Naruto : Akatsuki Bizzare Strategist!
Chapter 596: Hinata Keeps Passing Out
What an exhilarating shitshow.
Literally.
The sky above the Hyūga compound had been dyed yellow by the setting sun—or perhaps by something else entirely.
One of Naruto's shadow clones returned to his real body carrying the Flying Raijin formula Minato had placed on it, while somewhere else, Namikaze Minato successfully completed the transfer.
This was one area where Flying Raijin: Guiding Thunder was even more terrifying than Kamui.
Kamui had a throughput limit. If the object being absorbed was too large, it had to be sucked in and released gradually.
Flying Raijin: Guiding Thunder had no such restriction.
The technique could teleport an enormous Tailed Beast Bomb whole.
Moving the entire contents of a septic tank was effortless by comparison.
The Hyūga clansmen had been closing in on fox-like Naruto, fully prepared to continue bullying him, when an enormous quantity of foul sludge suddenly began surging out around him.
Every last one of them turned pale.
Nobody even bothered retrieving what they had dropped earlier.
They simply ran.
Naruto, meanwhile, stood on top of the rising waves with Water Walking, watching the fleeing Hyūga with a deeply satisfied smile.
He had done it.
He had successfully stopped the bullying.
"Hinata, stop fighting!"
High above them, Kushina shouted across the battlefield.
"Just smell the air! You've killed so many people that the bodies are starting to stink!"
"…Lady Hokage."
Hinata's Tenseigan Chakra Mode was visibly flickering, her body swaying unsteadily in midair.
Weakly, she pointed downward.
"You should probably look below you first."
Something she had just seen seemed to have struck her so deeply that her power itself was beginning to fade.
"Hm?"
Kushina lowered her gaze.
Her fully transformed golden Nine-Tails was standing with its lower body immersed in the filth below.
The smell she had noticed wasn't coming from corpses at all.
It was coming from whatever had flooded the Hyūga compound.
Kushina stared.
"Did your clan's sewer system back up?"
No.
That made no sense either.
There was far too much!
Even if every Hyūga suddenly started eating like an Akimichi, they still couldn't possibly produce this much.
Faced with Kushina's baffled question, Hinata finally lost consciousness.
Her Tenseigan Chakra Mode collapsed completely, and she began falling straight toward the ground—
Well.
Calling it "ground" was no longer entirely accurate.
At least she probably wouldn't die from the fall.
There was plenty of liquid below to break her landing.
"Nee-sama!"
Hanabi's face went pale.
"She's a complete germaphobe! If she falls into that and wakes up afterward, she'll definitely kill herself!"
Hanabi immediately sprinted across the rooftop and launched herself into the air.
She caught the falling Hinata at the last possible moment, then barely managed to land on another roof without slipping off the edge.
"Hanabi…"
Hinata slowly opened her eyes in her sister's arms.
Her face was deathly pale.
"Nee-sama, what happened to you?"
Hanabi anxiously checked her over.
"Are you injured? But I didn't see Lady Hokage actually hit you!"
"Hanabi, stop looking."
Hinata lay quietly in her arms.
"I'm not injured."
"It's because of the Tenseigan…"
"The Tenseigan?"
"That's right."
Hinata stared up at the sky.
"The Tenseigan is the Hyūga clan's eye that reflects the strength of the heart."
"The stronger your will, the more power the Tenseigan can produce."
"And right now, I…"
Hinata didn't finish.
She simply continued staring upward in silence.
And no, she wasn't looking at the sky because she was feeling melancholy.
It was simply the only direction she could look without seeing the Hyūga compound, which had now become a glittering sea of gold.
Apparently, the Engraved Tsukuyomi version of the Tenseigan had somehow incorporated the same principle as the real shinobi world's Sword of Nunoboko.
The Sword of Nunoboko was a weapon of the heart.
The stronger and more unwavering its wielder's will, the harder the sword became to break.
In the original story, Obito's resolve had wavered, causing the sword to shatter.
That was why people later joked about the hypothetical top-tier version of Obito whose will never faltered.
Hinata was currently experiencing almost exactly the same problem.
Her mentality had completely collapsed.
She had already been furious when she saw the Hyūga gathering around Naruto below, and she desperately wanted to intervene.
Kushina, having no idea what was really happening, kept blocking her.
Then Naruto somehow summoned an unbelievable flood of filth out of nowhere.
Had Naruto signed a summoning contract with the public sewer system?
As Hanabi had said, this world's Hinata was an extreme germaphobe.
The moment she saw that scene, despair overwhelmed her.
Her will shattered.
And with it, Tenseigan Chakra Mode collapsed.
"Hinata, are you okay?!"
Naruto suddenly leapt over from a nearby rooftop and asked anxiously.
"…"
Hinata looked at him.
Her eyes rolled back—
Not that it was especially obvious with the Byakugan—
And she fainted again.
"Huh?"
Naruto scratched his head.
"Why does Hinata still faint so easily?"
Aside from the enormous difference in strength, Engraved Tsukuyomi Hinata somehow seemed exactly like the real one.
"She fainted because of you."
Kushina walked over with a blank expression.
"Naruto, go wash yourself properly."
"Then you and I are going to settle accounts."
Naruto stiffened.
"As for the state of the Hyūga compound, I know who caused this."
Kushina's tone remained completely calm.
"And since that person values his life, I'm sure he'll come help clean it up soon enough."
She turned toward Hanabi.
"Bring your sister. You're coming with me."
…
Half an hour later, every major participant in the incident had gathered inside the Hokage's office.
Well—
Hinata and Hanabi had been allowed to sit on the sofa because Hinata was still weak.
"I'm clean! I'm back!"
Fresh from his bath, Naruto cheerfully entered while waving one arm.
Thud.
Hinata instinctively turned toward the voice.
Then immediately fainted again.
"Huh?!"
Naruto stared at her.
"But I washed!"
He sniffed his own clothes.
"There's no smell anymore!"
"See, Mom? I told you before, it wasn't because I smelled bad that Hinata fainted!"
"Address me by my title while I'm working!"
Kushina glared at him.
"Plant."
"…"
Kushina stared at him in silence.
"Naruto, maybe you should use Transformation Jutsu."
Hanabi gave him a resentful look.
"Nee-sama now associates your yellow hair with what happened earlier."
"Every time she sees it, she remembers the whole scene and passes out."
"Huh?"
Naruto blinked.
"That's seriously the reason?"
With no better option, he activated Transformation Jutsu.
A moment later, Naruto had transformed into Sasuke.
He quietly moved to one side.
Kushina's eyes immediately narrowed.
Interesting.
Naruto had supposedly already cleared himself of all suspicion regarding bond-type tendencies thanks to the dog incident.
And yet the instant he needed another appearance, he had transformed into Sasuke without even thinking about it.
Suspicious.
Very suspicious.
Still, that could wait.
There were already several confirmed bond-type suspects in front of her who needed to be dealt with first.
Kushina turned toward Guy, Kakashi, Lee, and Neji.
"All four of you claimed you were framed."
"And you said you had evidence?"
"Yes, Lady Hokage."
Kakashi nodded solemnly.
"The truth is, all of us simply like small animals."
"The bond-type image was only something we used as camouflage."
Guy nodded vigorously.
"That's right, Lady Hokage!"
"And there's something else we need to report."
"Orochimaru appeared in Konoha, and we even fought him!"
"I already knew Orochimaru was in Konoha."
Kushina tapped one finger against her desk.
"And the Third Hokage sealed both of Orochimaru's arms at the cost of his own life."
Her eyes swept across them.
"Surely you noticed that when you fought him?"
"Of course we did."
Kakashi immediately reached into his pocket.
"We recorded the entire battle, Lady Hokage."
"This is our combat record."
He stepped forward and placed a video camera on the desk.
Obviously, this was another piece of equipment Kakashi had originally brought along to record their earlier chaos.
Which raised one obvious question—
What exactly had happened after everyone else left?
