me a lot of hassle. Let’s go, Young Master Jiang, join me to see what’s in those boxes!"
