Chapter 1767: Chapter 691: Inner Saint and Outer Demon_2

With a cracking sound, Qin Ming’s protective light screen shattered.

"This..." His eyes narrowed slightly, and his heart surged with waves as high as the sky. The Outer Heaven creature’s Taoist skill was incredibly profound.

However, in the next instant, a layer of Divine Light reappeared outside his body.

Using himself as bait naturally required those old monsters to provide him with enough sense of security. Isn’t everyone’s life precious?

Qin Ming quickly asked, "The main body of the Outer Heaven creature has been confirmed to be a million miles away. How are you doing right now?"

Could it be that there are two decaying Heavenly Immortals?

The Evil Ghost said nothing, attacking again, causing even more terrifying ripples to attempt to dissolve his entire body covered with Divine Talismans.

Qin Ming threatened, "If you push me too far, I’ll blow open the ’gate’ inside of me."

Suddenly, the black fog receded like a tide.

What’s going on? Has the Evil Ghost become less aggressive after being threatened?

Qin Ming thought, if it were him, he wouldn’t care about such threats.

However, the quiet room indeed fell into silence, as the black fog withdrew to the corners, merging into the walls, even that charred body vanished.

Qin Ming neither fled nor moved, standing right at the spot.

A moment later, he felt something was off with the atmosphere.

In the dead of night, he actually heard a tapping sound, like that of a cane hitting the cold ground.

The sound came very clearly from the quiet room outside the sealed chamber, reaching his ears.

This was the second half of the night, and yet his residence was so unsettling.

Another creature came? Qin Ming’s eyes grew profound.

Separated by an Array, he could sense an old figure drenched in a decaying aura, leaning on a cane, bringing with it a chill wind, coming from the darkness.

"Good child, are you alright? Grandma has come to see you, don’t be afraid." An aged voice reached him.

The door to the sealed chamber was pushed open, and an elderly woman with a waxy complexion entered, her hair snow-white, her old face like crumpled paper, dry and full of wrinkles.

It turned out to be an old monster from the Traveler Civilization, visiting unannounced in the dead of night.

"Why has Senior come?" Qin Ming inquired.

"Grandma was worried there might be an issue on your side, so she came to patrol the night." The elderly woman spoke.

Qin Ming frowned, realizing the visitor did not come with good intentions. Under normal circumstances, who would barge into another’s secluded retreat in the middle of the night without informing?

Moreover, he resonated with the strong malice emanating from the visitor.

The elderly woman continued, "Good child, you really are vigilant, your Spiritual Sense is overly sharp, you actually activated the Amulet in advance? We are one of our own. There’s a great battle far away, and Grandma came just to check on you out of concern."

Qin Ming sighed; staying alive tonight wasn’t easy.

Facing the manifestation of an Evil Ghost was one thing, but then even his so-called allies were eyeing him.

Since the creature that broke out from the Land of Fate Change wanted to use the "Gate" to extend its life, why wouldn’t a group of ancient entities near the end of their lifespan want the same?

The elderly woman from the Traveler Civilization undoubtedly had such intentions.

Desperate to survive, she had gone completely mad.

How could sharing the Auspicious Beast Blood from the Outer Heaven compare with her consuming it alone along with the ’Gate’ of the Great Saint for quicker efficacy?

How many years of life extension can the former provide?

Probably not long, and she would still return to dust.

Perhaps, only the "Gate" that the decaying Heavenly Immortal has set its eyes on could resolve her problem entirely.

As for the consequences, she had naturally thought them over.

She had a Forbidden Technique, allowing her to take over a new body without anyone noticing.

For someone like her, changing gender was no matter of concern.

At this moment, she must be willing to go all out.

After all, people live for the present, and if the moment in front of us is about to vanish, what future can there be to talk of?

Qin Ming silently moved aside to make way for her.

Since she had already come, and after all, she was technically a guest, why not let the two sinister visitors sit and discuss, perhaps they’d find common ground?

At the same time, Qin Ming tossed the talisman paper the elderly woman had given him towards the corner where the Evil Ghost was but did not activate it.

He had quite a few Immortal Talismans on him, all protective measures given by old monsters, and to be cautious, it was better not to use the one on the ground.

If the elderly woman wanted to use it, that was up to her. Anyway, Qin Ming had even pointed out the path and direction to her.

With a thud, the elderly woman’s cane made a final tap on the ground, watching Qin Ming toss aside her talisman paper, she said, "Where is the trust between people?"

Qin Ming wanted to spit in her face. Why do these ancient ones always steal his words?

Tonight, it was clear that it was the elderly woman breaking her promise and attempting to harm him, yet she still had the face to say such things?

"Hmm?" The strong figure from the Traveler Civilization finally realized something was off, her pupils contracting sharply.

"There has long been a distinguished guest, who might you be?" Her body swiftly retreated.

However, behind her, black fog spread, forming a wall, blocking her escape route.

The elderly woman’s eyes widened, seeing the fog ahead as well, an outline of a charred old man appeared, his icy eyes staring at her.

Instantly, her hair stood on end, she knew who this was, the Outer Heaven creature originally meant to be hunted was unexpectedly here.

She never expected to run into him here.

The elderly woman’s heart was sinking, knowing she herself was definitely not a match for this fiend.

The lies she told Qin Ming were actually becoming true.

At this point in time, being here, even with malice in her heart, was useless. She passively became Qin Ming’s Guardian.

Because, there was no way the decaying Heavenly Immortal would let her go.

Qin Ming from the side clasped his fists and said, "Many thanks to Senior for risking it all to come and protect me."

These words were indeed a bit heartbreaking, causing the elderly woman’s pupils to be as sharp as knives, glaring fiercely at him.

She knew, words were of no use, and a breakthrough was essential.

Although this was merely her incarnation, it housed her main consciousness inside, allowing no room for error.
