Chapter 1225: Chapter 1225: Xiang Zizhen

"Who will be in charge of the Embroidered Robe Envoy after Lin Daozi leaves?" Pei Yan asked calmly after listening to Mei Simiao.

"Xiang Zizhen, one of the sub-commanders under the twelve Commanders of the Embroidered Robe Envoy, is responsible for the investigation group’s coordination after Lin Daozi leaves." Mei Simiao blurted out.

"Where is Lin Daozi now?"

"He returned here two days before you. I reckon he’s having headaches dealing with this mess now."

"Hehehe, then I’ll cure his headache. Old Zheng! Go to where the Embroidered Robe Envoy is staying and invite Lin Daozi to bring his group here to meet me." Pei Yan had already formulated a plan in his mind and commanded with a cold laugh.

"Alright!" Zheng Jia Ru, who was eager to act, readily agreed and strode outside the hall with a smile.

After giving the order, Pei Yan looked towards Gu Shenghui and asked, "Does the hall have any special opinions on this matter?"

"No, we’re also quite dissatisfied! If it weren’t for you coming to handle this, we also would have filed complaints and dealt with it. But due to your connections with the Immortal Palace, it’s more appropriate for you to handle this. Also, be mindful to only punish the main offenders and not the accomplices, as our relations with the Immortal Palace are already tense. There’s no need to aggravate things with Spirit Lord Lin’s confidant, the Embroidered Robe Envoy." Gu Shenghui, while chewing betelnut, responded casually without raising his head.

"Good! Having your support gives me confidence." With Gu Shenghui’s assurance, Pei Yan felt reassured, then pointed towards a corner and called out, "Hu Jiu, have you sorted things with your wife?"

"Hey, sort what! She’s already cooled off, Third Brother, just say what you want!" Hu Jiu replied with a nonchalant grin.

"Didn’t she want us to give her people an explanation? Let her lead her people with the corpses and follow us." After saying this, Pei Yan glanced back at Wang Wenze, who was leaning on a cane trying to stand up, and said displeased, "Brother, why are you still using a cane?"

"Uh, hopping will do too." Wang Wenze hesitated, glanced at his injured leg, and responded hesitantly.

Pei Yan was amused by this and said with a smile, "I meant sitting on a stretcher! Feiyang, Brother Jiang! Help carry him." With that, he conjured a sedan chair carried by two people in front and back for Wang Wenze.

This time, Wang Wenze was dumbfounded and watched as Jiang Feiyang and Jiang Donghu came around, helplessly saying, "Is it necessary? My injury is almost healed! Isn’t this a bit over the top?"

"Don’t you get it? By pretending to be more severely injured, it’s easier to make the other side yield! I endured the injuries without treatment back then to demand more ’medical expenses’ when seeking payback! You’ve got to learn more from your brother!" Jiang Feiyang gave a pat on Wang Wenze’s belly, jokingly pressed him into the sedan chair, and lifted it with Jiang Donghu.

Having arranged everything, Pei Yan walked towards the exit of the hall. At the doorway he paused, noticing Ye Ruozai standing there who came along with Gu Shenghui, burdened with concerns and wanting to speak several times but stopped himself. Pei Yan took the initiative to approach and quietly asked, "Is there something you want to say?"

"Yes, there’s something important, but it’s not urgent. Let’s talk in detail after you’ve handled matters here."

"Alright, I’ll handle these affairs first." With Ye Ruozai’s words, Pei Yan didn’t linger, stepping out of the hall. As he did, Zheng Jia Ru, who had run to deliver the message, had returned and swiftly approached, whispered a few words, and handed him a note.

Pei Yan opened it and chuckled, asking, "What? Lin Daozi refuses to come in person?"

"Yes!" Zheng Jia Ru nodded, gloating, "He understood the situation as soon as I sought him. He likely knows there’s no one he can plea to here, so to avoid embarrassment, he asked me to pass this note to you instead of coming himself to suffer."

"Hehehe, quite wise of him." Hearing the footsteps outside the courtyard, Pei Yan held the note in his hand, signaling with a wave to Hu Jiu, who in turn gave a signal to two women next to him, hinting something silently. While Hati was still confused, Tushan Suisui quickly returned inside. Moments later, she and her subordinates arranged two armchairs in the courtyard.

Hu Jiu gave Tushan Suisui an approving nod, then he and Pei Yan promptly sat down. No one in the courtyard had any objections. Gu Shenghui and Mei Simiao stayed inside, clearly indicating they entrusted Pei Yan with handling things fully. In terms of power, reputation, and current position, Pei Yan was qualified to sit down, and Hu Jiu, now being the Young Master of the Dragon Realm, representing its image outside, was also entitled to sit with Pei Yan.

The moment they settled, the owner of the footsteps outside stepped through the courtyard gates, traversing the corridors to enter. Seeing the two seated inside and the ensuing setup, the visitor knew well the matter wouldn’t end peacefully today, especially as they were in the wrong. Quickly stepping forward and bowing, they greeted, "Deputy Commander of the Embroidered Robe Envoy, Xiang Zizhen, at Lin Daozi’s command, here to greet Lord Pei."

"So you’re Xiang Zizhen!" With his eyes shut due to a seal, Pei Yan leaned back in the armchair, basking in the warmth of sunlight on his skin, and lazily queried.

"Indeed, that’s me."

"Do you know why you were summoned?"

"Uh...!" Pei Yan’s fierce reputation had long spread across the Daoist Plane. Though he now seemed like an elderly gentleman, in Xiang Zizhen’s eyes, his aura was inherently imposing. Cautiously fearing he replied, "I know, because..."

"Good that you know!" Pei Yan interrupted without letting Xiang Zizhen finish, pulled a folding fan from his dimensional ring, fanning himself while saying indifferently, "I’m heading to the Hongjun Sword Furnace to seek justice for my fallen comrades. Sadly, my words might not hold sway against the veteran Sword Sect leaders in the Magic Realm. Hence, I’d like to borrow something from you, the Deputy Commander, to bolster my presence."

"Uh, what might Lord Pei wish to borrow?" Xiang Zizhen’s unease eased upon hearing this. If external objects could settle this disaster and resolve the calamity, it seemed a viable choice. However, Pei Yan was infamous for being relentless and demanding, leaving Xiang Zizhen unsure of what his demand might entail.

With a crisp snap, Pei Yan closed the fan, pointed it at Xiang Zizhen, and smiled, "Nothing rare or valuable, I just wish to borrow your head for a while, Commander Xiang."

"Ah!" Xiang Zizhen exclaimed, retreating in shock, viewing all around. Everyone behind Pei Yan wore expressions of jest or malice, confirming this wasn’t a joke. Panicked, he shouted, "Lord Pei, are you planning violence inside the Immortal Palace?"
