Only I am Venerable

Chapter 505 - 501: Annihilated in a Single Move

  • Next Chapter

Qin Yunwen gritted his teeth, wielding a sharp Treasure Saber as he fought with all his might. He wanted Young Master Li to see his effort, to see his struggle. He understood that Young Master Li’s painstaking decision was to give them a chance to temper themselves, and Qin Yunwen and the others actually enjoyed this kind of trial.

He cut down another charging enemy with a single slash. ’In the Qin Family, if you want to get ahead, you have to show you have the skills to back it up,’ Qin Yunwen thought. ’I, Qin Yunwen, will never be content to stay subordinate to others. I have to work hard! I have to get stronger!’

In battle, even a momentary lapse in concentration can have devastating consequences. Two disciples from the Iron-blooded Hall, bathed in blood—one with a severed arm, the other with a sword run through his right chest—stumbled towards Qin Yunwen in the chaos. They both saw the despair in each other’s eyes.

They had never faced such a lopsided battle. Their opponents were too strong! So strong, it drove them to despair. This was a battle with no chance of survival!

’If that’s the case, we might as well take one of them with us!’

With a silent understanding, they charged at Qin Yunwen in unison. The surrounding Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi instantly grew chaotic, and the fluctuations of Primordial Power became incredibly violent!

By the time Qin Yunwen snapped out of it, the two men were less than three steps away!

Even if he could decapitate them both with a single slash, their self-detonation was now all but inevitable! Qin Yunwen froze, his eyes filled with indignation, despair, and a hint of regret. ’In a life-and-death battle, how could I have let my mind wander!’

In that instant, countless fragmented images flashed through his Sea of Consciousness: his parents’ expectations as he grew up, the camaraderie with his clan brothers, his admiration for Young Master Li.

’Young Master Li, I’m sorry. I really... I really wanted to witness the dawn of a new, glorious era with you!’ he thought.

PFFT! PFFT!

With two faint sounds, the bodies of the two Iron-blooded Hall disciples charging at Qin Yunwen went limp, collapsing beside him. The surrounding Spiritual Qi instantly returned to calm.

Qin Yunwen immediately snapped back to reality, cleaving another charging Iron-blooded Hall disciple in two with his saber before looking in a particular direction. He saw Young Master Li offering him a gentle smile as the young master’s voice echoed in his ear.

"You can’t let your mind wander during a fight. Next time something like this happens, there might not be anyone around to save you."

In that instant, Qin Yunwen felt an overwhelming urge to cry. It is said that a warrior will die for one who truly understands him. He, Qin Yunwen, was that warrior, and his confidant was Young Master Li!

Qin Yunwen shook his head hard. His back was completely soaked in a cold sweat, but he barely noticed. He screamed inwardly, ’There will be no next time! Absolutely never again!’

With a furious roar, Qin Yunwen brandished his Treasure Saber and charged back into the enemy ranks.

The Old Ape, Bai Zhongshan, glanced at Qin Li. For a moment there, he had really thought that boy, Qin Yunwen, was about to be killed by the enemy’s self-detonation, and that even those around him would be caught in the blast.

He hadn’t expected Qin Li to intervene at the critical moment. ’So the young master isn’t completely cold-blooded after all,’ he thought.

Qin Li hadn’t expected his actions to actually improve the Old Ape Bai Zhongshan’s opinion of him. ’An unexpected bonus, I suppose.’

The battle was gradually drawing to a close. The thirty elite disciples of the Qin Family were all bathed in blood, but their eyes shone with a newfound brightness. A terrifying killing intent radiated from them, and their gazes were filled with confidence.

This battle forged a single, powerful conviction within the hearts of the thirty elite Qin Family disciples—a conviction that would prove crucial to their future paths of cultivation.

Meanwhile, a steady stream of troops was arriving from the direction of the Dianchi Royal Family’s palace. However, the vast majority of these soldiers were citizens of the Dianchi Kingdom itself, who had been forced to surrender to the Iron-blooded Hall and accept Hai Tiannan’s command.

Now, seeing how powerful these newcomers were—even the National Defense Army, composed of Iron-blooded Hall disciples, was being utterly annihilated—what use would they be? Besides, this group of godslayers was likely here to destroy the Dianchi Royal Family, which would mean avenging them in the process!

Although they had surrendered, most of the soldiers felt a deep sense of humiliation and shame. The main reason they had capitulated was because of their families.

Their wives, children, parents, and siblings were all in this city. If they hadn’t surrendered, Hai Tiannan would have ordered the entire city to be massacred!

Therefore, seeing the situation unfold, the generals of these armies decided to simply surround the battlefield without attacking.

But the Dianchi Kingdom’s National Defense Army, the one comprised of Iron-blooded Hall disciples, had no choice but to fight. The enemy’s power was completely beyond their expectations, so immense that it sent a shiver of dread through their very souls.

Now, many of the Iron-blooded Hall disciples were finally getting a taste of what their own victims in the Dianchi Kingdom had felt.

Fear, regret, anger, and indignation intertwined, devouring their spirits and subjecting them to unbearable torment. This was a battle of utter despair, a near one-sided slaughter.

Each member of this group that had appeared from nowhere was like a Godslayer. What terrified the Iron-blooded Hall disciples even more was the sight of six or seven people standing off to the side, chatting and laughing as if this river of blood was of no concern to them at all.

The Iron-blooded Hall had truly met its match today.

This thought surfaced in the minds of nearly every Iron-blooded Hall disciple. Even if Hai Tiannan could eventually kill these people and avenge them, it was now inevitable that the Iron-blooded Hall’s power would be severely diminished after this battle.

Just then, a large number of High-Level Martial Artists from the imperial palace finally came flying over.

Truth be told, for a small, secular nation like the Dianchi Kingdom, the Iron-blooded Hall would never have stationed a large number of experts here, no matter how important it was. They had been particularly busy lately; for instance, Pang Wen and his group were out searching for Qin Li, and other personnel were assigned to different tasks.

However, it was precisely because of Hai Tiannan’s special status that the Iron-blooded Hall’s Sect Leader, Hai Feng, had dispatched six Shattered Void realm Martial Artists. Including Hai Tiannan himself, that made seven in total. For a secular nation, such a lineup was absurdly powerful.

Who would have thought they would actually be needed today.

When Hai Tiannan first heard the devastating news about his son, he refused to believe it. In his rage, he nearly killed the messenger. But when several more people came bearing the same news, Hai Tiannan had no choice but to accept it as fact. He knew that in this kingdom, no one would dare deceive him.

Snapping back to his senses, Hai Tiannan erupted in a furious rage. He roared, summoned all six Shattered Void realm Martial Artists, and charged toward the battlefield.

When he arrived, he saw a large number of the Dianchi Kingdom’s native soldiers standing guard on the periphery, chatting and laughing with the civilians who had come out to see what was happening. Meanwhile, the battlefield within was a river of blood.

Hai Tiannan was instantly infuriated. ’Excellent,’ he thought. ’You dogs. In the end, you’re all just a pack of wolves that can’t be tamed! Once I’ve avenged my son, I’ll tear every last one of you useless mutts to pieces!’

"My son! Where is my son?" Hai Tiannan screamed in anguish, his heart consumed by regret. ’Why didn’t I make him stay at the Iron-blooded Hall? Why didn’t I just keep him in the palace? At least then he wouldn’t have met such a tragic end.’

"Your Highness, the Young Prince... is over here!" A few Iron-blooded Hall disciples tearfully guarded the Young Prince’s body, which had been sliced in two at the waist.

The moment Hai Tiannan saw his son’s body in two pieces, he nearly fainted. A wave of vertigo washed over him. With a guttural roar, he rushed forward, cradling his son’s lifeless body and bursting into tears.

The six Shattered Void realm Martial Artists behind Hai Tiannan followed close behind, forming a protective perimeter around him, wary of an attack while he was vulnerable.

Each of them had an ashen expression; they couldn’t believe someone had actually dared to provoke the Iron-blooded Hall.

The thirty Qin Family disciples had now returned to their formation. Only a handful of the Iron-blooded Hall disciples were left dead or wounded. The scene was utterly gruesome, a truly horrific sight.

But on the faces of the soldiers and civilians on the periphery, there was a gleam of excitement and vindication. To them, these men had destroyed their homes, killed their brothers, and stolen their sisters, plunging the kingdom into an abyss of suffering. Death was too good for them!

After a long while of weeping, Hai Tiannan slowly rose to his feet. His eyes were bloodshot as he glared in the direction of Qin Li and his people, hissing through clenched teeth, "You... you dared to kill my son. I will make you... pay for this in blood!"

The other six Shattered Void Martial Artists from the Iron-blooded Hall stood by his side, their bodies radiating intense Primordial Power fluctuations. One of them, an old man in gray, stared at Qin Li’s group and demanded, "Who are you people? What feud could you possibly have with the Iron-blooded Hall to warrant such a slaughter?"

Hai Tiannan said, "Don’t waste your breath on them! Kill them... kill them all!"

She She looked at Qin Li with an excited expression. "Young Master, can I make my move now?" she asked.

She She’s attitude further infuriated Hai Tiannan and his men. With a great roar, Hai Tiannan lunged at her. "Demoness!" he bellowed. "I’ll send you to accompany my son!"

She She let out a delicate laugh, her face a mask of contempt. "You mutt. Why don’t you go join your son yourself!"

With that, she flicked her slender hand, and a blinding, deep blue light shot toward Hai Tiannan.

Hai Tiannan immediately felt a terrifying power hurtling toward him. Alarmed, he tried to dodge, but how could he possibly evade an attack from She She at her full power?

BOOM!

With a tremendous roar, the blue light blasted Hai Tiannan’s body to smithereens.
