New Ability Every Ten Days: Becoming a Vampire Made Me Too OP
Chapter 122: Asoniss Little Dessert
Chapter 122: Asonis's Little Dessert
The one-armed Supreme Martial Zombie King was pinned beneath the giant serpent's claw. Blazing flames rapidly burned away the zombie. In the blink of an eye, its armor turned to ash, followed by its crimson skin, and then its muscles.
However, the Supreme Martial Zombie King had not lost its ability to move. It clenched its remaining hand into a fist and kept striking the giant serpent's claw. But the claw was made entirely of flames and immune to physical attacks, and corpse miasma also could not harm it. So, all of the Supreme Martial Zombie King's attacks were futile. That only made the scene seem somewhat tragic.
Zhang Shou snapped out of his shock. His heart ached, as though he were witnessing a hero in his final twilight. But his tone changed pretty rapidly.
"It's over, it's over. Even a real man can't beat it. How about we run for it?" He immediately wanted to oil the soles of his feet and flee.
Yu Xian nodded. "Mm. I'll send you back first. See you later!"
Zhang Shou's eyes widened. "Wait—"
He had just opened his mouth, wanting to ask why Yu Xian was not going back with him, but before he could finish, Yu Xian teleported him back to the Blue Planet.
Yu Xian had chosen to stay behind because he did not believe the Supreme Martial Zombie King would lose. The giant serpent's attributes panel showed its lifespan as zero. And the giant serpent was not a zombie that had died long ago. So, it was definitely destined to die today. The one most likely to kill it here was the Supreme Martial Zombie King.
Yu Xian wondered if the Supreme Martial Zombie King was holding back a hidden trick up his sleeve. Otherwise, he could not see any chance of it turning things around. Every punch it threw carried tremendous force, yet it was blindingly obvious that its efforts were completely in vain.
The giant serpent swept its other claw toward the Supreme Martial Zombie King's head. The sharp claw instantly severed the head. Then, it cut off all of the zombie's remaining limbs.
Finally, it raised its head and looked in Yu Xian's direction. However, it ignored him. From beginning to end, its target had never been Yu Xian, the vampire, but Zhang Shou, the living human. To it, Yu Xian was the same as a zombie.
Yu Xian saw the emotion in the giant serpent's eyes. He had originally been about to teleport away, but he could not help pausing. Is it... disappointed?
The giant serpent turned around and prepared to leave, clearly having lost all interest in everything here. However, before it could extinguish the flames on its body, the sky abruptly darkened.
Since the dark clouds had scattered, the entire land was now exposed before the Abyss. At some unknown point, a monster so enormous that its size was impossible to measure had appeared on the unimaginably distant far shore, silently watching this world.
Yu Xian could not make out its full appearance. When he instinctively looked up, his eyes began to bleed. Amidst the blurriness, he could only make out a pair of exaggerated, oversized horns and a body seemingly covered in strange golden sigils. The moment his gaze landed on one of those sigils, his vision went black and his eyes ruptured.
The monster reached down and casually pinched the fleeing giant serpent between two fingers, as though it were nothing more than an ordinary earthworm. The giant serpent frantically struggled, conjuring the flames into a massive sword that slashed at the monster's arm, but it failed to leave even the slightest mark. Instead, its struggles only caused the two fingers gripping it to tighten. It immediately spat out a mouthful of blood and went limp.
By the time Yu Xian's eyes regenerated, the world had returned to silence once more. Only the countless spiderweb-like cracks across the ground, the dismembered Supreme Martial Zombie King, and the sky that had grown even more broken remained, silently telling the story of everything that had happened.
Yu Xian glanced up. The devil had already disappeared, but fear lingered within his heart, and he also felt a wave of unease. "Asonis. Those sigils are part of its name. Whoever can recite its full name in its entirety can summon it and guide it to the world where the reciter is located."
A portion of information had entered his mind when he saw those sigils, letting him know that the sigils meant "Asonis." However, that was only one segment of its name. Since he did not learn the full name, he could only temporarily refer to that devil as "Asonis."
Moreover, he had somehow gained an ability. As long as he recited "Asonis," he could intimidate and command all devils below Dragon-rank. However, he had no intention of using this ability. After all, the ability had come to him under suspicious circumstances. He felt that if he used it, his connection to Asonis would become deeper. It could even cause him to encounter Asonis again someday in the future.
Yu Xian landed on the ground and slowly walked over to the Supreme Martial Zombie King's severed arm, his feelings somewhat complicated. "I never thought the giant serpent would actually die at the hands of a devil. I thought the Supreme Martial Zombie King would be able to turn things around."
The severed arm was still tightly gripping the blood-colored greatsword. Yu Xian covered the greatsword with the Dragon Shield core's red energy. The next moment, it transferred from the Supreme Martial Zombie King's hand into Yu Xian's.
Yu Xian grabbed the hilt, but his expression immediately changed. He quickly let go of it. When the greatsword fell to the ground, the earth shook violently. This sword weighed more than a hundred tons, and he did not have enough strength to wield it. Fortunately, he had been quick to let go. Otherwise, he would have been dragged down and slammed into the ground along with it.
Yu Xian looked at the greatsword and cast Appraisal.
Heaven-Mourning Sword
Rank
- God Rank
Ability
- When fed with blood, it comprehensively strengthens the wielder. The more blood it drinks, the greater the enhancement becomes. If it is fed with the wielder's blood, both its effect and duration are doubled.
Summary
- The final divine sword forged in this world as its last guardian. Yet in the end, it failed to protect anything, leaving behind only blood and tears.
The sword's ability was simple and crude, but astonishingly powerful. Unfortunately, the Supreme Martial Zombie King's blood had long since run dry, so it was unable to unleash the sword's true power.
Yu Xian bent down and gripped the sword's hilt. Then, he cut open his finger and dripped his blood onto the blade. The Heaven-Mourning Sword immediately emitted a faint red glow and rapidly absorbed the blood. A tremendous force entered Yu Xian through the hilt, and he easily picked up the sword.
At that moment, he felt an illusion that he could cut down the giant serpent with a single slash. He raised the sword and lightly swung it at the ground. Sword qi instantly carved a crack into the earth.
A trace of shock appeared on his face. A divine artifact, huh. It truly lives up to that. It increased my power at least twentyfold. Incredible!
This twentyfold increase was not limited to strength alone. It was an all-around enhancement, be it in speed, defense, or reaction.
He felt as if the entire world had become tiny, while he himself had become a giant, as though he could destroy this fragile world with the slightest movement. Of course, Super Brain constantly reminded him that all of this was merely an illusion caused by the rapid increase in his power.
Even with a twentyfold increase in strength, he would have stood no chance against the giant serpent. In fact, he would not even have been a match for the Supreme Martial Zombie King.
But this feeling really is incredible!
Yu Xian suppressed the urge to let out a long howl and just wildly swung the greatsword. Everywhere he passed, he left the ground covered in scars.
Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. His gaze fell on a pool of blood on the ground. The blood had not seeped into the soil. It had gathered on the surface, emitting a faint glow like a jewel.
This is the blood the giant serpent spat out when Asonis injured it!
