The Emei Sect elders heard the effects of the talisman used by Chiyou and immediately rushed towards the hidden area underground. One would think that at least one of them should stay and protect the sect but they have long abandoned the morals of their sect. All of them have surrendered to the Kami organization in pursuit of their individual strengths.
All of them rushed towards the gates and even deactivated the illusion on the passageway. They also called upon all of the senior members of the sect that they have seen on their way. Their traversal was so quick that they failed to notice the sleeping guard in the doorway. When one of them have finally noticed, half of the group have already pushed through towards the hidden pavilions.
“Fellow Disciple! What are you doing!?” One of the senior members asked as the ones there were mostly senior members as the elders told them to only check.
When the Emei Sect senior member touched their fellow disciple, the coldness of her skin finally caught up to her warmth. The sleeping disciples before them were now dead as if their life was drained from them. They did not even notice the danger, but they heard the first signs of it as clanging chains.
“What is that senior sister?” One of the Emei Sect members asked but it was too late.
Some tried to run towards the other exit, but they were repelled by cold hard chains. They were now trapped inside of the special area that Charon cordoned off and now no one has access. This was a special skill that Charon practiced as his chains have properties to drag beings into his special pocket dimension. The Emei Sect members were no longer in the real world but dragged inside of the pocket dimension that Charon has inside his body.
“Find the exit!” The senior member of the Emei Sect shouted but all of them were repelled from the exits.
“As master decreed, all of you shall have your karma fall upon you. Sinners that are covered in the blood of the innocent. I shall send you to the afterlife.” Charon stated in a cold eerie tone that made all of the Emei Sect members skin crawl.
The Emei Sect members did not know where that voice came from, but they knew when a powerful demonic beast is present. They can feel that the monster that trapped them has the same power as those demonic beasts that have the power level of an Ascendant Immortal. They also knew that special spaces like this will always have a hidden exit, and they could escape when they find it.
“Find the hidden exit! Lots of demonic beasts that have the same ability will always have a secret exit. It is trapped here with us which is why it is not showing itself. It is hiding because we might be able to defeat it!” One of the senior members of the Emei Sect stated.
“Do you truly believe so?” One of the corpses of the guards suddenly stated despite being sprawled onto the ground in a lifeless manner.
“Hmmph!” The senior member of the Emei Sect did not even waste time and decapitated the corpse with her sword.
Undead are not new enemies to those living in the eastern continent as there are Corpse Cultivators that live there. The Emei Sect also has their fair share of encounters with them as they were dispatched by the Murim Alliance to kill evil corpse cultivators. Even if they only participated to avoid suspicion, the experience still gave them valuable insights on dealing with undead. It would have been good if Charon was an ordinary undead.
“All of you will be punished. Karma has caught up.” The decapitated head suddenly stated as chains suddenly sprung up from the walls and floors which impaled those that were unable to respond.
“Argh!” The members that were killed could only release a small scream before their insides were pierced.

“Where did the others that came with us?” One of the elders questioned as their group suddenly shrunk.
“They were following us earlier. Did they escape and deserted?” One of the elders stated.
“That is impossible. They have the jade bangles that restrict them from betraying us. They might have been caught by a trap. We shall push forward because the commands of Master Chiyou are priority.” The head elder of the Emei Sect stated as they finally reached the hidden pavilion area, but it is now being destroyed by beasts made of the mist covering the pavilion of Chiyou.
“Split up and deal with the beasts! Core elders, come with me and find Master Chiyou!” The head elder stated as five other elders came with her and charged inside of the nether mist.
“Master Chiyou! We are here to help you!”
“Do not ruin my fun.” Adrian’s eerie voice slipped pass the ears of the Emei Sect elders before they found themselves injured as they suddenly found themselves cut in places they did not expect.
“Keeugh!” The grunts of the Emei Sect elders could be heard but were silenced in the next moment as Adrian’s quick scythe slash ended their misery.
All the Emei Sect elders that entered Adrian’s domain had weakened stats as they could not disperse the erosion of nether energy. They did not have the protection of the Samadhi True Fire like Chiyou which is why they entered the place of their deaths in a literal sense. The proud elders of the Emei Sect that betrayed the eastern continent in exchange for the power given to them by the Kami Organization were killed like nothing.
They could not believe that the strength that they received from the Kami organization in exchange for betraying their own people could do nothing under absolute strength. At the very least, they did not suffer as Adrian no longer wasted time. The sudden vanishing of the life force of the Emei Sect elders made Chiyou tense up and think of ways to save himself. He knows that his life is now in danger, and he will die if he does not do something drastic.
