Chapter 2239 - 2224: Terrifying Blood

  • Next Chapter

Shi Feng saw the black figure charging violently forward, about to collide with the giant blood hand, when suddenly, the blood hand vanished!

"Behind you!" At this moment, Shi Feng shouted upwards. He had already seen that the blood hand had appeared behind the creature with the face wrapped in black bandages.

Upon hearing Shi Feng's shout, he turned around instantly. But just as he turned, the blood hand instantly appeared behind him again, then launched a violent palm strike forward, crashing savagely onto the mysterious creature.

"Boom!"

"Ah!"

The sound of the explosion and a cry of pain echoed simultaneously, as the black figure was violently blasted away by the strike.

"Bang!" With another loud crash, the black figure fell heavily to the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.

The next moment, that bloody giant hand reappeared above the swirling dust, and once more, it slammed down fiercely, striking heavily.

"Boom!" Another violent blast sounded, shaking the heavens and the earth.

The mysterious creature with the bandaged face suffered two violent strikes, yet Shi Feng did not rush forward to rescue him; instead, he kept retreating, fully attuning his perception to the surroundings.

Once the trembling ground calmed down, Shi Feng halted his retreat.

At this time, he noticed that the blood hand which slammed the ground had disappeared, and the previously swirling dust was now more vigorous.

Yet Shi Feng could sense that the figure within the dust cloud still had a presence.

Gradually, the swirling, dense dust began to dissipate, revealing not far away on the ground, a figure lying there in a rather sorry state.

Shi Feng could tell that although the mysterious creature suffered the two fierce strikes from the blood hand, it hadn't really harmed him.

"Damn! Damn! Damn!" Subsequently, the mysterious creature shouted in a cold voice.

Soon after, Shi Feng saw those eyes glaring out through the black bandages, once again fixed tightly on him, filled with an ice-cold chill.

In the next moment, the figure lying on the ground vanished in a flash.

When he reappeared, he was already in front of Shi Feng, and then a cold, deep voice spoke to Shi Feng: "Just now, you saw me being attacked, why didn't you make a move?"

The tone was questioning Shi Feng.

Shi Feng sneered inwardly, but said aloud, "Even you can't handle that blood hand. If I make a move, it would be suicidal."

After saying this, Shi Feng added, "Now my mission is to serve as cannon fodder. If I get killed, who will carry out the all-important task of being cannon fodder?"

Hearing Shi Feng's words, the mysterious creature coldly replied again: "You are quite dutiful!"

"Of course, since I'm acting as cannon fodder, I must see it through to the end. It is the mindset an excellent cannon fodder should have," Shi Feng said.

"Just now, I didn't notice that blood hand. How did you discover it?" the mysterious creature asked again.

He wouldn't easily forget that it was Shi Feng who alerted him to look up, and then he saw that large blood-red hand.

"I have a naturally keen sense. I caught a slight fluctuation," Shi Feng replied to him.

He definitely didn't intend to reveal that it was actually the Sacred Flame that sensed it.

"Yin Corpse, naturally keen sense?" Judging by his tone, it was clear he found Shi Feng's words somewhat unbelievable.

In his understanding, Yin Corpses were death creatures that didn't even possess souls, with dull perceptions.

Upon hearing his words, Shi Feng seriously nodded and said, "Yes, that's how I am!"

"Nothing is absolute; perhaps there are some differences," the mysterious creature silently thought to himself.

Upon reflection, since this Yin Corpse had become his cannon fodder, entirely under his control, its acute soul perception was only beneficial to him.

Just like when the blood hand appeared, it was due to Shi Feng's warning that he realized it.

Even though he ultimately endured two violent strikes from the blood hand.

"Although that hand is bizarre, appearing and vanishing mysteriously, its power doesn't seem strong," Shi Feng was still contemplating this issue in his mind.

Although he couldn't discern the level of existence of that blood hand, the two violent strikes on this mysterious creature provided a clue.

This allowed him to conclude that the blood hand was not an existence that could wipe out his imprint.

If it were indeed that existence, the creature wouldn't appear as relaxed as it does now after those two strikes.

Likewise, the mysterious creature shared Shi Feng's viewpoint on the blood hand. Now that he knew the blood hand was not as formidable, he viewed the previous sense of eeriness much more lightly.

Earlier, he was wary of the unknown, but now having seen and even been attacked by that entity, it quelled his unease.

"From now on, maintain your keen perception. If you sense anything again, notify me immediately," the mysterious creature again instructed Shi Feng.

"Of course." Shi Feng responded with an expression indicating the obviousness of the task.

Then, after scanning the area with his perception, he asked the mysterious creature, "Shall we continue on, still heading in the original direction?"

"Hmm." Hearing Shi Feng's question, the mysterious creature nodded and replied, "If there needs to be a change in direction, I will inform you."

With his confirmation, Shi Feng resumed his steps, proceeding in the original direction.

The two carefully continued on, although the thick scent of blood lingered, and the space echoed with a "drip, drip, drip" sound.

However, after the prior incident, the mysterious creature seemed significantly more at ease, lacking the previous tension.

Despite the increasing concentration of the bloody scent and the echoing sound becoming more prominent as if beside their ears.

Shi Feng, along the way, appeared to be deep in thought, his expression growing ever more grave.

With a change in his expression, as though realizing something, he conveyed a question to the Sacred Flame in his Dantian: "Was the blood on that blood hand actually not the blood scent I smelled earlier?"

"Yes!" Upon hearing Shi Feng's query, the Sacred Flame promptly replied, adding, "Certainly not! That blood has to be... terrifying blood!"

"Terrifying blood?" Upon hearing those words, Shi Feng was slightly startled, but he could clearly feel the Sacred Flame quivering within his Dantian as it spoke.

It seemed to be afraid of something!
