One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 1358 - 1355: The Sealed Place (Part 2)
Igor and Kadi are both very cautious now, feeling that they're getting closer but unable to sense Xiso's familiar spiritual energy.
This makes them hesitant to advance recklessly.
Because they have no idea what exactly the experiment field of this Alchemy Workshop is for, nor where exactly Xiso is being detained inside.
They can only guess, and keep exploring.
Moreover, they must do it quietly. Although the main forces of the Alchemy Workshop are entangled with the Kangen family, there's no assurance that a couple of aces aren't waiting here for them.
So being careful is a must!
"What do you think this feeling actually means!" Kadi asked Igor again.
Igor scratched his head; he really doesn't know the situation. But he feels a bit familiar with this sensation, as if it has been lingering around him for a long time.
Could it be spirit power?
Impossible, Igor immediately dismissed the thought, thinking it's better not to speculate randomly. This place is so strange, it could well be traps set by the enemy.
Igor looked at Kadi; before, he felt the devouring power within Kadi was restless, yet the flame would only peek out and shrink back, seeming very fearful of whatever was in this place.
Something that could instill fear in devouring power really deserves thorough study.
Igor briefly explained this situation to Kadi, thinking they should utilize this aspect to find out what's holding Xiso!
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Kadi lowered his voice, feeling that doing as Igor suggested might be a bit risky.
"I'm sure, since we've already come this far; failing to find where Xiso is detained would be a real failure." Igor spoke without whispering further.
"Uh…" Kadi was a bit caught off guard by Igor's response.
"What's wrong?" Igor asked, curious about Kadi's hesitation.
"Didn't Princess Juliette tell us to be stealthy, isn't what we're doing a bit too casual?" Kadi cautiously inquired, clearly mindful of the princess's instructions.
"Uh, Her Highness told us to come in silently, but not necessarily leave silently. I think since we're in, we should get the job done thoroughly..."
"Alright, now I understand!" Kadi jumped up, drawing out his Butterfly Blades and swiftly tossing them!
"This…" Igor hadn't even reacted before Kadi acted, his speed was shocking.
The Butterfly Blades flew towards the source of the unusual spirit energy fluctuations. The flames on the blades flickered, moving along with the swiftly traveling blades, making a hissing sound.
With the blade's penetration, the blue flame suddenly vanished, leaving no trace.
The Butterfly Blades then wobbled back to Kadi's hand.
"Wow, the flames actually went out, I've never seen this before." Kadi couldn't believe what just happened.
"It seems whatever's ahead really frightens even devouring power!" Igor frowned, clearly suspecting this.
But what exactly lies ahead, they have no way of knowing.
No matter what it is, it's remarkable that the thing hasn't attacked them yet.
Igor originally thought Kadi's moves might provoke the strange thing ahead, but unfortunately, they seemingly lack the power to catch its attention.
"Let's get closer to take a look!" Igor took steps forward, as their night vision isn't extensive enough to see all details in this dark experiment field.
Kadi followed Igor, as they walked, the flames on Kadi danced, tempted by whatever was ahead, yet the devouring power refused to emerge, seeming afraid of what was there.
"Really strange, I never felt like this before." Kadi said.
"I see, the flames seem abnormal." Igor replied, which was why he had Kadi use the flames to probe.
But the probing revealed nothing, a complete blank, as though faced with an unknown.
"The flames may feel quite conflicted now, wanting to get closer yet fearful, struggling internally." Igor's analysis made Kadi nod, as he too felt the flames' hesitation.
"Shall we give them a push?" Igor suggested, thinking it's a very good and meaningful proposal.
"You mean push them in front of that power?"
"Yes, maybe then we'll see what's so mysterious." Igor smiled.
Kadi hesitated a bit, then suddenly released the flames on himself.
With a boom, the flames rose vigorously.
Squeak—
Suddenly, the flames, as if encountering their nemesis, shrank abruptly, hiding behind Kadi.
"It's gotten shy now…" Igor glanced at the flames, then forward, seeing fragments ahead, unable to discern what they were even with night vision.
"Let's get closer to see..." Kadi suggested, as he had already tucked away his flames, clearly drawn to the mysterious fragments.
So Kadi and Igor moved cautiously closer.
But it was too dark, still unclear.
"Summon the flames back, perhaps we can see better." Igor told Kadi.
"They won't come out; I tried, truly puzzling." Kadi spread his hands, eager to make out what these fragments were.
"Uh, what now?" Igor scratched his head, until they understood the fragments and the power here, they couldn't quickly utilize it to rescue Xiso, though they still didn't know Xiso's exact location.
The only certainty now is that this is a place of detention.
"You can also summon flames." Kadi remembered, since Igor once played with fire for quite a while.
"Right!" Igor slapped his thigh, having forgotten.
Igor gathered energy without delay, then collided it!
Whoosh, flames burst forth, tearing through the darkness like a shining lamp.
Then, they clearly saw what those fragments were...
