Chapter 2603: Consumed by Fire
“I will die!” Chiyou thought as he saw the bodies of the Emei Sect elders disintegrate in the nether mist.
The proud and confident Chiyou known for being a martial god has suddenly found himself in a situation where his imminent doom is near. He has lost all hope that the Emei Sect could even help him, and the situation will never be better for him. About half of the Kami organization members are out towards the norther continent which means no one is going to save him.
The only Kami organization members that are present are those that are on guard duty or those heavily injured. They were very confident that no one will ever find their hideout as it has been unexposed for thousands of years. The fact that it was exposed now did not even occur to them and they had full confidence about it. They did not even utilize their Seers to look if their hideout will be detected.
Chiyou then looked at the flames burning near him as it looked like a beacon of hope for him. The only thing that burned brightly inside the thick dangerous mist and the only thing that kept him alive is calling for him. Chiyou knew that he cannot escape permanent disability if he uses more of the Samadhi True Fire’s power but that is the only thing he could see that will help him with the opponent that he has now.

[The Seal of Four Directions have weakened, and partial divine energy will now flow towards the sealed fallen gods.]
“This!” Chiyou shouted as he suddenly felt it as the invisible barrier that kept some of his strength sealed has been lifted.
Chiyou suddenly had a burst of energy as his strength went from demigod to Lower God in an instant. In terms of eastern continent standards, he went from Ascendant Immortal to First Stage Divine Immortal. The boost in strength also increased his overall energy which helped him heal some of his wounds, but existing damage did not get erased.
“They succeeded! This is what I needed! I shall kill you, demon!” Chiyou shouted as he suddenly extended his hand towards the Samadhi True Fire.
The purple flames suddenly rushed towards Chiyou, but Adrian did nothing as he merely watched. Adrian wanted to know if another being could actually control the soul of an Asmodian. A being stronger than High Gods is being controlled by a Lower God. It should be impossible even if this is a soul fragment because souls are trickier to use than divine energy.
“Come to me flames of purgatory! I shall be the one that burns this world to cinders!” Chiyou shouted as his body started to morph into a larger being that has a sash made of purple flames.
The oni mask fused with his face and created a very horrifying image while his body is covered with divine energy. Chiyou really did increase his strength to the ceiling of a Lower God as that is as far as one can do. He could not push through Greater God as the restriction has yet to lift the veil on that power ceiling.
“This is true divine power!” Chiyou shouted as he regained divine energy and immediately became haughty as if he was not being thrashed by Adrian earlier.
“That divine energy is not yours though. Can you even control it?” Adrian muttered as he showed his self in his creepy looking nether cloak and nether scythe.
“I shall show you the power of a martial god! I have killed thousands of gods using my own power!” Chiyou shouted as he released a powerful punch that created a boom burst.
Adrian easily dodged the attack, but the walls of the underground area were not that lucky. With just one of Chiyou’s punch, he made the entire underground area quake. He even destroyed the pavilion on the other side along the way. He might have also killed some of the disciples of the Emei Sect as Adrian knew that Kanlaon was fighting in that area.
“Do you see this! This is the power of a real god!” Chiyou stated as he became drunk on his own power.
“You just got some of your divine energy back and you are already becoming to absorbed in yourself. No wonder all of you were sealed back then. Thousands of years living as mortals and all of you have never understood what it meant to be the lesser being.” Adrian stated.
“Who enjoys being a lesser being in this world when strength is what dictates it! Do you think you could barge in our hideout if you were weak?! Do not worry because I shall show you what kind of lesser being you truly are!” Chiyou stated as he suddenly made use of the Samadhi True Fire more as he became intoxicated by the amount of energy it could give him.
Adrian could see Chiyou siphoning more and more of the Samadhi True Fire, but he let him. The wounds on Chiyou’s body also recovered as a result of getting more energy and converting it to divine energy. Chiyou’s body swelled with more energy he absorbed, and he looked like a goliath compared to Adrian and the latter is even in a bigger form.
“How does it feel to be a lesser being, demon?!” Chiyou asked as his body now looked different from his human form earlier.
If one were to describe the Asuras in ancient myths, then Chiyou would now resemble one. The only thing missing is the fact that he does not have two extra arms. His body became red though as it looks like it was about to burst and the purple red sash that floats around him identified that he was a god in the eastern continent. Adrian, in his current form, really did look like he was the lesser being when both of them are in front of each other.
“Die!” Chiyou shouted as he gathered divine energy in both his palms and slammed them against each other.
The palm slamming of Chiyou created a powerful wave of energy in front of him that actually disintegrated everything it passed through. The partially destroyed pavilion crumbled to dust and even the unfortunate Emei Sect members and Kami organization members became dust when hit. The only thing that was not hit is Adrian because he vanished from his location in an instant. Chiyou then found himself suddenly having a large cut on his elbow.
“I aimed for the neck though. Am I getting rusty?” Adrian muttered as he appeared behind Chiyou.
“Stop buzzing like an insect!” Chiyou shouted as he attacked but this time he used more of the Samadhi True Fire.
Chiyou opened his mouth, and purple flames came out of it. Adrian merely did what he did earlier and stopped time. As soon as he stopped time, Adrian empowered his scythe with nether energy and aimed it towards Chiyou’s neck just like last time. He aimed it precisely this time, but the attack ended up hitting Chiyou’s shoulder once more. The only difference now is that Adrian found the reason why Chiyou’s neck is being saved.
“That flaming sash is annoying.” Adrian muttered as it was the sash made of Samadhi True Fire that saved Chiyou from having his head decapitated.
“Stop running away!” Chiyou shouted angrily as he jumped high and then slammed his tow large fists on the ground which made the entire area shake once more.
“It seems the flames also affects his own psyche, and he does not even know it. He is being consumed by the fire as it induces rage because he was rather calm and collected. I guess he had become drunk on power granted by the rage filled soul fragment.” Adrian thought as his enemy now is no different from a divine beast in its berserk state.
“Stop dodging!” Chiyou once again shouted as he slammed his fists on the ground again, but he did not even hit Adrian.
All of Adrian’s soulbounds reported to him that the beings they are exterminating are all escaping instead of fighting them. The underground area is already a volatile place to use powerful moves as it could mean the entire ceiling crashing down on them. The only think holding it together is the formation of the place but even that is being destroyed by the enraged Chiyou.
“More! I need more power!” Chiyou shouted as he did not even use his hands to channel the Samadhi True Fire anymore.
Chiyou in all of his rage actually opened his own mouth and funneled the flames of the Samadhi True Fire directly inside of his body. The Samadhi True Fire did not lessen because it is an everlasting flame as long as the basin is holding onto its essence. It might also mean that Chiyou would be empowered continuously as long as he siphons energy from it.
