OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess
Chapter 1514: Unexpected Fortune
However, Jing Jia said her pregnancy foundation was unstable, though Qingmei didn’t feel anything.
Since she became pregnant, she has been eating well, sleeping well, and hasn’t had any unpleasant events.
But since Jing Jia said so, Qingmei naturally took it as a sacred decree.
After profuse thanks, Qingmei left with the orchid.
After she left, Zhi’er emerged from behind the screen beside Jing Jia.
"Mother, that orchid looks golden in my eyes. Just what kind of life destiny did you craft for Sister Qingmei?"
Jing Jia laughed, "A destiny fit for kings and ministers. Chu Ping’s martial arts are excellent and Qingmei is kind and upright. The child they bear could very well be granted titles and ranks."
"Moreover, with magical protection, you needn’t worry. You can retrieve your spell left with Qingmei. Otherwise, it continually drains your own energy, and with the Divine Enthronement Ceremony imminent, you need to focus entirely."
"I’ll handle matters with Qingmei, you need not be overly concerned."
Upon hearing Jing Jia’s words, Zhi’er obediently nodded, "Then I thank you, Mother!"
She waved her sleeves, her hands fluttering, and as Qingmei sat in the carriage, a golden light floated above her head.
It turns out she felt comfortable due to Zhi’er secretly providing protection.
Qingmei, holding the orchid, planned to return home immediately and place the orchid on her windowsill.
The orchid in the pot had three blooms; it was a white variety with red-golden stamens, appearing vaguely in bloom, truly beautiful.
Accompanied by a leisurely fragrance, Qingmei was so fond of it, holding the flower pot to her chest and closing her eyes to relax.
Suddenly!
The carriage came to a screeching halt!
Qingmei nearly tumbled out.
To protect the orchid, she quickly braced against the side wall of the carriage with her hand.
But she was still forced to lean sideways inside the carriage; luckily, her belly was unharmed and she securely held onto the orchid.
"Uncle Qian, what’s happening!?" Qingmei asked in fright.
The coachman outside replied, "Young Madam, two carriages collided ahead!"
Qingmei was greatly shocked, and peered outside through the curtain lifted by the coachman.
Sure enough, not far ahead, a carriage dashed out from the adjacent side road and directly collided with the leading frame.
Both sides had suffered serious damage, with risk of fatal destruction.
Furthermore, people from both carriages had fallen out, hanging lifelessly on the shafts, blood gradually dripping down, a glaring red color!
The road was blocked, and they couldn’t pass through.
Yet Qingmei didn’t choose to turn around and leave; she quickly got off the carriage: "Quickly, Uncle Qian, let’s hurry and take them to the medical center. Don’t let any lives be lost!"
Even in such circumstances, she did not forget to hold onto her orchid.
After alighting from the carriage, Qingmei wanted to rush forward to help, but Uncle Qian hurriedly stopped her: "Young Madam, you’re pregnant, you’d better not go. Let me assist instead!"
Qingmei had to wait by the roadside.
Local residents came in to help, and at that moment, a house being renovated nearby, which was using rollers to haul foundation stones, suddenly had its rope snap!
The foundation stone on the roller suddenly fell, rolling down the slope directly crashing into Qingmei’s rear wheel!
The horse raised its hooves, letting out intense squeals, clearly greatly frightened.
Only to see the horse break free of its tether, frightened, and race forward.
Meanwhile, the carriage, losing control, with the stone weighing down, tipped entirely upward, in a semi-standing state.
Qingmei widened her eyes, unable to believe what was happening before her.
If she hadn’t decided to get off the carriage to save people earlier, she surely would have been frightened into a miscarriage inside the carriage at this moment!
