Chapter 204: Vagabonds – The Sixth Knight
Was this it?
He never thought his life and that of his family would end like this. Andreas’ despair cleared from his eyes as he saw his son rise up and stand before them with his small hands stretched out. The boy was trembling with fear and yet was more defiant than him.
The goblins chuckled at the sight of this, and five of them left their rough formation. The ragged loincloths fluttered in the wind as their short, green legs moved rapidly.
Their small protruding bellies bounced ever so slightly as they flashed their crooked yellow teeth with their crude weapons in offensive positions.
“He’s going to die.” A man hiding in an abandoned building with a camera told his audience in horror as he watched the scene, already envisioning what was about to happen. He was a streamer, quite far from this area, but made his way here in order to stream this.
Two red gates appearing in a single place? It was historic, and his video would rake in millions of views. He would rise up the ranking like an eagle!
The streamer held his helmet, to which the camera was attached. People were commenting, most telling him to get out of there while a few urged him to save the kid.
“T-trust me, I’m no h-hero.” He stuttered, shivering even when it was flaming outside as the goblins closed in on the kid.
Suddenly, a golden portal opened up beside the burning tank, and a ten-feet-tall lean figure covered from neck to toe in a white cloak walked out with a long slender pole attached to an artistic silver axe blade etched with runes at his back.
Long graceful ears, taller than the top of his head, jutted out of this being who wore a helmet with sprawling branches made of gold. Every other part of this being’s face was covered except for the eyes and the long eyebrows.
“What is that?” The streamer gasped, shocked at Lysander’s arrival.
[No way! It’s a humanoid summon!]
[They’re cooked. Get out of there or you’re next!]
[They’re not even out of the frying pan and here comes the fire. Right into the pan!]
While comments popped up on the screen, Lysander, Godfrey’s new Knight Commander, took one bold step and his cloak fluttered backward, revealing his exquisite golden armor.
Lysander, now a 14.5 Throne Tier knight, vanished, reappearing behind the goblins close to George.
The streamer’s mouth widened as he saw all the goblins had already lost their heads. As if that wasn’t enough, Lysander charged toward the horde.
Though he wielded an axe, he moved so gracefully that it seemed his feet never touched the floor. His cloak’s fluttering was accompanied with the splashing of blood and decapitated heads.
In what seemed to be a split moment, over a hundred green-skinned goblins were killed. A hobgoblin pushed the smaller green-skinned goblins aside and roared at Lysander.
His roar ripped the asphalt off the ground and sent cars flying, but Lysander stood there like he wasn’t part of the chaos. He was far stronger than the goblin, and that only dawned on the hobgoblin when it lost its head.
’This power…’ Lysander thought as the goblins clamored toward him. ’I never thought this was possible.’
He touched a part of his chest plate where his False Heart drummed with mana, his eyes gleamed bright as the hobgoblins charged at him with their inferior species.
Lysander could feel it. All this strength surging through his veins was like the faraway sight of a tsunami. It looked frightening, but fear never truly settled in because of the distance.
That was how he could explain his strength. It was powerful, but there was an even greater strength within him. One that begged to be set loose, it gnawed at his consciousness, a different part of him.
It wasn’t him. Lysander knew this quite well, as this was the Snow Elf Commander, a demon to his kind, urging him to use his strength.
’Black-Out…’
The moment Lysander brought down that limiter, his armour transformed as if blood poured on him. His white graceful cloak that covered his entire body turned black, the sun became crimson with golden rays, and the sclera of his eyes turned black while his irises turned white like frost.
His tier rose to 15.5, the peak of the Throne Tier, and with his armour and skills, he could go against a 16.0 Saint Tier.
Before his might, these goblins were ants!
Lysander swung his axe, and a cold, misty air blew out, enveloping the place like a fog.
When it died down, only Lysander stood there, surrounded by sliced frozen corpses. Hundreds of them. His speed was so great that to Andreas, George, the streamer, and everyone watching his stream, it was like he just swung his axe once and fog, which barely lasted much, killed all the goblins!
“Uh… Di… did… y-you see—?!” The streamer couldn’t complete his sentence. His widened eyes trembled with disbelief as he stared at the crimson elf knight whose black cloak had now covered his armour once again, leaving only his helmet.
He could see nothing except the elf knight’s eyes. The knight scanned through his kill with a gaze that couldn’t be deciphered.
[Humanoid summons are cool. I can’t stop myself from saying this.]
[My God, is that an elf?! Elf summons are so rare. Most humanoids are ugly orcs or creepy-skinned people, but elves are just so graceful.]
The streamer’s eyes twitched. Did these people even fully register what just happened?
That humanoid summon killed about a hundred Lord Tier and several hundred lower-tiered monsters in a short span, and from the looks of it, this summon didn’t just throw one wide-area destroying skill but sliced through each and every one of them.
His legs weakened at the thought of this, but then he saw Lysander turn and walk toward George.
Those watching his stream went wild, with some pleading for the knight not to kill the innocent family while others just stated that they knew the humanoid would kill them eventually.
…
A/N: I’m sorry for the one Chapter and the one day miss. I’ve been very busy trying to put my home in order since Monday morning.
I really don’t like moving around, it just makes me feel disconnected but I’m back now and our two Chapters a day schedule will return.
