Chapter 172: What's Wrong with Being a Little Chubby?

Yu Xian took out his phone. After allowing the potworld bubble to transmit information to the outside world, he thought for a moment and decided to contact Zhang Shou first.

While Yu Xian possessed an exceptionally powerful healing ability, it was not the case for everyone else. Mistakes were inevitable during sparring, so having Zhang Shou present would ensure that anyone injured could receive treatment immediately. Although Yu Xian also knew healing-type blood arts, their effectiveness was nowhere near Zhang Shou's.

But in the end, those were all excuses. Yu Xian simply wanted to see the dumbfounded look on his best friend's face. Super Brain made it clear that Yu Xian was currently behaving like a child who had just acquired a treehouse and could not wait to show off his secret base to his friends.

Ten minutes later, a spatial bubble transported Zhang Shou onto the beach. He stared wide-eyed at the ocean before him. "Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Salted Fish, you're saying this is your pocket dimension? Holy crap, this is incredible!"

Clumsily pulling off his shirt, he charged straight toward the sea. He leaped into the water and swam around before floating on the surface and shouting, "I heard that people in ancient times dared to swim in the ocean without worrying about being attacked by sea beasts. I've wanted to try this for ages!"

Standing on the beach, Yu Xian smiled proudly. "It wasn't that people in ancient times were unafraid of sea beasts. Sea beasts simply didn't exist back then, just like there aren't any in this ocean of mine."

Zhang Shou happily swam back and forth through the water, completing five full laps before returning to shore. He stopped near Yu Xian's lounge chair and took out a lounge chair of his own from his spatial ring. Then he placed a table beside it and set out some drinks and fruit. As if no one else were here, he changed his pants, lay back in the chair, put on a pair of sunglasses, and made himself comfortable.

"Now this is what I call living," he remarked to Yu Xian.

Yu Xian laughed. "What's so special about this? People in ancient times could enjoy it every day."

"I really envy them. They lived in such peaceful times. They could visit the beach without worrying about sea beasts and climb mountains without fearing demons."

Yu Xian took out his phone and contacted Bat. A moment later, he summoned Xiong Da, who had been staying with Bat, to the island.

Yu Xian had previously taken Xiong Da along with him to Qilin's headquarters. However, after Edward advanced to Dragon rank and a series of other events unfolded, Yu Xian did not have time to look after Xiong Da, so he had asked the resurrected Bat to care for him instead.

Now, Xiong Da was finally reunited with Yu Xian. Unexpectedly, the entire beach trembled when he was teleported onto it.

Xiong Da was now as big as a mountain. He held a jar of honey under one arm and a large stuffed pastry in the other hand. His plump face was filled with helplessness as he asked, "Boss, did you need something? There are still quite a few of your fans waiting for me."

Originally, Xiong Da had attracted almost no attention at Qilin's headquarters. But after Yu Xian became famous, everything changed. At first, people had merely gone there to see Bat, whom Yu Xian had resurrected. Unable to endure the constant attention, Bat had pushed Xiong Da into the spotlight and told everyone that he was Yu Xian's pet.

As a result, young women began showering Xiong Da with food. In just one month, he gained an entire ton of weight. His already enormous body now looked like the Pokémon Snorlax.

Originally, Xiong Da possessed at least some of a bear's natural ferocity, but after becoming this fat, he looked completely harmless. As a result, he became the mascot of Qilin's headquarters, and people fed him wherever he went. He was now having such a wonderful time that he didn't want to leave. He wished he could remain the mascot of Qilin's headquarters forever.

Yu Xian rose from his lounge chair and stared at Xiong Da, who had become almost unrecognizable. His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "You're Xiong Da? When did you turn into a pig?"

No wonder something had felt strange when he teleported Xiong Da over. The bear had become absurdly fat.

Moreover, when Yu Xian said Xiong Da resembled a pig, he was not mocking him merely for being fat. Once bears became sufficiently obese, they genuinely did resemble pigs. This was especially true of Xiong Da, whose pink nose now made him look even more like a wild boar.

Xiong Da, however, was not pleased. He stuffed the entire pastry into his mouth and retorted, "You're the pig, Boss! I'm a plump and handsome bear. All the young ladies say I'm adorable."

Zhang Shou walked over and stared at Xiong Da, who sat on the beach like a mountain of flesh. "Salted Fish, is this pig your friend?"

Yu Xian knew that Xiong Da had exceptionally sharp hearing. He merely looked into the bear's tiny eyes, which appeared even smaller beneath all his fat, and shrugged. His silence said everything.

Xiong Da angrily rose and glared at Zhang Shou with his mung-bean-sized eyes. "You're the pig! Boss, can I beat him up?"

Had Zhang Shou still possessed his former physique, Xiong Da could have insulted him for being fat as well. Unfortunately, during his previous mission with Bluebird, Zhang Shou had not only slimmed down but also developed a muscular build. He now looked like a rather sturdy young man.

Unable to retaliate based on appearances, Xiong Da could only threaten Zhang Shou with violence.

Zhang Shou arrogantly grinned. "Let's see if you can even run first."

Xiong Da sprang to his feet, sending a violent tremor through the sand. He charged toward Zhang Shou at astonishing speed and loomed over him. "I can run just fine!"

Zhang Shou stared at the mountain-like beast before him in surprise. "Holy crap, Salted Fish! Today, I finally understand what it means to charge like a wild boar."

Seeing that he had failed to intimidate Zhang Shou, Xiong Da helplessly asked, "Boss, isn't he afraid of dying?"

Yu Xian lay down and replied with a wry smile, "I suppose... he really isn't."

Xiong Da knew where to draw the line and naturally would not truly attack Zhang Shou. The problem was that Zhang Shou had grown so accustomed to dying that mere threats couldn't frighten him. Besides, Zhang Shou also possessed a ring crafted by Eternal Purity, so Xiong Da could not actually hurt him.

Zhang Shou grinned. "Brother Xiong, I really think you should lose some weight. Being this fat can't be good for your health."

Xiong Da, who towered over him, scoffed. "Believe it or not, one day you'll wish you were as fat as me."

"No chance. I worked so hard to slim down. There's no way in hell I'm gaining it back!" Zhang Shou said with absolute conviction.

Xiong Da smirked. "We'll see about that."

Zhang Shou secretly shot Yu Xian a questioning look, silently asking where Xiong Da's confidence came from. Yu Xian had no idea either, so he could only shrug. Two minutes later, however, both of them got their answers.

When Yu Xian contacted Gong Qian, both she and Bluebird happened to be free, so he teleported them over together. The moment they saw Xiong Da, they ran up to him, hugging and petting him while repeatedly exclaiming how adorable he was.

Yu Xian and Zhang Shou silently stared at the scene, stunned. Xiong Da, meanwhile, looked at Zhang Shou with a smug smile on his chubby face. Back at Qilin headquarters, he was incredibly popular with the women, and everyone praised him for being cute. So what was wrong with being a little chubby?
