One Night Mistake… Now I Carry the Mafia Heir
Chapter 175/No Days Off for Slaves
Chapter 175: 175/No Days Off for Slaves
Chapter 175
Stephanie’s point of view
Her eyes narrowed in sheer doubt. "Where the hell are you going to run, Steph? How do you plan to escape the reach and infinite resources of the mafia? Have you completely forgotten that your body is about to get heavy as hell very soon because of the twins?"
I snapped my purse open, gesturing frantically inside. "I have a mountain of expensive jewelry, diamonds, and rare pieces that Grandpa Victor and Alexander bought me. I can sell them off on the black market quickly through brokers, take the cash, and get the hell out of this country entirely."
Kira stared at me, her mind clearly working through the logistics before she spoke quietly. "Why don’t you take the safest, easiest route? Stay publicly married to Alexander, and try to completely erase Cedric from your mind and your bed."
A harsh, bitter laugh cut through my lips. "I can’t do that, Kira. It’s completely impossible to live between those two tyrants. If I use my brain and choose one, the other will never leave me alone. He will burn the entire mafia and this family to the goddamn ground out of pure jealousy and hatred."
Kira let out a defeated, exhausted sigh. "Fine... if you’re completely dead-set on running, we have to map out a foolproof plan to avoid any mistakes."
I nodded my head frantically, hanging on her every word. "Yes... tell me what to do. I’ll do whatever it takes to survive."
"First thing’s first," she said, her eyes shifting as she calculated our options. "We need to secure a safe house somewhere completely hidden and off the grid where you can vanish without anyone noticing your absence or tracking your location."
"Anywhere in this massive world," I replied, my mind completely frazzled. "I don’t give a shit where it is. I’ll fly to a different continent and start completely over by myself."
She patted my knee reassuringly. "Alright. For now, you need to drive back to the palace immediately so your absence doesn’t spark any suspicion. Act like absolutely nothing happened out there. And whatever you do, Stephanie do not go anywhere near Cedric’s room or cross his threshold again for any reason. That shit is officially over."
"I won’t," I promised, pushing myself up onto my heavy, exhausted legs. "I swear I won’t."
She walked me toward the front door. "Good. I’ll start reaching out to some trusted contacts outside the city to see what lines we can pull."
"Thank you, Kira..." I whispered, a wave of genuine gratitude washing over my battered heart. "Thank you for being the only person standing by me in this disgusting swamp."
I turned to hurry out, but her hand snapped around my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. "Where the hell are you going in such a panicked rush? Sit with me for a bit until your nerves settle down so you can actually drive safely."
"I have to go right now, Kira," I replied, nervously twisting the doorknob. "I can’t stay out any longer, or Alexander is going to notice."
"Fine," she said, worry bleeding into her eyes. "Be safe, and call me the second you can."
I hurried out, throwing myself into my luxury car. But before I could even shove the metal key into the ignition to crank the engine, my phone violently erupted into a loud, vibrating ring that sent a spike of adrenaline through my chest. I snatched it up with trembling fingers, pressing the button with sheer dread. "Hello... who is this?"
"Miss Miller..." His mocking, freezing voice glided through the receiver, dripping with absolute dominance and power. "I find it hard to believe that after all this time, you still haven’t saved my direct, private number in your phone’s memory. Is this intentional negligence?"
My stomach did a violent flip, terror seizing my throat. It was that sadistic bastard, Vincente. I swallowed down the massive lump of fear, forcing a rigid, artificial professionalism into my voice. "I’m incredibly sorry, Mr. Vincente... I’ll save it right now without delay."
"Get your ass over to my house immediately," he commanded, his voice sharp and absolute, completely disregarding my pathetic apology. "I have some important work waiting for you."
I glanced at the clock on the dashboard, a wave of bitter protest rising in my chest. "But Mr. Vincente... today is Sunday. It’s literally my day off."
"I don’t give a shit about your days off!" he roared, his thunderous tone blasting through the speaker so loudly I violently flinched in my seat. "I said get over here right now. No arguments, no extra chatter!"
Before I could even open my mouth to object or explain how exhausted I was, the line went completely dead. He had hung up on me with his signature, ruthless finality. I threw the phone onto the leather passenger seat in pure frustration, slamming my fist against the steering wheel as hot tears of rage spilled over.
"Oh my God..." I whispered in complete despair. "I am completely caught in this psycho’s trap now... God, please help me. Get me away from this monster."
I fired up the engine and forced myself to drive straight toward his address. When I finally arrived, my limbs were shaking with fear over whatever twisted intentions he had in store. I walked up to the grand front door with hesitant steps and knocked. The maid opened it, her expression warm and smiling as she greeted me politely. "Welcome back, Miss Miller. Please, come inside."
I stepped into the opulent foyer, which was filled to the brim with priceless antiques. "Where exactly is Mr. Vincente?" I asked, wanting to get this nightmare over with.
"He’s upstairs showering in his private suite right now," she answered casually, gesturing toward the grand staircase.
My eyes went wide, my face flushing in pure confusion and sheer panic. "What?!" *Does this sick bastard think I’m some low-life maid he can summon on my only day off to wash his goddamn body?! What the hell is going on in his twisted, perverted mind?*
Seeing my visible agitation, the maid quickly added, "He’ll be down as soon as he’s finished."
I let out a shaky breath, my suspicion still on high alert. "Fine... I’ll wait for him down here in the reception lounge."
I took a few steps toward the plush sofas to sit down, but the maid suddenly cut across my path with a rigid, polite authority. Her next words completely shattered my composure. "Miss Miller... excuse me, but I need to show you where the kitchen is located first so you can head in."
I froze dead in my tracks, my brows knitting together in utter shock and anger. "The kitchen?! Why the hell are you telling me to go to the kitchen?"
She offered a cold, entirely humorless smile. "The master ordered us not to touch a single utensil or ingredient in there today. He explicitly stated that you and only you will be preparing and cooking his breakfast with your own two hands."
My mouth fell open in absolute disbelief, a massive wave of shock taking over my frame. "What?! Me?! Cook for him myself like some fucking...?! Has he completely lost his goddamn mind?!"
The maid gave a firm, unyielding nod that made it clear there was no room for negotiation. "Yes... you specifically, by his direct orders, Miss. Please follow me to the kitchen without any further delay."
