Chapter 174: Take Off Your Top

"Yue Feifei, look out!!"

Yang Xun’s shout was like a clap of thunder on a clear day, exploding across the empty street.

Yue Feifei was in the middle of fastening her helmet. Her body instinctively stiffened at the shout, and she reflexively glanced behind her.

At that glance, her pupils contracted violently.

A black Mercedes had somehow closed in to a dozen or so meters away. The front passenger window was halfway down, and a hand stretched out, holding an oddly-shaped white pistol aimed directly at her.

At the same time, the man inside the car was also startled by Yang Xun’s sudden yell. His wrist trembled slightly, but he pulled the trigger a moment later without hesitation.

WHOOSH!!

A silver glint of cold light shot through the air, so fast it was nearly impossible to track with the naked eye, tracing a frigid arc in the sunlight.

It wasn’t a bullet, but a Silver Needle.

Yue Feifei reacted with extreme speed, ducking her head to dodge the instant she saw the muzzle.

But the Silver Needle was far faster than she anticipated. Combined with the shooter’s poor aim, the needle missed her vitals and plunged directly into her chest.

"Ugh..."

Yue Feifei cried out in pain and tumbled off her motorcycle. Her helmet hit the ground with a CLATTER.

She clutched her chest with both hands, the pain on her face flashing away as her limbs began to go weak. She collapsed to the ground.

"Stay right there!"

Yang Xun pushed off explosively, his entire body shooting toward the Mercedes like a black shadow.

Seeing Yang Xun charge at him, a vicious glint flashed in the passenger’s eyes. Without another word, he pulled the trigger repeatedly.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!!

Three Silver Needles shot out in succession, moving at incredible speed. Each carried a bone-chilling cold as they flew straight for Yang Xun’s face.

Yang Xun didn’t break his stride. With a slight sway of his body, all three Silver Needles zipped past him, not one of them even grazing him.

The man’s pupils shrank, and his expression changed drastically.

"He’s a trained fighter! Go, go!"

He snatched the pistol back inside and snarled at his companion in the driver’s seat.

The engine roared, and the Mercedes shot forward like a fierce tiger pouncing down a mountain. Its tires left two screeching black marks on the pavement as it sped toward the end of the street in the blink of an eye.

Yang Xun skidded to a halt, his gaze locked on the retreating Mercedes.

With his current strength at the Fourth Layer of the Qi Refining Realm, it wasn’t certain he couldn’t catch them if he gave it his all. But he didn’t give chase.

Yue Feifei was still on the ground behind him. He wasn’t sure if there was something wrong with that Silver Needle, and what if they had accomplices waiting for him to leave...

Yang Xun gritted his teeth, turned, and jogged back to Yue Feifei’s side, dropping to one knee.

"How are you feeling?"

Yue Feifei was sitting on the ground, her face already turning pale, a fine layer of cold sweat beading on her forehead. She tried to push herself up, but her arms gave out, and she slumped back down.

"My head’s a little dizzy, and the wound is kind of itchy."

She frowned, her voice noticeably weaker.

"Don’t worry. I’m here. You’ll be okay."

Yang Xun reached out and took Yue Feifei’s wrist. Placing two fingers on her pulse, he sent a wisp of True Qi into her body to investigate.

The next moment, his expression changed drastically.

Deadly poison!!

The Silver Needle had been coated in a potent toxin. It was already spreading through her meridians at an alarming rate.

If the poison wasn’t forced out soon, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Yang Xun’s gaze fell on the Silver Needle still embedded in Yue Feifei’s chest, his expression becoming incredibly grave.

"This Silver Needle is coated with a deadly and fast-acting poison. It’s already spreading through your body. We need to treat it immediately, or you’re going to die."

Before he even finished speaking, Yang Xun bent down, swept Yue Feifei up into his arms, and strode toward the casino.

"Who... who the hell are you? Let me go! Help!"

Yue Feifei started to struggle violently, pushing against Yang Xun’s chest with all her might. Her almond-shaped eyes were filled with alarm and fear.

’She had no idea who this man was. What if he was with the people who just shot at her? If he took her away, she would truly be done for.’

"Stop shouting! It’s me, Yang Xun! We were high school classmates, don’t you remember?"

Yang Xun didn’t slow down, his pace remaining swift.

"Yang Xun?"

Hearing the name, Yue Feifei froze. Her struggles ceased. She looked up, her gaze fixed on Yang Xun’s face as she studied him carefully.

The shape of his eyes and brows, the line of his jaw, and those eyes... the more she looked, the more familiar he seemed.

The image of a young boy slowly surfaced in her mind, gradually overlapping with the face before her.

It was him!!

That stubborn mule from back then who was dirt poor, who’d rather starve for two days after his living expenses were stolen than ask anyone for help.

"So it is you!"

Yue Feifei’s tense body instantly relaxed. A flash of pleasant surprise crossed her face, and her tone changed. "Yang Xun, I can’t believe I ran into you here! It’s been so many years. Where did you disappear to?"

"Let’s get this poison out of you first. We can catch up later."

Wasting no time on pleasantries, Yang Xun carried Yue Feifei and rushed straight through the casino’s main entrance.

Just as he stepped into the lobby, he ran right into a dejected-looking Qian Peichuan.

The casino manager was still stewing in the humiliation of being slapped by Young Master Zhou. He was walking out with his head down when he looked up and saw Yang Xun bursting in like a whirlwind, carrying a woman.

Qian Peichuan didn’t hesitate, jogging over to meet him. "Mr. Yang, how can I help?"

"Get me a quiet room."

"Right away. Follow me!"

Qian Peichuan led the way, and after a few twists and turns, he quickly brought Yang Xun to a clean break room.

The room wasn’t large, but it was fully furnished with a single bed, a sofa, a coffee table, and soft lighting.

After Yang Xun gently placed Yue Feifei on the bed, Qian Peichuan leaned in and said in a low voice, "I’ll go inform Young Master Zhou right away."

"No need."

Yang Xun shook his head. "It’s a small matter. Don’t bother Young Master Zhou. Just get me some hot water and clean towels."

Qian Peichuan nodded and left.

Only Yang Xun and Yue Feifei remained in the room.

Yang Xun looked down at the Silver Needle in Yue Feifei’s chest, his brow tightly furrowed. The needle was embedded slightly to the left, its end still exposed. The surrounding skin was already showing a faint purplish-blue ring, and the poison was spreading even faster than he’d expected.

He had to remove the needle and detoxify the poison immediately.

Yang Xun pinched the end of the Silver Needle between two fingers, infused his fingertips with True Qi, and gave a gentle tug.

"Hiss..."

Yue Feifei let out a muffled grunt, biting her lip hard.

The Silver Needle was pulled out in one piece. Its tip was coated in a dark brownish liquid that gave off a faint, acrid smell.

Yang Xun set the Silver Needle aside, his gaze returning to the wound.

But the collar of her black business attire was wrapped tightly around the area, completely obscuring the wound. He couldn’t even see the wound clearly, let alone observe the extent of the poison’s spread.

To remove the poison, he had to see the wound and use his True Qi to precisely block the toxin’s path. Administering treatment blindly would not only be far less effective, but it could even backfire.

Yang Xun fell silent for a second. He then looked up, meeting Yue Feifei’s gaze, his expression dead serious.

"Yue Feifei, take off your top."
