Chapter 82

"Big brother... I’m glad... I’m so glad that you came..."

Iris spoke through her tears, her voice trembling uncontrollably as streams of tears rolled down her cheeks. The despair that had consumed her only moments ago was gradually giving way to relief and happiness. She had genuinely believed that she was going to die, that she would never get the chance to see her big brother again, and that the last thing she would ever experience was the sight of the monster about to tear her apart.

Yet, somehow, he had come.

He had appeared right before her at the very moment she had lost all hope, standing between her and the monster that had been about to end her life. The sight of his familiar figure was enough to make all the fear she had been desperately holding back pour out of her, leaving her unable to stop crying even as happiness filled her heart.

The white figure finally turned his head.

His rainbow-colored eyes settled upon Iris’s tear-filled gaze, and for the briefest instant, something stirred deep within those majestically calm eyes.

Rage.

Intense, terrifying rage.

It was buried so deeply beneath his otherwise tranquil expression that an ordinary person would never have noticed it. His face remained calm, his posture composed, and his breathing steady, but beneath that seemingly unshakable serenity lay a cold fury that threatened to consume everything in its path.

Someone had dared to threaten the lives of the people he cared about.

Someone had nearly taken his little sister and mother away from him.

And for that, they would pay.

Meanwhile, Eleanor had also turned toward the figure Iris had called her brother, staring at him with an expression filled with uncertainty.

At first, she couldn’t quite recognize him.

The white hair, the immaculate white clothes, and the extraordinary aura surrounding him were all so different from the Orion she remembered. The boy she had raised was no longer standing before her in the same familiar appearance. Instead, a majestic figure with rainbow-colored eyes had appeared, carrying a presence so extraordinary that it seemed almost beyond human comprehension.

However, her uncertainty didn’t last long.

The moment Eleanor looked into his eyes, everything changed.

Those eyes...

She could never mistake them.

She was the person who had raised Orion from the time he was a child. She had watched him grow, seen his expressions countless times, and learned to recognize even the smallest details that made him who he was. She knew her son better than almost anyone else, and no change in appearance could make her forget the child she had raised.

Even if his hair turned white and his eyes became rainbow-colored, she would still recognize him.

Without a shred of doubt, this was Orion.

Her Orion.

Eleanor’s eyes widened slightly as the realization settled in. The emotions she had been struggling to contain suddenly surged within her chest, leaving her momentarily unable to speak. Relief, disbelief, and happiness mingled together as she stared at the son she had thought she might never see again.

Orion turned toward the two of them.

He leaned down and gently wiped the tears from his mother’s and sister’s faces. His movements were unexpectedly tender, a stark contrast to the merciless figure who had just severed a monster’s arm without the slightest hesitation. Then he reached out and gently patted Iris’s head, treating her with the same familiar affection he had always shown her.

"I’m glad that you’re alright," Orion said calmly.

His voice was soft, carrying a warmth that seemed to ease some of the fear still lingering in their hearts. Despite everything happening around them, he took the time to reassure them, making it clear through his actions that their safety mattered more to him than anything else at that moment.

For a brief moment, the terrifying atmosphere surrounding them seemed to fade.

He was still the same Orion they knew.

Despite his changed appearance and the extraordinary power radiating from his body, he was still their family, the same person who had always been there for them.

"Stay back... I’ll come for you later, okay?"

Iris nodded.

She wanted to say more. There were so many things she wanted to tell him, so many questions she wanted to ask, and so many emotions she could barely contain after believing she was about to die. Yet, when she looked into his eyes, she found herself nodding obediently instead, trusting that he knew what he was doing.

She trusted him.

She had always trusted her big brother.

Eleanor, on the other hand, wanted to stop Orion.

She knew how dangerous the situation was. The bunker had already been breached, and countless monsters were gathering outside. Even if Orion had managed to save them from the Webfiend standing before them, she couldn’t help worrying about what might happen if he continued fighting.

She wanted to tell him to stay with them, to forget about fighting and find a way for the three of them to escape together. After all, he had only just returned, and the thought of losing him again was something she could hardly bear.

But when she met his gaze, the words caught in her throat.

There was something in those rainbow-colored eyes that made her stop. He wasn’t acting recklessly or rushing into battle without understanding the danger. He had made his decision, and she could tell that no amount of pleading would make him change his mind.

Eleanor eventually stopped herself and nodded.

"Be safe..." she muttered.

Orion flashed them a calm smile before turning around to face the monsters.

The Webfiends were looking at him with enraged expressions, their grotesque faces twisting as they growled in irritation. Their comrade had been injured right before their eyes, and the human responsible was standing directly in front of them as though he had done nothing more than swat away an annoying insect.

They wanted to tear him apart.

They would have attacked him a long time ago if not for the fact that Orion had used his telekinesis to create a force field around the area, preventing them from advancing any farther. The monsters had been forced to remain where they were, their bloodlust growing with every passing second as they struggled against the invisible barrier.

But now, that protection was about to disappear.

With a single step, Orion released the telekinetic barrier.

The Webfiends that had been pressing against it suddenly lost their support. Their bodies lurched forward, and several stumbled as they struggled to regain their footing, thrown off balance by the sudden disappearance of the force that had been holding them back.

That brief moment of imbalance was all Orion needed.

"Flash," he muttered calmly.

Whoosh!

His figure vanished.

Whoosh!

He reappeared on the other side of the cluster of monsters.

For a fleeting instant, nothing seemed to happen. The Webfiends remained standing, their grotesque bodies frozen in place as though they hadn’t even realized that the white-haired human had moved. Their attention was still focused on where Orion had been standing, leaving them completely unaware of what had just happened.

Then, in the next second, their bodies split apart.

Blood and flesh scattered across the floor as the monsters collapsed in pieces, their lives ending before they could even comprehend what had happened. The entire exchange had happened so quickly that anyone watching would have struggled to follow Orion’s movements, much less understand how he had managed to kill so many monsters in such a short time.

Ten Webfiends had been slain in what appeared to be less than a second or two.

The remaining monsters outside the bunker stiffened.

They had sensed it... the danger radiating from the white-haired human.

Their instincts, which had previously driven them to attack every human they encountered, suddenly screamed at them that something was wrong. The human standing before them wasn’t ordinary prey that they could overwhelm through sheer numbers, and the ease with which he had dispatched their companions made that painfully clear.

He had just slaughtered ten of their kind in the blink of an eye.

And yet, instead of running away, the Webfiends growled heavily.

Their eyes gleamed with irritation and hostility, their expressions twisting into something even more grotesque. Rather than retreating from the human who had demonstrated such a frightening level of strength, they seemed to grow even more agitated, their bloodlust refusing to let them back down.

They were annoyed.

Beyond measure.

Orion’s multicolored eyes remained unchanged, retaining the same majestic calm they had possessed from the beginning. There was no excitement on his face, no visible agitation, and no hint of fear as he faced the monsters surrounding him.

But deep within those eyes, the cold wrath had yet to fade.

Anyone or anything that threatened the lives of the people he cared about would pay for it with their lives, and he had no intention of showing mercy to the creatures that had nearly killed his mother and little sister.

Their deaths would be the worst they could ever experience.

With that thought, Orion became a blur once more, activating Flash as he rushed toward the remaining Webfiends.

What followed was a massacre.
