Orgasm Treatment
Chapter 312 - 310: Becoming Famous in the Company
Yue Feifei sighed and rubbed her temples. "I know. I’ll figure something out."
"I’ll get going, then. Call me if you need anything." Yang Xun waved at her, started his car, and drove off.
He headed straight to Xu’s Beauty Industry to check on how the company was doing. Ever since Yang Xun shattered the conference room table with a single palm strike, everyone in the company knew his name. Many female employees swooned over his domineering defense of his wife, finding him incredibly manly. Some of the male employees, however, thought he was just a poser—who was he trying to scare by slapping a desk? Completely unaware of his newfound fame, Yang Xun greeted the receptionist and headed straight upstairs.
In the office, Xu Yue was sitting on the sofa with a document spread out in front of her, holding a cup of hot tea. Seeing Yang Xun enter, she spoke with a hint of concern. "Where did you go last night? You didn’t answer your phone."
"I helped a friend with an emergency. My phone died, and I forgot to tell you." Yang Xun sat down next to her and casually took a sip from her cup. "How are things at the company?"
At the mention of the business, an irrepressible smile bloomed on Xu Yue’s face. "Orders for Ninghua Cream are still climbing, and the second batch of pre-sales is almost sold out. Meiyan Biotechnology has launched their new product too, but the response has been mediocre. A lot of the comments are saying it’s ineffective and they want refunds."
"Expected." Yang Xun finished the tea and poured himself another cup. "If Cheng Ye actually had the R&D capabilities, he wouldn’t have resorted to underhanded tactics to suppress us.
"But Meiyan Biotechnology is an established brand after all. They might have lost face this time, but their foundation remains. They won’t pose a threat to us in the short term, but we still need to be careful."
Xu Yue nodded and closed her document. "I plan to use this time to stabilize our footing and build up the reputation of Ninghua Cream. We’ll consider the next product once the market is stable."
Yang Xun was about to reply when his phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw Zhou Yuan’s name on the caller ID.
"Hello?"
"Xun, I have news about what you asked me to look into." Zhou Yuan’s voice was heavy with seriousness. "A friend of mine in Shunping poked around the Zhao Family’s neighborhood, and things don’t look right."
Yang Xun’s brows furrowed slightly. "Give me the details."
"The Zhao Family has definitely been restless lately. Zhao Hongshan hasn’t been seen since his car accident. The family claims an old illness flared up and he needs bed rest, refusing all visitors.
"The problem is, a few of Zhao Hongshan’s close old friends tried to visit him, but they were all turned away. They weren’t even allowed through the door.
"Moreover, Zhao Linglong hasn’t shown her face since she returned to Shunping. The Zhao Family claims she’s at home taking care of her father, but even if she were nursing Zhao Hongshan around the clock, she wouldn’t be so busy that she couldn’t even reply to a single message."
Yang Xun’s grip on his phone tightened. "What about Zhao Linglong’s stepmother? Is she at the Zhao Family home too?"
"People have seen Madam Zhao frequently visiting a law firm recently. She’s also been getting quite close to a wealthy local family in Shunping surnamed Ma."
"The Ma Family?"
"Yes. The Ma Family runs a building materials business in Shunping. They have an only son who’s not quite right in the head—to put it bluntly, he’s an idiot. Logically, with the Ma Family’s wealth, finding him a wife should be easy. But they have ridiculous standards. The bride must come from a prestigious background, be a virgin, beautiful, highly educated, and have a gentle temperament.
"Any family with an ounce of power refuses to marry their daughter off to a fool; it would make them a laughingstock. So, I think they might have set their sights on Zhao Linglong."
Hearing this, Yang Xun scowled and said in a deep voice, "I’m heading to Shunping right now. You don’t need to come with me. I bought a new car."
"I’ll text you a number then. If you run into any trouble in Shunping, contact my friend. He’ll help you out."
"Alright."
After hanging up, Yang Xun looked at Xu Yue, his tone apologetic. "Honey, I have an emergency and need to make a trip to Shunping. I haven’t been able to reach Linglong, and I’m a bit worried."
Xu Yue set down her documents and stood up, her eyes filled with concern. "What exactly is going on?"
"I’m not sure yet, but I have to go check it out as soon as possible."
"Be careful on the road, then. Send me a message when you arrive." Xu Yue walked up to him and reached out to adjust his collar. Her movements were as natural as if she had done it countless times. "Call me if you need any help."
Yang Xun looked down into her gentle eyes. A warmth blossomed in his chest as he reached out and lightly wrapped an arm around her waist. "I know."
He changed into clothes better suited for movement, grabbed his portable medical kit and silver needles, and drove to Jinfu Orchid Garden.
When the car pulled up to the villa’s entrance, Sun Rao was crouching in the yard, using a blade of grass to tease a little ginger cat. Seeing him return with a solemn expression, Sun Rao’s heart skipped a beat. "What happened?"
"I have an emergency and need to go to Shunping. Come with me," Yang Xun said.
Upon hearing this, a gleam flashed in Sun Rao’s uptilted phoenix eyes. She nodded without hesitation. "Alright, I’ll go with you."
Without even asking what it was about, she turned and went inside to grab a jacket, moving so swiftly it was as if she had been prepared all along. Watching her decisive demeanor, Yang Xun couldn’t help but marvel inwardly that although this girl had a unique background, she really was prime bodyguard material.
"Let’s go. I’ll fill you in on the details on the way."
They got into the car. Yang Xun stepped on the gas, and the black sedan drove smoothly out of the residential complex, heading straight for the highway to Shunping.
Over two hours later, the car entered Shunping City.
Yang Xun didn’t approach the Zhao Family’s home directly. Instead, he parked nearby and led Sun Rao around to the back wall of the Zhao family villa. The perimeter wall was high, but it posed no challenge to Yang Xun. He vaulted onto the top of the wall first and scanned the courtyard. Confirming no one was paying attention, he signaled to Sun Rao below.
Sun Rao took two steps back and broke into a running leap, clearing the wall cleanly and swiftly to crouch beside him on the ledge. The two moved soundlessly along the top of the wall until they neared the main structure of the villa, then slipped through a half-open window into the second-floor hallway.
The hallway was dead silent. It was lined with a thick carpet that muffled their footsteps completely. Yang Xun remembered where Zhao Linglong’s room was. He walked over quickly and gently turned the doorknob.
It was locked from the inside.
He pressed his ear against the wooden door for a moment, but there was no sound from within. Wasting no more time, Yang Xun condensed a wisp of True Qi at his fingertip, gently probed it into the keyhole, and gave it a slight twist.
With a soft CLICK, the lock gave way.
He pushed the door open. The room was completely empty. Yang Xun’s gaze rapidly swept across the space, noting that the quilt on the bed was folded perfectly and the items on the vanity were neatly arranged. It looked as if no one had lived there in a long time.
He frowned, backed out of the room, and continued his search down the hallway.
