“He lost his mind.” Adrian muttered as he actually felt the energy level of the Samadhi True Fire go down because some of the essence of the soul fragment entered Chiyo’s body.
Chiyou’s hair that was laid down suddenly stood up into spikes before turning into flames. Even his body became enveloped in a thin layer of flames that empowered his entire body. No normal attacks would be able to hurt him at all and even Adrian’s normal attacks did not do any damage. Any small injury that Chiyou gets would immediately recover using the powerful vitality of the Samadhi True Fire.
“What side are you on anyways!” Adrian shouted but he did not talk to Chiyou but to the Samadhi True Fire as they are in essence made of the same energy. The Samadhi True Fire is made from the soul fragment of an Asmodian while Adrian himself is almost a pure blooded Asmodian.
“It seems that even you have lost your mind in front of pure unbridled power!” Chiyou stated as even his normal speech would produce flames from his mouth.
“Arrogance at its finest but all of it came from one’s borrowed power and not from one’s own.” Adrian stated as he finally went for the kill.
Adrian vanished from Chiyou’s sight as even the empowered version of the latter could no longer detect him. Universal Threat is something that even Greater Gods could not detect so why will Chiyou who is still at the Lower God rank be able to sense it. Even a Martial God like him will be unable to sense Adrian as his body is now scattered in multiple dimensions as of this moment.
“Where are you!? Show yourself, demon! Did you flee because of my strength?!” Chiyo’s taunted Adrian but he did not show but that did not mean that the battle is already over.
After Chiyou muttered the insults, a golden beam of light suddenly pierced through the rubble and smoke. This golden beam of light is directed towards Chiyou, and it hit his body like a truck. The golden beam of light managed to make Chiyou slid back a few meters away as this was none of other than Kanlaon’s breath attack. It was not just Kanlaon’s breath attack as the shadows suddenly turned into sharp spikes that all aimed towards Chiyou.
“It is that shadow hound!” Chiyou stated as his body got hit by the shadow spikes and it triggered his memory of the fight against Sirius.
The shadow spikes launched at Chiyou did not even pierce his body though as all of them shattered when they came in contact with the barrier around his body. Only Kanlaon’s dragon breath managed to pierce his barrier but even that only did little damage and push Chiyou back a little. Just as Chiyou is focused on the shadows beneath him, a powerful shine appeared in the skies and bathe him with light.
The divine light that came from the skies which is actually just the upper ceiling of the cave pushed him down into the ground. Saena could be seen pouring every bit of light that she could gather in this place. It became the energy used to fire off her most powerful attack and it proved effective as Chiyou’s body could be seen getting seared from the divine light.
“Impossible! I am being burned by fire! This searing light! It is similar to that wretched Vermillion Bird of the South!” Chiyou thought as he thought that he was already immune to all types of flames because his current energy is from the Samadhi True Fire.
Chiyou then looked at Saena and noticed that she exuded some of the aura of the Vermillion Bird of the South as if the Avian Overlord passed some of its strength to her. Seeing the threat of the Vermillion Bird of the South reviving through Saena, Chiyou jumped towards her and wanted to end her life. Any being that could revive one of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts would put a heavy stopper on their plans.
The plans of the Kami organization heavily rely on the fact that the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts stay dead. If any one of them revives then they would be back to square one as the Seal of the Four Directions would be restored. Any resemblance of the Four Cardinal Divine Beasts must be destroyed upon the eyes of any Kami organization member.
Chiyou jumped and flew towards Saena as he endured the blistering light. He planned to sacrifice at least one arm if he has a chance to kill Saena. Unfortunately for Chiyou, Saena is not the only one that is flying above him. A powerful bolt of lightning suddenly hit Chiyou’s body and slammed him directly to the ground.
Chiyou felt a heavy presence as the lightning struck because that bolt was none other than Kimat. He manifested into a lightning bolt and slammed Chiyou to the ground himself because of the latter being one of the killers of the White Tiger of the West. Chiyou could see the mark of the White Tiger of the West on the body of Chiyou. It manifests as a paw mark of a tiger and Kimat immediately saw it when Chiyou’s upper clothes disintegrated.
Kimat did not stay and pushed Chiyou onto the ground because the latter burst into flames. Some of the hairs on Kimat’s fur erven got singed which meant the flames could burn even the bodies of divine beasts. Chiyou stood up but did not expect that the ground suddenly caving in from beneath him. The ground did not just cave in, but vines suddenly sprouted from it and attempted to send him six feet beneath the ground.
Wisteria was also done cleaning up the battlefield on her end as she also started to help her siblings. The vines had a crystal glint to them which meant that they are the sturdiest and most durable that she could create. The vines started to combust, but they did not turn into ashes immediately as it took time for them to weaken. When one vines becomes ashes, two more will replace it to bury Chiyou alive.
“I will not die!” Chiyou shouted as he used almost all of the energy from the Samadhi True Fire that he absorbed into his body.
A powerful explosion of purple flames destroyed everything around Chiyou and even created a large crater around him. When the smoke cleared, one could see Chiyou standing at the very center of the explosion. He was unharmed but his large body suddenly shrunk a bit as if part of his life force got burned away in the process of his attack.
“More power!” Chiyou shouted as he reached out for the Samadhi True Fire once again as if his body now craved for it like an addict.
The soulbounds could see that they cannot harm Chiyou because of the Samadhi True Fire energy in his body. Chiyou, on the other hand, could not heavily harm any of the soulbounds despite the power from the Samadhi True Fire. It would be a vicious cycle of trying to harm each other but Chiyou’s body could be seen starting to break down.
Chiyou’s sturdy body is not being damage by Adrian’s soulbounds but by the energy rampaging inside of him. The power of the Samadhi True Fire or the soul fragment of an Asmodian cannot be contained in the body of a mortal that has yet to fully transform it into a divine body. It was breaking down from the intense energies clashing inside of him.
The divine energy and the energy from the Samadhi True Fire are fighting for supremacy inside the body of Chiyou. The only problem is that his body is not powerful enough to contain or make use of both of them fully. Chiyou might think the bursts of power that he gets when the two energies collide is making him stronger, but it also simultaneously kills him. One could really describe him now as two flames crossing against each other but not colliding as they are dousing each other instead.
The energy of the Samadhi True Fire became something addictive to Chiyou, but it also poisoned him as well. The Samadhi True Fire amplified his desire to destroy and rage on, but it also destroys his body along the way. Seeing the pathetic martial god craving for more of the Samadhi True Fire, Adrian finally made his move when Chiyou was not paying attention. In an instant, Adrian appeared in front of Chiyou with the hand of the latter stretched towards the Samadhi True Fire.
“My flam…!” Chiyou blurted at his final words as his head slowly separated from his body.
Adrian’s hands felt numb as he did not expect that Chiyou’s defense was so hard even in that pitiful state. He had to use all of his nether energy and primordial energy to even make the cut. This also meant that the nether domain was dispelled in the process, but he did kill Chiyou in the end.
