Naruto-The secret sage

Pain

(Nagato POV)

My decision to send the six paths of pain to attack Konoha was based in several facts. The first was that the Nine tails Jinchuriki was hidden away and needed to be drawn out. The second was that according to “Madara” and Zetsu Konoha was going to be the biggest place of resistance when we choose to enact the eye of the moon plan. The third was because Konoha was responsible for the death of Yahiko and my parents. While Danzo who was responsible for the ambush Hanzo set that claimed Yahiko’s life was killed it didn’t change the fact he belonged to Konoha.-

I did not relish the loss of innocent life my attack on the village brought but it was a necessary blow to strike. Using almighty push to such a degree through the Deva path Pain drew a heavy toll on my already frail body and made me caught up blood but the desired effect was achieved as the vast majority of Konoha was killed in an instant, crushed under the pressure. The power of the barrier around the village came as a slight surprise and cost me much more than I had anticipated to break through but my goal was achieved in the end and now I just had to wait for the Jinchuriki to arrive.

Or so I thought until I felt an incredible amount of power erupt from the outskirts of the destroyed village.

‘What is this pressure? This is not the power of a tailed beast yet the very air feels is stifling.’ I thought in surprise.

Even more to my surprise the Fifth Hokage who had survived and climbed out of the rubble seemed the most horrified at this pressure as though she recognized it.

‘What monster has Konoha been keeping secret this whole time?’ I thought mildly curious as all of the paths gathered in the center of the crater the Deva path created.

I didn’t need to wait long to find out as I watched a figure float through the air over the village carried by what appeared to be black sand. A boy with a tall and powerful physique and long shaggy black hair and a pair of eyes that made my real body shudder to look at. I recognized that look on his face, a look of pure apoplectic wrath being barely contained.

“Do you hate me? Can you understand pain now?” I asked through the Deva path avatar as the boy glared down at the Pains.

“Hate? Why should I feel hate for the dead?” The boy said coldly.

I immediately reacted and used an almighty push towards him as all six sets of Rinnegan caught his arming moving so fast it seemed to distort space itself. To my horror my almighty push was resisted and even pushed back slightly from the pressure. The boy looked on without expression and clapped his hands together.-

My true bodies eyes widened as the feeling the boy gave off not only intensified but seemed to pass a certain threshold and vanish despite the danger signals I was getting exploding. Dark colored marks manifested on the boys face and arms and not even the six Rinnegan pairs caught what happened next as all of the avatars were destroyed simultaneously. I gasped in shock and jerked in place at this sudden disconnect.-

“Nagato? Did something happen?” Konan asked concerned from her position nearby.

“The Pains… they are gone.” I said with my voice barely above a whisper from the sheer shock I was in.

“WHAT!?” she exclaimed in horror before composing herself “Was it the Jinchuriki?” she asked seriously.

“No it was…. something else.” I said honestly not sure what I had faced, only that it was too powerful.

We didn’t get to speak further however as that massive pressure slammed down upon our location and I felt the icy gaze of that thing fall upon us. I barely had time to unleash an almighty push to protect us before a massive force ripped apart the hiding place we were and exposed us to the light of day and more importantly the cold gaze of that being.-

“Who are you and why are you attacking us!?” Konan demanded while summoning her paper defensively.

“That is what destroyed the Pains.” I said and her eyes narrowed in shock and horror.

“Six thousand eight hundred and fifty two.” the being said coldly.

“What?” Konan said confused and the being explained though I wished it hadn’t.

“The number of people killed when you attacked Konoha. Six thousand eight hundred and fifty two. Of that amount I will only be able to revive half that number without doing irreparable damage to my own lifeforce. The Rinnegan is said to be able to restore the dead to life so I will give you only one chance to do so before I kill you.” the being said staring me right in the eyes and entirely ignoring Konan.

“Not if I kill you first!” she yelled and a wave of her paper shoots from her and slams into the being.

I knew it was pointless however as I could sense the being had not moved a centimeter and was still locking it’s gaze upon me. I was proven correct when Konan’s attack cleared up and the being didn’t have a single scratch on it.-

The being raise a single finger pointed at Konan and I could only watch helplessly as a straight line from it’s finger to Konan froze and she was instantly frozen solid, dead before she could even realize it.

“Before I die can you tell me why nobody knows you exist?” I asked resigned to die by this things hands.

“I was living peacefully. Despite all my power I wanted nothing to do with the matters of politics or war. But you, you had to come and kill so many and level the whole village. Why?” the being said with an emotion I knew all too well, pain, not of the body but the heart.
