Chapter 247: 247: Get Some Rest.

Nyx stared at Ayra worriedly as she stood firm, smiling at the scene ahead.

"That’s good then..." Ayra said. "It’s good that it worked."

Ally stood beside her, gently pulling at her leg as she asked, "Mama, are you okay?"

Ayra smiled back at her. "I’m fine... And you?" She ran her hand through her hair. "Feeling down?"

Ally shook her head. "No, I’m feeling fine..."

Ayra smiled. "That’s good then."

They could tell that Ayra was feeling weak even though she insisted that she was fine.

Lord Vale approached her and ran his hand across her forehead, observing her closely. "You should get some rest... You don’t look too well."

The Snake Queen nodded. "That’s true. Instead of heading back now, why doesn’t she stay here and get some rest?"

She added, "We have a place where she can stay and regain some strength before leaving."

They were skeptical about staying behind. Lord Zark figured they could simply head back immediately while carrying Ayra if necessary.

But Lord Vale nodded in agreement with the Snake Queen’s request. "Thanks, that will do. She’s too tired to be carried around right now..."

"We’ll have to bother you for a place to stay today, then," Lord Ash requested.

"Don’t mention it at all. I’m more than happy to be of help." The Snake Queen smiled and shook her head. "She saved us all. It’s the least we can do."

She turned around and instructed the other snakes to prepare the room where Ayra and the rest would stay. Without hesitation, they all set off to get it ready.

The room, situated inside a tree, was soon prepared, and Nyx carried Ayra inside.

Ayra had fallen unconscious almost immediately. She didn’t know what happened next, other than being taken into the room to get some rest.

While she slept, Nyx and her mates sat around to keep an eye on her.

They sat down with Ally, all staring at Ayra as she slept peacefully on the leafy bed.

Lord Zark stood beside Commander Lynn and Nyx, his arms folded as they watched her sleep. Lord Ash and Lord Vale knelt close by, keeping an eye on her, while Lord Vale occasionally ran his hand through her hair to check on her.

Ally also sat close to her as she asked, "Will Mama be okay?"

Lord Ash consistently reassured her with a smile. "She sure will."

The Snake Queen’s little one had been taken to its room for some rest and care, while the Queen remained there with them, watching Ayra sleep.

She smiled warmly at the sight of Ayra’s mates keeping such a close eye on her.

"She’s indeed lucky to have such caring mates like you..." the Queen said with a smile as she stared at them.

"We’re lucky to have her..." Lord Zark replied, his arms still folded as he stared at Ayra. "She has done a lot for us... We can’t do that much in return..."

Slowly, Lord Ash and Lord Vale nodded in agreement with his words.

The Snake Queen nodded with a smile. "I guess the words of the people were false. She really isn’t the malicious one they make her out to be... She’s a sweet, lovely female."

At this, Nyx slowly nodded in agreement. "It seems we all had it wrong... or so."

Lord Vale got up and turned to the Snake Queen. "I want to make some soup... Can I have access to your herbal leaves?" he requested.

The Snake Queen nodded without hesitation. "Of course. Feel free to."

While the rest remained close to Ayra, keeping watch over her, Lord Vale and some of the snakes stepped out to gather some herbs.

With the herbs Vale managed to get, he proceeded to make use of what he could to prepare a herbal soup suitable for Ayra.

He had learned some tricks from Ayra while watching her make herbal soup before, so it helped him improve his own methods.

He put the herbs into a bowl, mixed them with liquid, and made a fire. He then blended them well enough while they cooked.

He did all of this while the snakes watched, impressed by his efforts.

When he was done, Lord Vale kept the soup ready for Ayra, who would probably wake up soon enough.

Ayra woke up the next morning.

As she slowly opened her eyes, she felt someone lying close to her. When she turned, she was surprised by the sight around her.

Ally was lying close to her, holding her firmly while she slept. Lord Ash and Commander Lynn were leaning their heads against her as they slept.

Lord Vale was sitting in a corner, fast asleep, while Nyx and Lord Zark stood close to the door, staring down at her.

"You’re finally awake." Nyx was the first to notice her and immediately commented. ℴ

Lord Zark stared at her before slowly making his way closer. "How are you feeling?" he asked, his hand moving to her forehead to check her temperature.

Ayra shook her head. "I’m fine..."

She was fine. At least, better than before.

But she was still weak. She hadn’t recovered the energy she had used up.

Lord Vale slowly woke up and stared at Ayra before getting to his feet. "How did I sleep off...?" he muttered as he looked around.

Then he noticed that she was awake.

"You’re awake... I’ll go get you something to eat."

He turned and walked out of the room to get something to eat while the others began waking up and surrounding Ayra.

"How are you feeling now?" Commander Lynn asked as soon as he opened his eyes. He leaned closer, placing a hand over her forehead before moving it down to her stomach.

He checked the little one inside Ayra’s stomach and slowly nodded with relief when he felt the active energy still moving within her.

Ally also ran her hand over Ayra’s face. "Mama, are you feeling any better?"

Ayra smiled back at the little one and nodded. "Mmm, I’m fine," she assured her.

And while they were at it, Lord Vale soon returned to the room in the company of the Green Snakes.
