No Money to Cultivate Immortality?
Chapter 462: Zhang Yu Battles Chan Rong
As Chan Rong spoke, Zhang Yu soared into the sky like a shooting star, heading straight toward him.
Ignoring Chan Rong’s words, Zhang Yu struck out with his palm. The Heavenly Kunlun Mountain-Moving Might erupted in full force, unleashing a blow from the Ten Planetary Forms—Comet Impact.
With a thunderous crash, the rampaging Earthfiend Gravity shattered the atmosphere layer by layer as it surged forward.
At the epicenter of this force, Chan Rong seemed crushed under the weight of towering mountains. His body emitted a series of sharp cracks.
Meanwhile, the distorted air warped wildly under the gravity’s pulse, converging around Chan Rong like swirling tides, trembling violently like a blazing white comet.
At the peak of the Earthfiend Gravity’s explosion, the atmosphere burst apart with an earthshaking roar.
Yet amid the deafening blast, the flames around Chan Rong only grew more dazzling, blazing with intensified brilliance.
It was like dawn turning to high noon. He radiated a terrifying heat, warping the air across the battlefield.
Chan Rong twisted his neck and looked at Zhang Yu calmly.
“Not bad,” he said. “But with the blessing of my Vajra Forge Law Husk, did you really think you could hurt me?”At that moment, a Vajra Forge advertisement flashed into view above the battlefield.
In the Spiritual Realm stands, the students of Vajra University praised the spectacle.
“No wonder Senior Brother Chan Rong tanked that hit—he’s advertising Vajra Forge!”
“Genius! The fight just started, and he’s already earning spirit coins without throwing a punch. Absolute dominance!”
Chan Rong turned to Zhang Yu. “That was your move. Now it’s my turn.”
Zhang Yu narrowed his eyes, heart growing heavier.
This guy’s tough.
No wonder Vajra University specializes in body refinement—the synergy between their techniques and Law Husks really works.
And they make money with every move. Damn, that’s sweet.
Why hasn’t anyone at Wanfa University paid me to advertise yet?
Still, Zhang Yu held his ground.
He knew the key to this battle lay in Chan Rong’s position.
Before the match began, Zhang Yu and Mo Shangjin had already laid out a strategy for fighting Vajra University.
…
Back then, Mo Shangjin had said, “Chan Rong’s Great Sun Aspects cause too much destruction. If he hits our construction site, everyone will overheat, and the materials will go up in flames.”
“At that point, forget building anything. You’ll all be forced to forfeit.”
“So if we want to win, the first step is for you to pin down Chan Rong, make sure his attacks don’t reach Shi Huaiyu’s team.”
“But if you can force him toward their site instead, then it’s their teammates who’ll suffer.”
Su Yanyang added, “Chan Rong will likely expect this. Once the fight begins, you and he will wrestle for field control—he’ll try to shift the battle your way, while you’ll try to push him back.”
Mo Shangjin nodded. “So the outcome won’t rely on Zhang Yu alone. While he holds off Chan Rong, it’ll depend on both sides’ construction speed—and whether your team can finish the array in time to buff Zhang Yu or weaken Chan Rong…”
…
Now, Chan Rong stood before Zhang Yu, blazing flames soaring around him. His hair flared like fire, surging with each blast of heat.
But Zhang Yu didn’t budge.
If Chan Rong broke through to the construction site, it would all be over.
Staring straight into the blinding light, Zhang Yu didn’t even blink.
Because before the match began, he had already replaced both eyes with Time-Wrecking Demon Pupils, instead of the usual one.
And thank heavens he had.
Just looking at Chan Rong could have fried his eyes otherwise—and healing them would’ve cost a fortune.
All these thoughts flashed through Zhang Yu’s mind in a split second.
Meanwhile, Chan Rong’s power had reached its peak.
As the Great Sun Aspects surged, his mana coursed like radiant sunlight.
Under his will, he could instantly heat any point within a hundred meters—and the smaller the area, the higher the temperature.
He pointed.
A searing beam burst forth, slamming into Zhang Yu.
The blazing light exploded on a spot no bigger than a thumbprint, like starlight bursting across his body, unleashing an intense spike of heat.
It was a move from the Great Sun Aspects—Firefly Gleam.
With each point of his finger, Chan Rong detonated blinding starbursts across Zhang Yu’s vital points.
He laughed and said, “Kid, when your body breaks down, head to Shedding Hall for a replacement. Cheaper than the medical bills.”
Another gesture—and a Shedding Hall ad replaced the last one in the sky.
The Vajra University students roared with laughter.
“He squeezed in another ad?!”
“Incredible! Senior Brother Chan Rong profits with every attack!”
“Meanwhile, Zhang Yu from Wanfa University loses money with every blow. The difference is obvious!”
Yet Zhang Yu didn’t retreat.
With a roar, he dodged and weaved between Chan Rong’s strikes. His palms shifted rapidly as he activated all seven aspects of the Civil Engineering Seven Absolutes, unleashing Earthfiend Gravity and powering up his Heavenly Kunlun Mountain-Moving Might.
Comet Impact!
With each slam of his palms, Chan Rong staggered back as if mountains crushed into his body.
Then Zhang Yu raised one finger to the sky.
The crowd stirred.
“Does he have an ad, too?”
Zhang Yu shouted, “Ad space available!”
Chan Rong laughed.
He felt the growing pressure bearing down on him, but still sneered.
“You really are far weaker than Mo Shangjin.”
“That Mountain-Moving Might of yours… barely grade 10, isn’t it?”
“With strength like that… how can you hope to defeat me?”
He struck again, unleashing Firefly Gleam in a relentless barrage.
Zhang Yu didn’t flinch. Starbursts detonated across his body, yet he pressed forward, hurling Comet Impacts with unyielding fury.
Their clash became a brutal head-on assault. Both unleashed their might, devastating each other with every move.
Zhang Yu’s body was covered in scorched wounds, his protective Qi blasted away. Burnt flesh blackened across his skin.
Chan Rong’s skin cracked under the gravity’s pressure, shedding golden powder with every step.
Every time Zhang Yu tried to push him toward Wanfa’s construction site, Chan Rong flared up to hold his ground—at great cost to his own body.
The spectators roared.
“What a battle! Keep going!”
“Hope they both fight themselves broke—we’ll have more job openings!”
“This is way better than watching ads!”
“Don’t stop! Fight until your loans run dry!”
“Hell yeah! Watching two top students destroy each other’s future potential—that’s the real show!”
Amid the chaos, Zhang Yu remained calm, analyzing the situation.
Right now, I’m pitting my Earthfiend Gravity against his body. He’s holding firm.
At the same time, he’s superheating me, trying to melt me down and reduce my strength.
If we keep fighting like this, it comes down to whose body gives out first—his under my pressure, or mine under his heat.
With my Earth-Wood Saint Body, I’ve got enough resistance to endure his Great Sun Aspects for a while.
If I revealed the full power of a grade-20 Mountain-Moving Might, I’d win this battle by attrition.
But… I’ve only been cultivating the Fourth and Fifth Absolutes for just over two months. I learned the Sixth last month, and the Seventh only this month.
If I show grade-20 proficiency in all of them now, people will realize I maxed out four Absolutes in two months. That’s too outrageous.
I’ve trained so hard, worked so many jobs, eaten so much crap—I’m not throwing it away just for a flashy win. But I can’t keep this up either. It’s not worth it.
He reached down with one hand and grabbed.
Boom!
The ground exploded. A massive boulder shot skyward, charged by Earthfiend Gravity, and hurtled toward Vajra University’s construction site like a meteor.
Boom!
The stone shattered the air, roaring with thunder.
Chan Rong’s brow twitched. He countered with a Firefly Gleam, obliterating the rock.
But Zhang Yu raised his hand again. More stones launched skyward, screaming like meteors.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Thunder echoed endlessly as the sky filled with rockfall.
A meteor shower of boulders rained down on Vajra University’s construction site.
If the barrage connected, it would wreak havoc on their operations and severely injure their team.
Yet Chan Rong didn’t panic.
He shifted his aim and formed hand seals. Surging martial Qi burst forth like fire meteors, intercepting the incoming rocks.
Explosions erupted in midair, filling the sky with shockwaves.
Meteor after meteor burst like miniature suns, churning up a storm of dust.
Chan Rong narrowed his eyes as Zhang Yu vanished into the smoky haze.
“Hmph. Trying to use the smoke to hide, are you?”
