Orgasm Treatment
Chapter 262 - 261: Unmarried Man and Woman
Yang Xun shot Zhou Yuan a cold glance. "Can’t you think about something serious for once?"
"Isn’t this exactly what I’m doing?" Zhou Yuan looked innocent. "Neither of you is married. It’s about time you consider settling down."
Speechless, Yang Xun simply shook his head and quickly walked downstairs. Zhou Yuan followed close behind with a cup of coffee in hand, completely unable to suppress his grin.
At that moment, Zhao Hongshan was just walking out of his study. Seeing Yang Xun, he hurried over.
"Divine Doctor Yang! I was just looking for you!"
"What’s wrong?" Yang Xun stopped in his tracks.
Zhao Hongshan’s expression was grave. "We found the servant who was brewing the medicine last night."
Yang Xun raised an eyebrow. "Where did you find him?"
"In a river on the outskirts of the city. He was already dead when they found him. Drowned." Zhao Hongshan’s tone carried a lingering sense of dread. "The police initially ruled it an accidental drowning, but it’s far too much of a coincidence. He must have been murdered to be silenced. I just don’t know who would want to kill my Linglong."
After a few seconds of silence, Yang Xun spoke. "Mr. Zhao, I have a presumptuous request."
"Go ahead."
"I’d like to take Linglong to the police station."
Zhao Hongshan was visibly taken aback. "The police station? But Linglong’s health..."
"I’ve already regulated her condition; a short trip out won’t do any harm," Yang Xun said seriously. "Besides, you know that Miss Zhao’s persistent nightmares are related to the case the police were working on yesterday. If we don’t get to the bottom of it, her illness will never be fully cured."
Looking into Yang Xun’s calm, steady eyes, Zhao Hongshan finally gave a slow nod. "Divine Doctor Yang, I’ll allow Linglong to go, but you must guarantee her safety."
"Rest assured. I wouldn’t let her take any risks if I weren’t absolutely certain," Yang Xun said with conviction. "She can see things that ordinary people can’t. This is a unique advantage when it comes to solving cases."
"Alright. I’ll have a car take you there right away and arrange for a few bodyguards to accompany you." As Zhao Hongshan spoke, he sent his men to prepare the vehicle and personnel.
Yang Xun strode to Zhao Linglong’s door and knocked lightly twice.
"Come in."
He pushed the door open to find Zhao Linglong already dressed in a light blue dress. Her long, dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and she looked much more spirited than she had yesterday. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. "Why are you here?"
Yang Xun walked up to her, his tone earnest. "Linglong, did you see anything at the ancestral hall that day, or perhaps take anything with you?"
Zhao Linglong thought carefully before shaking her head. "No."
"Come with me to the police station in a bit. Your Yin-Yang Eye might be of use in helping find the killer. I just asked your father, and he agreed. But if you’re scared, I won’t force you." Yang Xun held her slightly cold hands, transferring his comforting warmth to her.
"I’ll go!" Zhao Linglong agreed without hesitation, breaking into a bright smile. "As long as you’re with me, I won’t be afraid."
"Good." Yang Xun smiled faintly, feeling that the girl was so well-behaved it made his heart ache for her.
The two of them walked out of the room. As they headed downstairs, Zhao Linglong’s footsteps suddenly faltered. She saw Madam Zhao standing in the living room, her cold gaze sweeping over her and Yang Xun.
"Where are you two going so early in the morning?" Madam Zhao’s tone was laced with displeasure.
"Dr. Yang is taking me to the police station." Although Zhao Linglong’s voice was soft, it held an unprecedented calmness.
Madam Zhao’s expression shifted slightly. "What are you going to the police station for? You’re a patient. You should be resting properly at home, not running around."
"I’m going to assist with an investigation." Zhao Linglong shrank back slightly, clearly intimidated by her stepmother.
Madam Zhao turned her scrutinizing, dissatisfied gaze to Yang Xun. "Dr. Yang, you’re taking a patient to the police station. If something happens, can you take responsibility?"
"I take full responsibility." Yang Xun’s voice was unhurried, yet it carried an unquestionable certainty. "I am very well aware of Zhao Linglong’s physical condition. She is fit to go out."
Madam Zhao opened her mouth, wanting to say more, but Zhao Hongshan had just walked in from the courtyard. "Enough. I agreed to let them go. Save your breath."
Madam Zhao’s face stiffened. She finally shut her mouth, though her eyes still harbored a trace of indignation. Without sparing her another glance, Yang Xun led Zhao Linglong out the front doors of the villa.
A black commercial van had been waiting at the entrance for quite some time. Zhao Hongshan had arranged for two bodyguards to accompany them, escorting them all the way.
The vehicle drove smoothly toward the city center. Sitting in the backseat, Zhao Linglong watched the streetscapes flashing past the window. Her expression seemed calm, but her fingers gripping the hem of her skirt tightened slightly, betraying her inner nervousness.
Sitting beside her, Yang Xun spoke softly, "Don’t be nervous. Once we get to the police station, just tell them what you know. Leave the rest to me."
Zhao Linglong hummed softly in agreement. As if drawing courage from his words, her fingers slowly released their grip on her skirt.
Soon, the car pulled up to the entrance of the Shunping City Police Station. The two stepped out to find a middle-aged man in a police uniform waiting for them. He appeared to be in his early forties, with a straight posture and a square jawline. His eyes revealed a unique sharpness and composure.
"Mr. Yang? I’m the vice-captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment at the Shunping City Police Station. My surname is Chen, but you can just call me Captain Chen." Chen Mingli proactively extended a hand, his tone polite. "We’ve already heard about yesterday’s case. It’s thanks to your timely discovery. Otherwise, who knows how long those bodies would have stayed buried underground."
"You’re too kind, Captain Chen. It was nothing," Yang Xun replied, shaking his hand. He then turned slightly to introduce his companion. "This is Zhao Linglong. She visited the ancestral hall back then and has some understanding of the scene of the crime."
Chen Mingli’s gaze fell on Zhao Linglong, and he gave a slight nod. "Hello, Miss Zhao. Thank you for your willingness to cooperate with the investigation."
Zhao Linglong smiled politely, her expression a bit reserved.
Chen Mingli led the pair through the front doors and into the police station. Zhao Linglong stayed close to Yang Xun’s side. Even though the police station was an imposing and solemn place, entirely free of wandering spirits, she still felt inexplicably nervous.
Bringing the two to a quiet reception room, Chen Mingli poured them each a cup of water before asking, "Mr. Yang, Miss Zhao, regarding those five bodies... do you have any new discoveries?"
Zhao Linglong proceeded to describe some of the scenes she had witnessed, causing Chen Mingli’s brow to furrow deeper and deeper. Truthfully, he found it hard to believe, but the girl didn’t seem to be lying.
Seeing through his thoughts, Yang Xun set down his cup of water and spoke up. "Captain Chen, I’d like to take Linglong to see those bodies. Perhaps she can find something."
