Chapter 190: Chapter 105: Impervious to Water and Fire, Slaying Water Monkeys in the River

’This human is dead meat!’

The Water Monkey opened its mouth, revealing a set of menacing fangs, and was about to lunge toward Lu Yun in the distance.

But it suddenly froze mid-motion, instinctively sensing that something was wrong.

Lu Yun swam through the water. Having reached the major completion of the 3rd Floor of his Hard Qigong, he was now impervious to both water and fire.

This description was no empty boast. The current Lu Yun could face open flames for half an hour and remain completely unharmed.

He had been burned by the flames from Count Thorne’s bomb previously because he hadn’t yet achieved the major completion of the 3rd Floor.

If it were to happen now, those flames couldn’t harm him in the slightest.

Likewise, in the water, Lu Yun could control his pores at will, completely eliminating the need to breathe through his mouth or nose.

He could stay underwater for hours with no more difficulty than if he were on dry land.

’The Water Monkey? King of the water? We’ll see who the real king is.’

Lu Yun picked up speed, swimming toward the enormous figure, his eyes glinting with a hunter’s excitement.

When he was still fifty meters away, the Water Monkey finally reacted.

’Something’s wrong with this human!’

As Lu Yun shot toward the Water Monkey, an earthen-yellow Divine Will True Qi swirled furiously around his right fist.

Ten Thousand Valleys Struggle Fist—Second Fist! With a single punch, he sent a yellow phantom fist cutting through the river, shooting straight for the Water Monkey!

This time, the Water Monkey was utterly terrified, for it sensed that the attack carried the one aura it feared most.

It was an incomparable, searing heat—the kind of scorching power that could incinerate all creation!

Evil spirits were creatures of yin, and what they feared most was pure, unyielding yang power. And as it happened, the Divine Will True Qi was saturated with just such searing heat.

The Water Monkey went berserk. It thrashed its massive body in a desperate, final struggle, frantically manipulating the surrounding currents to surge toward the phantom fist!

The river water churned as walls of water materialized in front of the Water Monkey, then smashed into the earthen-yellow phantom fist at incredible speed!

BOOM!

As the phantom fist collided with the river currents, a tremendous, muffled explosion erupted underwater!

The currents scattered chaotically and undercurrents surged. Ultimately, the phantom fist was weakened.

Underwater, the force of anyone’s strikes was naturally diminished.

Coupled with the Water Monkey’s desperate use of the currents to block it, the phantom fist couldn’t exert even one percent of its true power.

Lu Yun was unconcerned. He had never expected that punch to actually injure the behemoth.

His goal had always been singular: to buy time.

Otherwise, if the Water Monkey was determined to flee, not even a speedboat could catch it underwater.

Although Lu Yun could breathe underwater, his speed was no match for a creature born of the water. Stalling it was enough.

Lu Yun surged forward the final meter, finally reaching the Water Monkey!

Now, he could finally get a good look at the creature with his own eyes.

Before, he had only used his Divine Sense to lock onto it, getting just a vague sense of approaching danger.

Now, up close and personal, by the faint sliver of moonlight filtering through the water, he could finally see it clearly. It was as large as an elephant.

Its massive body was a full four to five meters long, with rough, gray-green skin like sandpaper, riddled with countless bullet holes.

Seeing Lu Yun right in its face, the Water Monkey became completely enraged. It abruptly swung a long, sharp claw, swiping viciously at him!

Its four claws, sharp as hooks, carried enough force to shred steel!

It was difficult for Lu Yun to dodge underwater, but he had no intention of doing so anyway.

The claws slashed across Lu Yun’s chest! His black tunic suit tore instantly, revealing the powerful muscles beneath!

Three white marks appeared on his chest, but that was the extent of the damage. Lu Yun didn’t even knit his brow.

He seized the opportunity, shooting his hands out and grabbing both of the Water Monkey’s front claws!

The Water Monkey froze. Before it could react, the earthen-yellow Divine Will True Qi erupted from Lu Yun’s hands!

The Water Monkey’s body went rigid. The savagery in its pitch-black eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a dull, vacant stare.

Deep within its consciousness, a scene had suddenly descended: mountains, endless mountain peaks.

The peaks pressed in from all directions, and the Water Monkey could only watch helplessly as they grew closer and heavier, until they finally crushed and engulfed it.

Seizing the moment, Lu Yun put all his strength into his arms and actually managed to heave the massive Water Monkey into the air!

The enormous creature broke the surface of the water and went flying toward the dock!

The Water Monkey crashed heavily onto the bluestone pavement of the dock, the impact cracking the ground!

It lay there, convulsing, a faint hiss escaping its mouth. It wasn’t dead, but it was close.

The next moment, the water’s surface broke again as Lu Yun leaped out, landing steadily on the dock.

He then clenched his right fist, which once again became wreathed in the earthen-yellow Divine Will True Qi.

A massive, earthen-yellow phantom fist exploded from his knuckles and shot toward the Water Monkey on the ground!

The phantom fist slammed solidly into the massive body. The Water Monkey’s mouth flew open, and it let out a bloodcurdling shriek!

Then, thick white smoke began to pour from its entire body—billowing from within, from its wounds, from every inch of its skin!

Under the corrosive power of the earthen-yellow Divine Will True Qi, its massive body began to disintegrate at a speed visible to the naked eye!

A few breaths later, all that remained on the ground was a pool of pitch-black liquid and the Wisteria Spirit Staff.

Lu Yun walked forward and drew the staff into his hand. After sensing no other strange auras in the vicinity, he retracted his gaze and turned his focus inward, delving deep into his consciousness.
