One Night Mistake… Now I Carry the Mafia Heir
Chapter 218/Triumphant Defiance
Chapter 218: 218/Triumphant Defiance
Chapter 218
Stephanie’s POV
The two brothers exchanged a long, meaningful look, a heavy silence settling between them as all old rivalries and lingering conflicts melted away. Words were completely unnecessary; surrendering to this moment was the only path forward.
Cedric smiled with quiet warmth, running his hand over my damp hair, whispering softly:
"Come here..."
Alexander gave a firm nod filled with pride and quiet satisfaction, drawing back the heavy covers as he rasped out in a low baritone:
"The bed is big enough for all of us tonight."
We all moved together onto the spacious mattress. Alexander stretched out on the right side, Cedric laid on the left, and I settled right between them in the exact center. Alexander’s strong arm pulled me firmly against his hot chest, while Cedric wrapped his arm around my waist from the other side, interlacing his fingers with mine to draw me close to his frame.
Cedric murmured, pressing a gentle kiss against my bare shoulder:
"Goodnight, Stephanie..."
Alexander added with quiet, possessive authority:
"Close your eyes now."
Enfolded in the deep warmth and protection of their arms, I let out a long, shuddering sigh and closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep to the steady, synchronized beat of their hearts marking the start of a brand new Chapter with no boundaries to keep us apart.
I opened my eyes slowly as golden streaks of sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains of the suite, greeted by an intense warmth enveloping my body from both sides. I lifted my head with heavy, sleepy reluctance, finding myself still anchored right in the middle: Cedric’s face relaxed and resting near my neck, and Alexander’s massive arm locked around my waist with decisive ownership, even in his sleep.
I closed my eyes for a brief second, taking a deep breath and wondering if everything that had happened yesterday was merely an illusion or a wild dream my mind had conjured up. But the heat of their breath fanning against my skin, the lingering traces of their release, and the sweet ache deep in my core confirmed with absolute certainty that I wasn’t dreaming at all.
I smiled warmly and leaned over quietly to press a soft kiss against Cedric’s warm lips. He let out a low sigh without opening his eyes, grumbling in a lazy, raspy morning tone:
"Good morning, my little one..."
I turned toward Alexander, lifting my face to kiss his cheek and lips for a few lingering seconds. His fingers trailed over my back with quiet affection as he slowly blinked his eyes open, murmuring:
"Still energetic early in the morning?"
I whispered with a light laugh:
"Just making sure I’m not dreaming..."
Cedric moved first with heavy breaths, sitting up on the edge of the mattress. He turned to look down at me with calm, satisfied grey eyes, running his palm over my cheek before standing up to pull on his trousers and shirt with deliberate movements.
Cedric rasped out as he headed toward the door:
"I’m going to my room to take a shower... I’ll see you shortly, Stephanie."
I nodded with a warm smile:
"Don’t be long."
He stepped out, letting the door click quietly behind him. Meanwhile, Alexander rose to his full height, running a hand through his dark hair as he looked down at me for a moment:
"I’ll take a shower first, sweetheart."
He walked straight into the suite’s bathroom to wash up.
After a few minutes, the sound of running water stopped, and Alexander stepped out wearing his robe. I climbed off the rumpled bed, wrapping a light sheet tightly around my body as I headed into the bathroom. I let the warm water cascade down my skin, washing away the physical traces of that fiery night while reliving every single detail that had transpired between us with overwhelming emotion.
I took my first steps out of the bathroom, warm steam still swirling behind me, but the absolute quiet of the suite indicated Alexander had already stepped out. The room was empty.
At that exact second, the quiet was shattered by the sharp ringing of my phone sitting on the nightstand beside the bed. I walked over with heavy steps, but the moment the screen lit up, my chest tightened at the sight of that bastard’s name: *Vincetti*.
My fingers moved with decisive speed, slamming the decline button. I tossed the phone aside and threw my full weight onto the messy sheets, closing my eyes and breathing in the scent of the pillows. A wave of profound relief washed over me, sweeping away every trace of fear that had plagued me for months... His nightmare was finally over.
Only a few seconds passed before the ringing cut through my moment of peace with persistent aggression. I snatched the phone, swiping the screen with anger to answer and throwing out my words before giving him a chance to speak:
"What do you want, you bastard?"
His voice came through the speaker, unexpected in its calm, incredulous tone:
"What did you just say?"
My voice spiked, releasing months of suppressed rage and resentment stored in my chest:
"You vile, pathetic scoundrel! I hate you... I despise you with every fiber of my being!"
A short silence hung on the other end before he spoke in a cold, formal tone that barely concealed his obvious confusion:
"Miss Miller... I believe you have the wrong person."
I gripped the phone tightly in my fist, spitting out sharp irony and a bold defiance I had never felt before:
"I didn’t make a mistake, you bastard Dominic... You predator! You degenerate!"
His tone shifted instantly, growing harsh and threatening:
"Are you looking to kill yourself?"
I let out a light laugh filled with pure relief and defiance, lying back to stare at the ceiling with complete indifference:
"Go ahead and tell Alexander everything... I don’t care about a single thing anymore, because Alexander knows every single detail now!"
His breath hitched for a moment. This time, his shocked voice came through completely stripped of pretense:
"What are you saying?!"
I smiled triumphantly, delivering the final, decisive blow that severed every chain of fear he had used to bind me:
"You have absolutely nothing left to threaten me with... Nothing at all!"
