Chapter 1694: Chapter 668: Shattering the Tranquility
In Qin Ming’s pupils, Tao Patterns intertwined as he quietly watched the "grand spectacle" before him.
If not for his strong heart, he really would have been scared silly.
The whole mountain and wilderness were filled with "Outer Gods," densely packed in swarms and sheets, all coming to pay homage.
Originally, it was supposed to be him preparing to break through, to See God on Feixian Mountain.
But now everything had been reversed; he no longer needed to seek the God—myriad gods came of their own accord to pay court to him.
Especially underground, where countless light points were drawing near: some faint like fireflies, some brilliant like the stars, and amid them, there was no lack of full moons and Fierce Suns.
Such a grand occasion made Qin Ming’s expression grow solemn, as if some vast underground Immortal Dynasty were reviving, ten thousand Divine Spirits opening their eyes from slumber and all bowing their heads to kowtow in unison.
He immediately realized: back in the day, Two Puppets’ status had been quite fearsome!
The leader here—that Outer God standing in the most dazzling sun-disc—had an eighty percent chance of having known Two Puppets.
Qin Ming really wanted to fling out his arm and shout, "You may all rise."
In the end, ripples spread out from his Spiritual Field as he changed his wording: "Everyone, a young friend will soon be closing himself off to break through on Feixian Mountain. You all must guard him carefully."
The hazy silhouettes of the Outer Gods all maintained their posture of audience, quiet and silent.
Two Puppets slowly stood up and swept his gaze around, then turned and simply walked away.
Qin Ming withdrew from his seated meditation state, getting ready to leave the mountain.
After Displaying Saints here, it was not suitable to remain for long.
To put it in plain terms: put on the act, then run!
Qin Ming worried problems might arise. After all, Two Puppets had long since passed away; only the body remained now. The less he spoke, the fewer mistakes; the more he spoke, the more mistakes.
The Insect Emperor followed close behind, leaving together with him.
Once they had gone far, Qin Ming looked back and found that a vast number of "fireflies" and "stars" were still drifting about, and only after a moment did they silently scatter, each in its own way.
"Mm, seems they don’t have complete consciousness." He sensed that those Outer Gods only possessed a portion of instinct.
But that was understandable. So-called Outer Gods, Outer Demons, and the like were just imprints left behind by those who came before; they couldn’t possibly possess independent personalities and such.
"This place is truly extraordinary. In antiquity, who knows how many formidable figures came here for Divine Enthronement? The paths differ, but All Technique ultimately return to the same destination."
In the Ancient Times, there might not have been an Esoteric Path.
However, since ancient days, the world has always had Divine Spirits; the ascension methods of the various paths may differ, but there are always parts that resemble each other.
On top of that, many of the light points were clearly ancient heroic souls who died brutal deaths on Feixian Mountain, causing the Outer Gods and Outer Demons in this Earth Realm that block the path here to be truly quite numerous.
In this current era, if one cannot suppress the scene with one’s own presence, then trying to become a God here is actually extremely difficult.
For those walking the Esoteric Path, this place is indeed a land of Creation, yet at the Seeing God trial, it may be accompanied by immense peril.
"Tomorrow, I’ll have the Insect Emperor try again."
Qin Ming was actually not afraid of Outer Demons blocking his path; the God he sought to See was himself, and he had plenty of confidence to face the Outer Gods.
He only worried that Feixian Mountain’s interior hid oddities, that a complete and powerful will might appear whose realm far surpassed his own, thereby bringing uncontrollable risks.
As for other matters, such as normal cultivation and breaking through, he had more than enough confidence.
In the Night Fog, Qin Ming set out alone on the road back.
At Changgeng Village, Old Huang Niu was stunned to see him return so early. Was this the attitude of someone going deep into the mountain? He felt that this generous tenant was really a bit lazy, unlike an adventurer.
A simple and honest young man called out in greeting, "Bro, you’re back?"
His name was Huang Youwei, and his cultivation was even higher than that of his father Old Huang Niu. He occasionally went into the mountains but spent most of his time bitterly cultivating at home, hoping to revive the glory of his ancestors.
Qin Ming replied with a smile, "Youwei, still grinding away at cultivation? Remember to balance work and rest. On ordinary days, loosen up your muscles and bones a bit, and practice some Spiritual Methods. I’ll pass you a Spell."
He beckoned and gifted Huang Youwei a Dharma for tempering consciousness. The Huang Family’s ancestor had been a Great Demon, taking the fierce Body Refining Path.
Unfortunately, after over a dozen generations, some Sorcery had been lost.
"Many thanks... Brother Yong." Huang Youwei was overjoyed, rubbing his rough big hands in excitement. His face was simple and honest, his tongue clumsy and inarticulate; he wasn’t good at expressing himself.
In this Earth Realm, Qin Ming mostly roamed about in the guise of Two Puppets, so he simply took the alias Er Yong.
Old Huang Niu also repeatedly expressed his thanks, running over from the Fire Field to pay his respects.
"It’s nothing. Cultivate well, and I’ll teach you more Skill later on." Qin Ming said with a smile.
He felt that, being a fellow bovine, the name Huang Youwei was much more down-to-earth than Fifth Brother Niu Wuwei, and carried a will to advance. Fifth Brother clearly had reached a certain height in realm, with pursuits utterly different.
"Brother Yong, you’re so lazy." A little girl of five or six years old stretched out her hand and scratched her own cheeks as she teased Qin Ming, utterly innocent in her childish words.
She had a pair of snow-white, furry fox ears, big pure eyes that flickered with light. Tilting her head, she looked at Qin Ming and said, "My dad always leaves early and comes back late."
The little girl was of the White Fox Clan, naive and lively. Her big clear eyes could reflect Qin Ming’s figure in their depths. Every time they met she called him "brother," which was quite endearing.
Qin Ming smiled and rubbed her head, asking, "You little glutton, what are you eating?"
The Little Fox Girl raised her head, lifting a piece of cake high and said, "Locust-flower cake, it’s very sweet and fragrant. Big Brother, do you want a taste?"
"Mm, you eat it yourself." Qin Ming, like performing a magic trick, took two fruits tinged with Spirit Essence out of his Storage Bracelet and handed them to her.
After living in Changgeng Village for a month, Qin Ming had blended into this place at the fastest speed.
It wasn’t long before the Little Fox Girl’s mother brought Qin Ming a plate of locust-flower cakes, inviting him to try them fresh.
"Thank you, Sister in law Bai." Qin Ming accepted with a smile and ate one on the spot, praising, "I’ve been away from home for so long, yet this lets me chew my way back to the taste of my hometown over there."
