Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Senjutsu

After a moment of thought, Uchiha Xuan agreed to Slug Sage’s proposal regarding Charizard and the others. Ever since drawing them, they had either stayed in the Mist Space or by his side.

Now, having a new place to go wasn’t a bad thing. Moreover, if Charizard and the others were to master Senjutsu, having Slug Sage guide them would undoubtedly be much better.

"Leave these three little ones to me. I will teach them Senjutsu well. In them, I sense the future path of Senjutsu. That is also why I wanted them to join Shikkotsu Forest. Xiao Xuan, thank you for allowing them to learn Senjutsu with me."

Slug Sage spoke softly with gratitude. From the moment she first saw Charizard, she had foreseen something. The ability of foresight was not exclusive to that old toad among the sages.

It was just that the three great holy lands held different attitudes toward the Ninja World, hence their different manifestations.

"Is that so? Perhaps in the future, it won’t just be these three. I may need Slug Sage’s help again."

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Xuan nodded thoughtfully, then spoke with a smile.

As long as he had enough Card Draw Counts, the number of Pokémon would surely continue to increase. There might even be other summoning Cards added, such as Digimon, or the spirits from "Seer" and "Rock Kingdom."

"Huh? Are they from Gardevoir and Gengar’s clans? No problem, leave it to me. Then, Xiao Xuan, please sign your name here."

Slug Sage was slightly taken aback. She turned to look at Gardevoir, then at Gengar, before seeming to realize something. She opened her mouth and spat out a massive scroll, unfurling it before Uchiha Xuan.

This was the Summoning Scroll of Shikkotsu Forest. Without hesitation, Uchiha Xuan signed his name on the Summoning Scroll and pressed his handprint onto it.

....

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I’ve been completely drained by you now. Since you’ve signed the Summoning Contract with Shikkotsu Forest, you can now use those Medical Ninjutsu that originally required Slug Sage’s cooperation."

Seeing Uchiha Xuan sign the Summoning Contract, Tsunade crossed her arms and stood before Charizard, closely observing the Sealing Formula on its body as she spoke softly.

Beside her, Uchiha Xuan also watched Charizard.

At this moment, Charizard was absorbing Natural Energy with all its might, aided by Slug Sage.

In the Ninja World, Natural Energy was not as dense as within the holy lands, making it suitable for Charizard and the others to absorb and seal into themselves for the first time.

In response to Tsunade’s teasing, Uchiha Xuan remained silent, his gaze fixed intently on Charizard as it gathered Natural Energy. If there were any signs of petrification on Charizard’s body, he would immediately retrieve the Immortal Totem for its use.

Fortunately, however, Charizard’s absorption of Natural Energy progressed more smoothly than anticipated. In Uchiha Xuan’s perception, Charizard’s power was slowly increasing. Even with the Sharingan’s microscopic vision, Uchiha Xuan noticed that Charizard’s size had grown slightly larger once again.

Although this slight increase in size was extremely subtle, it could not escape the observation of the Sharingan.

"It’s a success, little Tsunade~ Your turn now."

"Spirit-Locking Seal, seal!"

The Slug Sage attached to Charizard’s back spoke softly, and Tsunade, standing nearby, immediately formed hand seals and pointed a finger at Charizard’s chest.

In the next moment, the sealing formula on Charizard’s body seemed to come alive, rapidly contracting to the spot where Tsunade’s finger had touched. In the end, it formed a tiny sealing totem.

"Roar!!"

As the seal was completed, the flame on Charizard’s tail suddenly flared up, and Charizard let out a draconic roar.

"That should do it. For the next few days, little Charizard will have to work hard with me to practice using natural energy. Once Charizard can master natural energy on its own, we can undo this seal."

Following Charizard’s roar, the Slug Sage detached from Charizard’s back, crawled to the ground, and spoke gently.

"Gardevoir~"

"Gengar~"

"Roar."

With the seal completed, Gardevoir and Gengar, who had been waiting nearby, immediately gathered around.

Both Pokémon looked at Charizard with curiosity. What Charizard had just experienced, they would soon undergo as well.

"Finally finished with all that work. Thank you for your hard work, Lord Slug."

Watching the three Pokémon and one slug gathered together and chatting, Tsunade stretched and spoke with a smile.

"You’re welcome. I’m honored to guide them in learning Senjutsu."

The Slug Sage gently shook its head, raised its body, and spoke softly. After saying this, the Slug Sage turned back to continue chatting with Charizard and the others.

It seemed that differences in species did not hinder their ability to communicate.

"That’s wonderful. Lord Slug now has juniors to chat with. Oh, right, I almost forgot the main business while dealing with Charizard’s matter.

Xuan, we need to leave this place. Orochimaru has sent an urgent report. We both need to head to the Land of Rain to provide support.

Hanzo of the Salamander’s poison has developed new variations. The antidotes we prepared before are now completely ineffective. Moreover, according to Orochimaru, Hanzo of the Salamander is likely preparing to launch a final all-out attack."

Looking at the Slug Sage chatting leisurely with Charizard and the others, a smile appeared on Tsunade’s face. After all, she knew that Shikkotsu Forest was home to only the Slug Sage alone. In many ways, the Slug Sage was actually quite lonely.

As she watched, Tsunade suddenly remembered the urgent report she had just received and immediately turned to look at Uchiha Xuan, speaking in a serious tone.

Regarding the Land of Wind, ever since Uchiha Xuan killed Rasa, the Hidden Sand Village had halted large-scale offensives and shifted to small-team infiltration tactics.

It wasn’t hard to see that the deaths of the Kazekage’s disciple and Chiyo’s descendant had lowered the morale of the Hidden Sand Village to an extremely low level.

Therefore, during this period, Uchiha Xuan had been quite idle. Apart from carrying out assigned missions, he spent his time with Tsunade treating patients and saving lives in the medical department.

The rest of his time was devoted to continuously studying the various techniques left behind by the nefarious Senju Tobirama.

Among them, the Flying Thunder God Technique was an absolute priority.

For some unclear reason, after that Card Draw experience, Uchiha Xuan’s mastery of the Flying Thunder God Technique had entered a phase of rapid improvement.

Uchiha Xuan attributed this to the Spider-Sense he had acquired. Though he didn’t understand the principle behind it, it was the only ability that seemed even remotely related to learning capability.

In just a few months, Uchiha Xuan had achieved a preliminary grasp of the Flying Thunder God Technique. While he was still unable to redirect enemy attacks, he could now perform simple spatial jumps with ease.
