Chapter 217 -117: A Pure Song Stirs the Nine Heavens, Divine Will Arises, Suppressing the Myriad! Mr. Mei
Until one day, the Demon Fox happened upon a black piece of flesh by a mountain stream.
The pitch-black piece of flesh was larger than a newborn baby and pulsed on a rock as if it were alive.
Without a second thought, the fox swallowed it whole, and its world changed. Its body began to grow uncontrollably, ballooning from the size of a large dog to its current tiger-like frame.
Power surged through its body, wisdom blossomed in its mind, and a spirit awakened in its soul. Everything about it was improving at a frantic pace.
It was no longer that simple-minded fox. The first time it descended the mountain, it set its sights on the eldest son of the town’s head.
The man was plump, with a large head and big ears. He looked delicious. More delicious than a wild rabbit, more delicious than a pheasant, a thousand times more delicious than any deer.
Human flesh and blood truly was the most delicious food in the world.
It was just about to leave and find its next target.
Just then, a dark figure suddenly appeared in the corner of the room.
The figure materialized out of thin air. It had no physical form, only a pitch-black silhouette.
It had no facial features, and ribbons of black water constantly coiled around it.
The black water seemed alive, like countless black snakes slithering through the empty air.
The Demon Fox froze solid the moment a pair of eyes lit up within the darkness.
‘What the fuck? People say a sudden fright can kill a man… bah, no, that’s not it. It should be a ghost scaring a demon can kill it!’
Instinctual fear made the Demon Fox bare its fangs. “What… what the hell are you?!”
But her human expression didn’t look like one of anger. It was more like a pout.
The dark figure looked at her and spoke slowly, “A fine vessel. I will take it.”
As soon as it finished speaking, it floated over.
Though it seemed to move slowly, the Demon Fox trembled with every inch it drew nearer.
It was a fear unlike any she had ever known, the kind of despair one feels when facing a natural predator.
The woman shrieked, her delicate hands instantly clenching into claws. Wisps of white vapor streamed from her fingertips, shooting toward the dark figure!
This power was similar to that of a human Grandmaster of Divine Intent. The white vapor could create illusory worlds wherever it went.
“Heh, is that supposed to be like the True Qi of Divine Intent? It’s a far cry from what those humans can do.”
“Still, it’s better than nothing. The wills of those damned humans are far too strong. You demon beasts are the easiest to possess.”
The words had barely faded when the black water coiling around the figure surged forward!
The black water moved like an overwhelming tidal wave, instantly engulfing the streams of white vapor.
The white vapor was instantly routed and dispersed, unable to offer even the slightest resistance.
In the next second, the black water, its momentum undiminished, touched the Demon Fox’s body.
A large patch of her delicate skin instantly rotted away, exposing the gleaming white bone beneath.
As searing pain wracked her, that same monstrous torrent of black water flooded the depths of the Demon Fox’s consciousness.
The boundless black water submerged everything. The giant White Fox that had just seemed capable of devouring heaven and earth was helpless before it.
The Demon Fox’s eyes slowly closed as she collapsed to the ground. The dark figure floated down, gazed at the body, and then melted into it.
A moment later, a finger on the woman’s body twitched, and then her eyes snapped open.
“Heh, this vessel is not bad at all.”
Having perfectly adapted to the Demon Fox’s body, the Outer Celestial Demon nodded in satisfaction.
Just then, it whipped its head around to stare at the empty doorway, a look of absolute horror instantly filling the woman’s eyes.
“What? Fucking hell, how could a human Grandmaster of Divine Intent possibly be here?”
The doorway was empty, but its senses could not be mistaken. It was a Grandmaster of Divine Intent—one of those damned human Martial Arts Powerhouses!
‘Run!’
It instantly reverted to the form of a tiger-sized fox, then burst through the wall behind it with a powerful thrust of its limbs!
Amid flying bricks and billowing dust, the golden figure sprinted into the distance without a backward glance!
“A single clear song to shake the Nine Heavens, as Divine Intent arises to master the thousands.”
A clear, resonant voice descended from the sky. Each word was perfectly enunciated with a lingering charm, like lines recited on an opera stage.
As the voice faded, a figure descended from the sky. It was a man dressed in the costume of a female opera lead.
He was in full costume, his head adorned with jeweled ornaments, a decorative cloud collar on his shoulders, and long sleeves fluttering in the air. His face was strikingly handsome and his eyes were serene, with the faintest hint of a smile playing on his lips.
Most astonishingly, visible streams of red energy coiled around the man’s body.
The Demon Fox was fleeing frantically, but a stream of red energy shot from the man’s body like a mystical serpent.
It was fast—so fast its trajectory was invisible! The red energy struck the Demon Fox’s massive body with pinpoint accuracy!
The Demon Fox’s body seized up as an image instantly flooded its mind.
A righteous figure of world-shaking power stood between heaven and earth. The figure blazed with a brilliant light, its electric gaze locked firmly upon the fox.
The Demon Fox didn’t stop. Enduring the intense pain, it opened its cavernous maw and spewed a torrent of black water that shot toward the man!
The man in the opera costume remained serene, his expression unchanged. He simply raised his hand slowly, turning his wrist and giving a gentle flick of his slightly curled fingers.
The movement was as fluid as a theatrical pose—elegant, unhurried, and without a trace of worldly effort.
In the next instant, a visible torrent of red energy erupted from his palm!
The red energy formed a wall before him, and the black water was instantly dispersed upon impact!
The black water splattered onto the ground, the walls, and the trees. A fist-sized hole instantly corroded whatever surface a single drop touched!
He glanced at the smoking holes, his brow knitting slightly.
‘Black water? To think it’s one of those damn Outer Celestial Demons…’
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps came from outside the courtyard gate.
A crowd of people came rushing in, led by a plump man with a large head and big ears, dressed in a silk robe.
As soon as he entered, he saw the still-smoking craters in the ground and the costumed man standing in the doorway.
“Mr. Mei! What happened? Why did you run off in the middle of your performance?”
Mr. Mei did not answer him, merely gazing in the direction the Demon Fox had fled.
‘That direction… is Yun Port City.’
As it happened, that was exactly where he was headed next!
