One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1388 - 1385: Hatred
Kuyi Tulan and the Shadow Ghost have fully merged into one, and they now exist in a single state.
This state is not unfamiliar to Kuyi Tulan; he used to suppress these emotions of his, but now he is eager to vent them out.
Anger, endless anger.
This anger is like a tumultuous flood, constantly surging from behind him, making it impossible for him to escape.
He feels like an innocent life before a flood, suddenly obliterated by the rushing waters.
He didn't even have the chance to clearly see the form of the flood before completely disappearing in front of it. This scene made him feel uncomfortable, but that's how anger is; it comes swiftly, crushing you, leaving you breathless.
A smile previously hanging at the corner of his mouth has now turned into gritted teeth, and he has squeezed a crack into the armrest on the throne, which symbolizes his anger.
The throne is made of stone, and squeezing a crack into stone shows the extent of his anger.
But distant water can't quench present thirst; Kuyi Tulan's hatred has entwined with the Shadow Ghost's vengeance. Things that wouldn't have angered him before are now burning in the flames of fury.
And that flame only grows stronger!
Initially, Kuyi Tulan thought that the integration would naturally discard the bad and retain the good, like Adventurers with Class advancing towards betterment, never looking toward what isn't ideal, just like climbing a mountain, only going upwards, not downwards.
However, Kuyi Tulan feels that his integration with the Shadow Ghost isn't exactly like that.
Emotionally, the Shadow Ghost is indeed a novice, but he should be someone who can control his emotions well. So how did things turn out this way?
Why has he suddenly been dominated by this anger? This is an abnormal phenomenon.
Apart from not having initiative regarding these emotions, Kuyi Tulan can still make decisions in every other aspect; even when it comes to acting upon these emotions, he has the power to decide…
But he just cannot control the manifestation of his emotions.
That is to say, Kuyi Tulan can manipulate the heavens and the earth, command the winds and rains, but he cannot manage his facial expressions' emotions. He can resist being swayed by these emotions, yet he cannot control their expression.
He cannot suppress the anger from showing, nor can he restrain his solitude, happiness, anger, sorrow, and joy; he has no control, leaving these emotions to freely manifest on his face.
Anger constantly flows through him, yet Kuyi Tulan knows there's nothing he can do, as he retreated to the Wensi Empire to accumulate his own power.
Indeed, his power has grown very strong. But two fists cannot fend off four hands, and though the ragtag group of the Kayne Empire doesn't compare to him individually, their sheer numbers continually cause him significant trouble.
Therefore, he has come here to accumulate his strength.
This was part of his plans, yet the emotion of anger keeps surging out like a torrential flood…
Snap—
The armrest of the throne finally crumbled under his grip, the stone reduced to powder.
The once majestic throne of Queen Wensi now bears a blemish, instantly altering its flavor in an indescribable way.
Kuyi Tulan discarded the stone powder in his hand, not expecting he could so easily crush an armrest of the throne… Now, looking at it, the throne seems a bit pitiable.
Still, imperfection can also be a form of beauty!
Fortunately, at this moment, he is alone in the Wensi palace; if someone else were present, they'd surely have read too much into the situation…
He has no choice; his emotions are always at the surface, revealing even if his heart doesn't decide so.
If his subordinates saw this scene, they would have surely overthought again. A subordinate can't help but overthink; it's their duty.
Kuyi Tulan shakes his head, having locked himself here for days to contemplate this matter, pondering how to break through this barrier.
After all, controlling one's emotions is crucial, and he doesn't wish to remain inconsistent inside and out.
But after so much contemplation, he still hasn't discovered the mystery within; he continuously explores but fails to modify this situation.
This issue, in itself, is difficult to unravel, and it perplexes him.
The whole process is a disordered mess; it's already delayed him for one or two days.
Though he lacks nothing but time, dragging on like this is truly uncomfortable because he cannot control the renewed display of his emotions.
This phenomenon began when he started using the Devouring Power.
He doesn't know why after absorbing power from that blue creature, he became incapable of controlling these emotions, nor why this is happening is something he really can't figure out.
Could it be that this is a unique trait of that creature called Kadi?
To figure this out, he's tasked his subordinates to research it.
His most trusted person is naturally Milo, his senior fellow apprentice, who trusts him deeply, leaving this matter to Milo most reassuringly.
Other people, even the immensely powerful Gaoju Family, are just tools in his eyes, emotionless tools.
He looks down upon such people who forsake themselves for their goals, selling everything they could just to gain power; it's utterly unreasonable.
Thinking about this makes him angry again…
Uncontrollable emotions keep pouring out, making him feel utterly bewildered; he must find out the cause.
He doesn't wish to remain in the dark because he always wants to control everything, even the simplest emotions fully!
"It's time to see that youth!" Kuyi Tulan claps his hands, descending from the throne with a light step, leaving no trace.
In this manner, he's no different from a Shadow Ghost, quite fascinated by this levitation technique, always trying it involuntarily.
He's been in the Wensi Empire for some time now.
Although he hasn't had much interaction with Kadi, he has managed to extract some power from Kadi, power that the Shadow Ghost craves, yet for some unknown reason, these powers never reach the anticipated state…
