Naruto: Lost to Hinata on Purpose, and Now Everything's a Mess
Chapter 291 : The Legendary Man
Sasuke looked at Tsunade, unsure whether she had already met up with Riku. No one knew exactly when things had started between Riku and Tsunade—even in the future, the details remained a mystery.
So Sasuke simply claimed that the four of them were traveling performers from another village.
In truth, he had no idea where Riku was in this time and space.
Shinrai and Tsukiko stared at Tsunade, tears welling in their eyes.
Ever since they were born, they’d heard countless legends about their father and mother—but they were just that: legends.
They had only known their father through photographs.
And the stories of their parents recorded in Konoha’s extensive history books.
Shinrai stood tall, with a commanding presence, and Tsukiko bore the distinctive diamond-shaped mark of the Hundred Healings on her forehead.
This mark was one of the key things that confirmed Tsunade’s suspicions about their origins.
Because the Hundred Healings technique had been developed by Mito Uzumaki and passed down only to a select few—Riku, Tsunade, and Sakura—there was no one else in the shinobi world who should possess it.
So the fact that both of these strangers bore the mark meant one thing: they weren’t from this era.
And their appearances were too close to be coincidence. Shinrai had black hair like Riku, while Tsukiko had blond hair like Tsunade. They were almost exact replicas.
Not to mention—when they first saw her, both of them had instinctively called her "Mother."
At this point, Tsunade had already pieced it all together.
Sakura hadn’t caught on yet. She was genuinely confused and didn’t understand what was going on.
She had never witnessed anything that hinted at time travel.
Tsunade turned to the four and said, "You’re strangers to Konoha. According to protocol, someone needs to keep an eye on you. Sakura, you’ll be in charge of watching them—at least until Riku returns."
Sakura froze.
"Me?" she asked, pointing to herself.
Tsunade nodded.
She didn’t sense any threat from the group. Based on her suspicions, they were Sasuke and the others from the future. Sakura would be enough to keep an eye on them.
And even though she suspected that Shinrai and Tsukiko were her children, Tsunade didn’t openly acknowledge it. Riku had warned her not to form too many ties with people from the future, lest it alter the timeline in dangerous ways.
But still—seeing that their children were alive, healthy, and thriving gave her peace of mind.
When Tsunade had mentioned Riku’s name, Shinrai and Tsukiko had both reacted visibly.
Their father—whom they only knew through a few photos and records—was practically a myth in Konoha’s history.
And though he was no longer part of the village’s present, his legend still loomed large.
Both of them idolized their parents. In the historical records, their deeds seemed godlike.
Especially Riku—the man who was said to have surpassed even the Ōtsutsuki clan.
Though they’d only read about it, Shinrai and Tsukiko could feel the weight of that legacy.
Sakura, too, couldn’t help but feel uneasy. The more she looked at Shinrai and Tsukiko, the more they reminded her of Tsunade and Riku—only younger.
After her brief conversation with them, Tsunade took her leave. Shinrai and Tsukiko watched her until she disappeared down the street.
Sakura eyed them suspiciously. The resemblance was uncanny.
And the knot of unease in her stomach only tightened.
But she said nothing.
She just wandered the village with them, taking them around quietly.
Back in the Hokage office, Tsunade leaned back in her chair, gazing at the sky outside the window. A faint smile formed on her lips.
"I never imagined our children would look so much like us... they’ve even inherited our height."
Tsunade remembered how Riku had already been 1.75 meters tall when he was just 12 or 13.
Shinrai and Tsukiko looked around Boruto’s age but were already taller than him—around 1.7 meters.
And judging by their chakra levels, they had definitely inherited Riku’s immense reserves, along with the Hundred Healings seal.
Tsunade chuckled. "I wonder if they inherited Riku’s Wood Style—or my monstrous strength."
At this point, Riku had no idea that his future children had traveled to the past.
But Shinrai and Tsukiko had, in fact, inherited nearly all of Riku’s traits—except for his limitless physical regeneration.
Both had Sage Bodies and were born with latent Six Paths power. Even more remarkably, they’d awakened the Sharingan at birth.
Though they hadn’t yet reached the level of the Rinnegan, both had fully matured Three Tomoe Sharingan.
And with just that, they could already manifest Mangekyō-level Susanoo.
Their power was terrifying.
They had also inherited Tsunade’s monstrous strength.
Thanks to their Sage Body, their chakra reserves were immense. While they didn’t rival the Nine Tails, they were on par with the other tailed beasts.
Shinrai had mastered many of Riku’s elemental techniques, especially Lightning Style. Tsukiko, on the other hand, had developed top-tier medical ninjutsu—matching the level of future Sakura.
Since birth, they had been geniuses.
Even though Riku and Tsunade were no longer around, Shinrai and Tsukiko had grown up well—thanks in large part to the guidance of Naruto, Kakashi, and especially Kakashi.
He had been the one to raise them after their parents were gone.
As they grew, Shinrai became Sasuke’s disciple, and Tsukiko trained under Sakura.
So Shinrai inherited Sharingan techniques and combat knowledge from both Kakashi and Sasuke, while also learning medical ninjutsu and the Hundred Healings technique from Sakura.
In fact, they hadn’t just been supported by Konoha in the future. Shinobi from Sunagakure, Kirigakure, and even Iwagakure had offered guidance.
They had learned countless techniques and inherited Riku’s remarkable ability to master any jutsu quickly.
At just twelve years old, they were already Kage-level.
Monsters in every sense of the word.
This time, it had been a mission that brought them here. Since Shinrai was Sasuke’s student, he had followed Sasuke in pursuit of Urashiki Ōtsutsuki through a fully activated time-space rift.
Tsukiko had been part of a team working on archaeological research when she was pulled through as well, ending up traveling alongside Shinrai.
After Tsunade’s departure, the four made their way to a barbecue restaurant.
Tsukiko leaned toward her brother and whispered, "Brother, Mom is so beautiful... and she really fits the title of Hokage. She has such presence."
Shinrai smiled. "Tsukiko, stay calm. We can’t reveal who we are yet. We haven’t even met our father. From the photos, I already look just like him. And I’ve heard Dad was... kind of a beast."
Tsukiko giggled with excitement.
Even though their arrival in this timeline had been an accident, both of them felt incredibly lucky. If not for this, they might never have gotten the chance to meet their parents in person.
Sasuke, meanwhile, glanced at Sakura and frowned.
He was worried too.
