Others Summon, I Forge Beast Armor
Chapter 157: The Wastes [III]
Scarlett was a girl destined to hold power and rule.
She has a strong presence, and she is steadfast, royal, and prestigious from head to toe. But she was still just a girl, with feelings and emotions like anyone else.
Since childhood, Scarlett was trained to fit inside her aunt’s mold.
It means she’s meant to be like her aunt when she grows up.
Her aunt is cold, cruel, and unmerciful. Such qualities are expected from the dominant Order on the planet. So, her family wanted her to become that kind of person, and if not for Luke, she would have ended up exactly there, a second Brienne.
So Luke was the best thing that had ever happened to her.
He was the kind of person you can’t stay angry at.
He was aloof about everything, and even when you wanted to pin blames on him, he never takes it.
Scarlett wanted them to clear this Origin Realm and uncover the treasures. Her father may accept Luke after that, but he _will_ accept him when Luke shows him his strength.
Scarlett wanted Luke to show her father his strength because she was tired of everyone taking him for a failure.
After kissing, Luke noticed that Scarlett was troubled.
"There’s someone she doesn’t want to tell me," Luke thought. "If it is something that could harm both of us, she’d have said it already. Since she hasn’t, most likely it would only hurt one of us, the other just heartsick over it. So she’s swallowing it down."
Thud!
"Ow!"
Luke gritted his teeth, clutching his toes.
"Hahaha!" Amigo laughed like an old man watching his son fumble around.
"Did you just try to kick me?"
"Yeah. I wanted to kick you away for peeking at our faces. What the hell is your shell made of?"
"This is nothing but the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise shell," Amigo said. "Be grateful I’m not wearing the Primordial Glyptodon Shell!"
"You and this Primordial Glyptodon, always bragging," Scarlett said. "Since you had that form once, can you turn back into it?"
"Of course, with pleasure, beautiful woman," Amigo said. "I’ve lived over a million forms. That means I can take a million forms."
Amigo shrank back into his shell. This is for transformation.
When he emerged, his body was like mud dragged and stretched from many sides; then it came back together, took one shape, and looked different.
This time, he was the size of a car. The shell was undeniably unbreakable, made of plates, uncountable, meteorites put together, fastened over a dome. Short head, two eyes, a mouth shaped like a human’s. The tail was like a club, and you could tell at this glance it was made for smashing anyone who disturbed it.
Luke looked on with envy.
Pity, this was a prehistoric beast. Older than the Yggrin Era, long buried by time.
He asked: "When you change to these progenerate forms. Do you still have the Heavenly Immortal Tortoise’s abilities? Like being Immortal?"
"I do," Amigo replied. "Put it the other way around, as a Heavenly Immortal Tortoise, I can use the abilities of every form of my ancestors in the River of Evolution. Changing back is just for convenience, for things tied to the physicality. Taking up space, taking a punch, etcetera, etcetera."
"Then among your million forms, are there any that can fight? Or are they all Support, Defense, and Survive?"
"Unfortunately, not one of them is a killer. Mostly defense, mostly staying alive is in our DNA. But I can fight well enough to get by. Take this tail, for example.
This tail is the hardest part of the Primordial Glyptodon. Swing it, and it can smash mountain rock. A single hit from it will turn anything below the Mythic-grade into mincemeat on the spot!"
"If that is the case," Luke said, "go to that rock over there, there are a few Decay Hounds. Use your tail to deal with them.
For your first time fighting, I need to give you some pointers: your shell is hard, so hide inside, stick your tail out, and swing it left and right to whip them."
"But Master, I’m here to provide support—" Amigo cried out.
"Go ahead, Mr. Glyptodon," Luke interrupted. "I know you can do it, you just don’t want to move."
Amigo couldn’t argue with his master, muttering as he walked to the rock.
Slow. So slow!
The Primordial Glyptodon, heavy as a car, carrying that meteorite shell, moved at a snail’s pace!
This also shows that Amigo can transform into a million forms, choosing whichever is useful. There’s a faster one, but faster may mean weaker defense.
Grrrrrr....
Amigo reached the Decay Hounds. The pack of ugly things pounced on him.
As Luke instructed, he retreated into his shell. The Decay Hounds clawed and bit, using everything they could, but couldn’t break through the Primordial Glyptodon Shell.
Unprecedentedly, Amigo used Primordial Cycle technique.
Primordial Cycle technique was a reversing technique. This technique can be accomplished by beings at Amigo’s level and department.
Using it, Amigo forced the Beta-level Decay Hounds back to some of their ancestral forms. These old forms are tremendously weaker than what the Decay Hounds are currently.
So, with a swipe of its tail, Amigo smashed them all, one after another.
[You killed a Decay Hound] x7.
Scarlett’s eyes widened: "Just now, did it just regress their evolution, turning them into harmless creatures, before killing them?"
"Is my beast still that cunning turtle you first met?" Luke said. "Yes."
Amigo returned triumphantly, full of smug pride, and said, "You can’t say I cheated. I used my own abilities, so it’s not cheating."
Luke wanted to refute it because what if they encountered something that could withstand that trick?
Serpahina has first experience of being humbled. Amigo would be next soon enough.
But after thinking about it, Luke realized Amigo had Evolved too high, hence, very few things in this world could resist him.
That said, if something could withstand the "Primordial Cycle Technique," it could likely defeat Amigo at the same time. At that point, what use would a hard tail be?
"Alright," Luke said. "Can this technique be used on Bo and Lan? Can we evolve them directly into Dark Dragonlord? Wouldn’t that be a big shortcut?"
"No, Master," Amigo said. "This technique is a regressing technique. And it can only be used on things with weak Will. If I could just use it on any beast and anyone like that, it means I can regress the whole of humanity to nothing if I was evil. So, yes, the technique is not that broken."
Luke clenched his fist: "I knew there was a catch!"
"Hey, why are you fiercely satisfied, Master?! You don’t want me strong??"
Scarlett giggled at what she was seeing, and she said, "You two are really putting on a show.
Amigo, this ability of yours is still very powerful. If you wear a person’s Will down first, then it will work. And Luke, stop being a tyrannical beast master. Now, we must find the Origin Realm. Your root has reached its end."
"The Origin Realm is close by," Amigo said. "Be careful. With Nature’s Call, I can feel a Guardian..."
Luke gripped his spear tightly and Scarlett raised her spirits to the full as they became extremely vigilant.
Scarlett was right about the root coming to an end. But the place remained the same—after all, this was Nemo’s Point.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake.
And the ground blew open afterwards.
A monster crawled out of the soil. Ugly. Strange. Hard to say what it even was.
It was very big and unbeautiful and it took Scarlett and Luke many seconds to realize it was a lion.
〖Guardian: Dancing Lion.〗
The lion had a giant head that was unrealistic because the rest of its body was tiny, which logically cannot hold up that head.
The lion also had a blade just as huge, and it moved fast, tilting east, twisting west, with no moves set to it at all.
WHOOSH!
The first thing Luke did was throw his spear to buy himself and Scarlett a breath to take in the aggro of the Dancing Lion.
FWOOSH! FWOOSH! FWOOSH!
Unexpectedly, the Dancing Lion dodged his spear and all 11 turns that came with it by twisting sideways in midair, like clothes spinning in a washing machine. However Luke’s spear bent, the Dancing Lion parried it.
After dodging, the Dancing Lion came at them like a comet.
BOOOM!
A crater opened in the ground.
Luke Summoned his Lightning Dragon Wing-Guards.
The Lightning Dragon Wing-Guards helped him stop rolling before he went too far, unhurt.
He wanted to help Scarlett too, but she helped herself, using "Echo" to copy a pair of the Empyrean Phoenix’s wings.
"This fight isn’t one for you two," Luke said, dismissing the Dark Dragonlord Primordial Twin Forms.
ROAAR!
The Dancing Lion roared again, spinning in mid-air, kicking up dust in its plight.
It was impossible to keep an eye on it, but Luke tried nevertheless.
He used the thick vines of the Olympus Serpent to try to pin the monster in place. At the same time, Scarlett released Flaming Fetters, trying to bring this mad thing to heel.
