Chapter 280 - 278: New Product Sells Well

Zhao Linglong reached out and gently took Yang Cai’s hand. Her voice carried a relieved smile. "Thank you, Xiaocai."

"You’re welcome! Since Yang Xun brought you here, he treats you as a friend. I live in a villa nearby, so it’s very close! If you ever get bored, you can come hang out with me!"

Zhao Linglong was a bit caught off guard by her enthusiasm, but she couldn’t help but smile. "Sure."

The two girls of similar age quickly hit it off. Their conversation moved from the living room out into the courtyard, shifting from their favorite snacks to good TV shows. They seemed to have an endless amount of things to talk about.

Yang Xun leaned back on the sofa, watching the backs of the two girls in the courtyard with an unconscious smile on his lips.

At that moment, the sound of a car engine shutting off came from outside, followed by familiar footsteps. Xu Yue pushed the door open and walked in. Her voice carried a rare excitement. Tossing her briefcase onto the coffee table, she looked as though she had been lit up by some incredible news. "The new product launched today!"

Xu Yue sat down beside him. Her beautiful eyes were sparkling as if hiding a whole starry sky. "It’s the first day our new product went online, and it’s already completely sold out! All of it!" She paused, her voice laced with disbelief and delight. "We prepared three thousand bottles, and they were snatched up in less than three hours. The back-end orders are still surging. I’ve already told the factory to work overnight to increase production!"

Yang Xun felt his own mood lift upon seeing her rare expression of pure joy. "That amazing? What’s the product called?"

"It’s called Ninghua Cream. It focuses on repair and whitening, and we added a special active ingredient to the formula." Xu Yue spoke much faster than usual, clearly still riding the high. "We did blind testing, and the results were better than the vast majority of similar products on the market. Even those picky review bloggers gave it glowing reviews."

"Xu Yue, I didn’t see anything! You guys continue!" Yang Cai covered her mouth, her eyes curving into crescents. Normally, Xu Yue maintained the image of a serious and no-nonsense career woman. Yang Cai had never expected to see her acting so girlish.

Zhao Linglong’s cheeks were also slightly flushed. She averted her gaze, looking elsewhere, though she couldn’t stop the corners of her mouth from twitching upward.

Xu Yue quickly let go of Yang Xun’s neck and sat up straight. She cleared her throat and spoke with feigned composure, "Um... regarding the new product, I still need to go to the company and keep an eye on the production progress."

She started to turn away but was grabbed by the wrist by Yang Xun.

"What’s the rush? You just got back and you’re leaving again? Rest for a bit." Yang Xun’s tone carried a teasing smile. "It’s not like we’re doing anything shameful. We’re an old married couple; what’s wrong with a little kiss?"

Xu Yue glared at him, but she couldn’t hide the smile in her eyes. She took the opportunity to sit back down on the sofa, then turned to Yang Cai with a more serious tone. "Xiaocai, you’re the number one contributor to the success of this new product. If you hadn’t connected me with that beauty milk supplier, our product formula wouldn’t have gone nearly this smoothly."

Xu Yue didn’t overthink it and nodded. "That works too. Then please pass on my gratitude to him. By the way, we might need a larger supply in the future. Could you ask if they can provide a stable supply?"

"S-sure thing!"

Yang Cai nodded hastily. A thin layer of cold sweat had already formed on her back, and panic gripped her heart. She was terrified that if Xu Yue asked any more questions, the truth would be exposed. If Yang Xun found out that she had taken a strange man’s swimmers just to make money, he would definitely be very disappointed in her.

Xu Yue didn’t press the matter further. She leaned back against the sofa and completely relaxed, closing her eyes with a satisfied smile lingering on her lips.

Looking at her relaxed state, Yang Xun hesitated for a moment before suddenly asking, "Xu Yue, how has your body been feeling lately?"

Xu Yue opened her eyes, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. Her voice softened. "Same as usual. Sometimes it feels... pretty uncomfortable."
