Chapter 311: The Enemy’s Mansion

Chapter 311: The Enemy’s Mansion

Chapter 311

Oliver was standing on top of a long building, looking at the wide city. It was quite huge.

He had already mapped most of the parts and scouted the troublesome areas since he parted ways with the demon noble lady.

’So that’s where the upper class live, huh.’

He looked at the posh area. He was at the edge, standing on the boundary which separated the lower class from the upper class.

“This is it.” He let out a smile as he stretched his hand and cracked his knuckles.

He jumped from one building to another, his speed far too much for the ordinary eye to follow.

“It’s time to do it.” He mumbled to himself, landing softly behind an extravagant mansion.

’I should be able to find it here.’ He thought as he walked with brisk steps towards the mansion, quietly entering the place.

With Abyss energy surrounding him, he was able to infiltrate with ease.

He noticed multiple demons in servant attire moving back and forth; the whole mansion was busy.

Oliver moved in through the crowd, leaving them behind, and went upstairs.

’This person should possess one.’

He glanced through the open door into a spacious room.

Inside the room was a naked demon man surrounded by women on his sides; they were engaging in carnal pleasure.

From his information, this man was the oldest son of one of the household heads.

’Huh, demons do it the same way…’ His eyes burned as he looked at the vulgar scene.

He wondered if different demons did it differently, given their varied body constitutions.

He ignored the noisy bunch and scanned the room. His eyesight was exceptional ever since he had gained the special eyes.

He found it.

It was there, lying on the table like an ordinary watch.

Except it was not an ordinary watch at all.

The device demons used to communicate and connect—that’s what it was.

It was exclusive to the strong and influential demons like them.

’Well, I’ll just be taking this quietly.’

He looked at the object keenly, and then back at the messy bunch on the bed.

’I need to wait for the right time.’

He knew he couldn’t just casually walk into the room and pick it up.

Despite being protected by Abyss energy, he didn’t want to risk exposing himself in the open.

He was not sure what sort of skill the other party might have, despite confirming that the demon was just a useless piece of trash.

He knew it would take them a while before they wrapped it up; until then, all he could do was wait.

The table where the watch was placed was close to the bed, after all.

’Sigh.’

He glanced at the long corridor of the mansion and once again looked back inside.

’Guess I could look around till then.’

Since he was already inside the demon’s house, he might as well take a look and perhaps find something, or some clue as to how he could get back to his home.

The rooms were at best ordinary; there was nothing particularly eye-catching for him in there.

He also felt they were far inferior to his room back at the clan.

’Well, I can’t really be comparing them; the scale is too vast.’

He knew it was not fair to do such a comparison. The Mystic Purge Clan was one of the world’s greatest clans, a pillar of humanity.

While this was just an ordinary demon’s mansion.

He shook his head and looked inside another room.

’What am I even expecting?’ Oliver wondered as he chanced upon another spare room.

He didn’t know what he wanted. Maybe he just wanted to kill time while the demon finished his business?

He never expected that he would be so free as to roam around in such a dangerous place.

Trusting the Abyss energy so much… was it good or not?

Tap. Tap. Tap.

He heard footsteps.

’What happened? The rhythm of the steps suddenly shifted? The servants are hurrying around…’

Naturally, his hearing was exceptional as an exorcist. He was vigilantly keeping track of the sounds and smells in the surroundings to ensure uniformity.

In a dangerous place, he was starting to develop this habit early on. As per his memories, this would definitely help him in the future arcs.

’Someone has entered the mansion. The air feels heavier, and the footsteps are heavier.’

’Is it the master of the mansion…? The father of that douche?’ He had an assumption.

“DAMN THOSE SONS OF BITCHES!!”

A hoarse and loud voice cursed aloud. It was definitely the man who had just entered.

“DAMN IT! EYEING MY WEALTH!! How dare they!?”

Crash!

Smash!

Oliver observed from behind the wall, looking at the spectacle on the ground floor as a bulky man was smashing around the furniture while cursing someone.

From his words, it looked as if he was angered by someone who was after his resources.

’A bad meeting. The household heads were summoned somewhere…’

He could deduce that, given the recent timing of him breaking apart the lord’s secret place, it looked like they were called to discuss that.

And from what he could predict, they must have reached a solution as well—a solution that required them to pour their resources endlessly.

Or there was no reason for the head of a household, who was rich and resourceful, to curse someone for being after his wealth.

It was likely that this was something that required some massive sacrifices.

His heart raced. He didn’t know what they had discussed, but if it was something that required the combined wealth of so many upper echelons of the city, then it was definitely not something simple.

And if that was the case, then there was a chance that whatever they had decided upon could lead them to him, the main culprit.

He knew he was no match for these people—especially not the lord of the city.

And that was considering his Abyss energy and other powers.
