Necromancer: I Am A Disaster
Chapter 905: What A Polite Senior
Curiosity swept through the crowd, eager to go up and ask Lin Moyu questions.
Before anyone could reach him, however, a tower-shaped ship materialized before him.
He stepped inside, and the ship instantly transformed into a bolt of lightning, vanishing without a trace.
"He left!"
"A 1st tier Transcendent God with his own flying ship? His background must be extraordinary."
"Judging by its speed, that flying ship is at least at the True God-grade. There's definitely a True God elder backing him."
"Maybe he's from one of the great families."
The crowd buzzed with speculation, their curiosity about Lin Moyu only growing.
Gu Yuanming remained silent, but inwardly he was anything but calm.
He had recognized both the Thunderclap Tower, the Godslaying Fortress.
"That was a Godslaying Fortress, a military battle fortress."
"How could something like that appear here?"
"Could this young man have a military background?"
"No wonder he had shown no fear earlier. With a Godslaying Fortress protecting him, the Star Essence Fire posed virtually no threat."
Having already reaped tremendous rewards from this trip, Lin Moyu had no intention of lingering in the star system.
The disturbance he had caused was significant enough. If he stayed any longer, he would inevitably be surrounded by curious onlookers and bombarded with endless questions.
Piloting the Godslaying Fortress, he headed toward the teleportation formations outside the star system.
His eyes remained closed as his thoughts lingered on the law star river he had just witnessed.
The law star river was incomparably dazzling—vast, magnificent, and awe-inspiring.
In comparison, his law of undeath was merely a tiny tributary branching from that immense law star river.
Only by fully mastering this tributary could he truly enter the law star river proper.
In other words, the power he currently wielded was only a superficial fragment of the true law.
He was still far from becoming a genuine powerhouse.
Transcendent God, True God, God King. God Sovereign...
The greater world maintained an unyielding hierarchy, with each realm separated by an enormous gulf.
Every breakthrough brought about a heaven-shaking transformation in strength.
Yet Lin Moyu's ambitions stretched even beyond the God Sovereign realm. He knew he had to work even harder.
Upon reaching the teleportation formations, he spent another point to return to Vermilion Bird Inhabited Planet 98-1.
The Mission Center was just as crowded as ever, though it felt livelier than its counterpart within the Human Emperor Network.
Like many important facilities in the greater world, the real Mission Center employed spatial formations.
Although it appeared modest from the outside, its interior was astonishingly vast.
It was Lin Moyu's first visit to the real Mission Center, and he found it almost identical to the one in the Human Emperor Network, which faithfully replicated reality on a one-to-one scale.
Even so, he noticed several differences.
The real Mission Center contained private rooms where people could directly access the Human Emperor Network after accepting missions, allowing them to complete missions without leaving the building.
There were also staff members stationed throughout the center, as certain missions required manual verification.
On the eastern side of the center was a lounge where many people relaxed over tea, exchanging stories and insights from their recent missions.
Despite the large number of people, the Mission Center was remarkably quiet.
Conversations were kept low, and the atmosphere was so peaceful that one could clearly hear their own footsteps.
It reminded Lin Moyu of the libraries from his previous life—everyone immersed in their own work while remaining considerate of those around them.
It was an atmosphere he found quite pleasant.
He made his way to the central service counters, where more than a dozen staff members handled mission-related matters.
Some people were currently submitting their missions, so Lin Moyu waited patiently for his turn.
After watching the process once, he had already grasped the entire procedure.
Eight staff members were seated in a circular arrangement, each responsible for a separate counter.
Lin Moyu deliberately joined one particular queue.
The reason was rather amusing.
The staff member's name was Lin Xiaoyu.
Only a single character distinguished her name from his own.
Lin Xiaoyu appeared to be in her early twenties. She had delicate features and greeted everyone with a warm, gentle smile.
Her cultivation was not particularly high. By the standards of the small world, she had yet to reach level 90.
Even so, if she were placed in the small world, she would already be considered an exceptional genius.
In the greater world, however, she was merely average.
Anyone below the Transcendent God realm was regarded as an ordinary person.
Although cultivators were plentiful throughout the greater world, ordinary people were even more numerous. Not everyone possessed the talent to become a Transcendent God.
Strictly speaking, the overwhelming majority of the human race consisted of ordinary people.
For example, within the Vermilion Bird Star System No. 98 where Lin Moyu currently resided, there were three inhabited planets.
Most Transcendent Gods lived and cultivated on Planet 98-1, which possessed the most complete cultivation facilities.
Planets 98-2 and 98-3, by contrast, were primarily inhabited by ordinary people.
They lived ordinary lives, clearly separate from the cultivators.
That said, there were points of intersection. Staff members at the Mission Center and similar institutions were often recruited from ordinary people with decent aptitude, allowing them to come into contact with cultivators at an early stage.
This also helped them adapt more easily if they later entered the cultivation world.
In fact, many prominent families deliberately sent their younger generation to work various jobs so they could gain experience early on.
Soon, it was Lin Moyu's turn.
As he stepped up to the counter, a strand of law descended from above and enveloped him.
It carried no hostility; it merely verified his identity.
This was the real world, not the Human Emperor Network.
Identity verification was always the first step.
A formation atop the Mission Center was connected directly to the Human Emperor Network, allowing Lin Moyu's information to synchronize automatically.
When Lin Xiaoyu noticed they shared a similar surname, her smile became even brighter, "Hello, Senior Lin. Which mission are you here to turn in?"
"The Starfire Metal mission from the Vermilion Bird Uninhabited Star System No. 000128."
As soon as Lin Moyu spoke, Lin Xiaoyu had already retrieved the mission details.
"I've pulled up your mission. You'll need to submit at least ten catties of Starfire Metal to complete it."
Lin Moyu nodded and produced a fist-sized piece of Starfire Metal.
It weighed just over ten catties.
After verifying it with a Detection spell and confirming its weight, Lin Xiaoyu completed a few final procedures.
Smiling brightly, she said, "Congratulations, Senior. Your mission has been completed."
"You can check your points now. They should already have been credited."
Lin Moyu checked immediately.
The points had indeed been transferred.
[Points: 1246 (1250)]
Before accepting the mission, he had 1,148 points.
The round-trip teleportation had cost 2 points, while the mission rewarded 100.
That left him with a total of 1,246 points.
The number in parentheses, 1,250, represented the cumulative points he had earned through missions.
This number in parentheses determined whether his authority level could be upgraded.
It was unrelated to the number of points he currently possessed or had already spent.
Even if he spent every point, his eligibility for an authority upgrade would remain unchanged.
Unfortunately, he was still far from reaching level 3 authority.
Even assuming every mission awarded 100 points, he would still need to complete dozens more before qualifying.
"Thank you." After expressing his thanks, Lin Moyu turned and left.
Lin Xiaoyu's smile grew even brighter, "Take care, Senior!"
After he was gone, she murmured softly to herself, "What a polite senior..."
