Myths Reawakened

Chapter 494 (2): Holy Mother Cathedral

Soon, the Queen learned that her heart was racing not because she was disloyal to her ex-boyfriend, but because of her bloodline. It made sense for her heart to race for the mysterious man.

“This is Viceroy of Heaven, Seraph, He Who Is Like God, the right hand of the divine throne, Śār Mikhael.” Reza lowered his voice. “That isn’t something others should be privy to, Your Majesty, so keep it to yourself.”

Mikhael huffed, blaming Reza for running his mouth. He also nodded and put on a nonchalant expression like he didn’t care about his reputation.

Sophelia’s heart pounded and raced. The Windsor family’s bloodline originated from Saint George, Mikhael’s identity in the mortal realm. In other words, this angel was her ancestor.

Reza had spoken so ‘quietly’ that, in addition to Sophelia, most of the important members of the reception had heard him.

Juno’s eyes widened. She knelt and bowed to the angel like her mother had done, her heart in her throat. She worried for her ‘little brother’.

The strongest angel—He Who Is Like God—had descended. The Lord of Deceit didn’t stand much of a chance. Would today be the day he was banished to Hell?

Sophelia looked excited as she bowed, but when she rose to her feet, she felt a little anxious. She wondered between the great demon lord and He Who Is Like God, which would triumph. Mikhael’s long string of titles should make it clear that the never-defeated angel would remain undefeated. There was a ninety-nine percent chance that the Lord of Deceit would lose.

With the descent of our forefather, the royal family will return to power!

Although you’ve birthed a talented son, Silvia, you don’t have a good ancestor. When our ancestor descended to the human world, he had already suffered for the next dozen generations of the Windsor family. We can only go up from here.

“Head to the Lando family,” Mikhael said.

He had no interest in the Windsor family. What did the descendants of ‘Mikhael’ have to do with him? They were nothing but extras to him.

Sophelia grew increasingly excited. Before leading the way, she said, “Lord Viceroy, Auston, the current head of the Lando family, does not know about Hell and demons. Please spare him when you erase the Lord of Deceit. There are many innocent people in Londan who have been dragged into the mess, but they are incapable of extracting themselves.”

Mikhael looked at Sophelia coldly. “What are you talking about? There is no de—Deceit in Londan. I came here to visit the Holy Mother and draft the new Sacred Tome.”

“???” xN

What do you mean? Why can’t I understand you? xN

Mikhael wasn’t going to waste his breath explaining to them since that would reflect badly on his authority. Instead, he headed straight to the black luxury sedan parked outside the airport.

“Your Majesty, the Lando heir is the Anointed One,” Reza whispered. “He’s entered Heaven and become the master of all angels, Viceroy Mikhael included.”

“I cannot utter the Anointed One’s name, but you should know who he is, and his mother is the esteemed Holy Mother. Her name will be put in the Sacred Tome.”

Moreover, all Holy Mother Cathedrals across the Chosen Land would need a name change and an additional statue.

Crack!

Sophelia felt as if something in her had shattered physically. Her face blanched, and her eyes dimmed. She murmured that she had lost her son, that someone else had become pregnant with him. And she mourned the loss of the cathedrals that would have been named Holy Mother Sophelia.

“Your Majesty?!” Reza called out in a low voice. He wondered why Sophelia looked lifeless like the walking dead.

“Mother has been like this for a while. This way, Your Holiness, Śār.”

Juno supported a mentally broken Sophelia with determination. Go if you must, Mother. I will finish your unfinished business for you.

At that moment, Juno found a renewed desire to get intimate with her younger brother. You should’ve said that you’re the Anointed One. Then not just my fiancé, I’ll even give my mother to you. Why did you keep me in the dark?!

She felt deeply regretful. As she helped her mother into one of the cars and joined her, she felt time tick away slowly. She had never realized how far the Lando Estate was from the airport.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t enter.

The delegation of the Papal State had locked down the estate, prohibiting the cars carrying the royal family members from entering. Guarding the entrance was a line of the Papal State’s elite knights, all Legendary-ranked. Juno didn’t dare fight her way in, so she could only watch from the outside.

Inside the car, Sophelia bawled so hard that she almost fainted. Listening closely, one would hear her uncharacteristically cursing out, blaming her bastard father for her misfortune.

Inside the main house of the estate, Auston stood at the window of the study with his silver coin between his fingers, looking down at the uninvited visitors. Their impressive aura made him anxious. He imagined a fight and concluded that the consequences would be dire.

He might be able to escape, but the trio of magical girls at the young lady’s mansion wouldn’t fare well. When Reza and Mikhael showed up, he gave up on even drawing Twilight Despair. They were too strong. The blond man in the middle of the group, especially, was so powerful that he felt despair.

The man’s haughty look made him seem like a god in the human world!

Auston had never met anyone that powerful. Not even his prided heir had ever given him such pressure.

“Master.”

Sensing his unease, Megan went up and asked him what to do with a silent look.

What else? They’ll be the ones doing anything!

Auston sighed. Trash Jr. said that he was going to Heaven, but then he attracted such formidable enemies to their doorstep. Auston saw no chance of winning even if he took on pain with no regard for his own safety.

Anxious, he could only put aside his shame and pray for Trash Jr.’s speedy return.

To his surprise, the formidable enemies were courteous. After getting out of the cars, they stayed outside the door, as if waiting for the master of the house to grant them entrance.

“Megan, follow me downstairs and have the guests move to the reception room.”

Auston frowned. He hoped that he had worried for nothing, that the newcomers weren’t enemies, and Wayne had sent them to scare him after securing a significant position in Heaven.

It was wishful thinking. He smiled wryly. He remembered Trash Jr. saying that he wasn’t the Anointed One in the prophecy.

“Has he been exposed as a fake...?”

Reception Room.

Auston sat in the main seat and fiddled with his silver coin, Megan standing behind him. Though the posturing wouldn’t intimidate a formidable enemy, it would at least allow him to meet death with dignity.

“Mr. Auston, I’m Pontiff Reza from the Papal State. It’s an honor to be in your presence.” Reza stood beside Mikhael rather than taking a seat. After bowing in greeting, he said, “This is Viceroy of Heaven... blah, blah, blah... right hand of the divine throne, Sir Mikhael.”

“We’re visiting today for the Holy Mother. Please forgive us for disturbing the peace of your estate.”

“???” x2

Megan felt like her brain was fried. Auston’s eyes twitched as his hands trembled. Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself and said, “Is Wayne truly the Anointed One?”

“Indeed. The Anointed One has entered Heaven, taking the divine throne. He re-established the Seven Sacred Virtues and bestowed new life upon us.” Reza’s visible passion was thirty percent acting and seventy percent genuine feelings. “According to the Anointed One, as he’s become Heaven’s new master, the human world should reflect the change. The Sacred Tome of the old era is falling behind. It needs to be revised...”

“Viceroy Mikhael descended at his order to visit the Holy Mother and collect information for the new revision. We hope that the Holy Mother will tell us about the divinity shown by the Anointed One since youth.”

You’ve come for the right person!

Auston relaxed. He shook his head, wanting to explain that the Lando family didn’t have a son, that the proven adopted daughter was actually his and Silvia’s only daughter, but he swallowed those words.

“Mr. Auston?”

“If I tell you that the Anointed One was born an orphan, would you believe me?”

Yes! x2

“Mr. Auston, the Anointed One must have a biological mother,” Reza said. “He was born a human and had become a god after his resurrection. As he has borne the sins for humanity, he needs a mother.”

In this study, everyone other than Megan was a scumbag with a high intelligence. Reza’s vague words and pointed looks were enough for Auston to come to a realization.

The Sacred Tome was a novel, starring the Anointed One whose name was Wayne. The story was completely made up.

“Do you need to hear it from the Holy Mother?”

Auston frowned. He knew his unhinged wife and her imagination well. She was a genius when she was jealous and trying to find signs of infidelity, but in all other scenarios... she was average at best.

It wouldn’t be ideal to have her provide writing materials for the novel.

“It must be the Holy Mother.” Mikhael looked ahead without focusing on Auston. His thinking was just like Hesione’s. Why are you making so much trouble as a mere adoptive father? The Anointed One already bears your surname, Lando. Are you not satisfied?

“Fine. I understand.” Auston massaged his temple, saying to Megan, “Call Mistress Silvia’s office and tell her that we have guests at home. Her good son has sent people to take her to Heaven for retirement.”

Megan nodded, disappearing at the door.

Twenty minutes later, an argument happened at the front entrance of the estate. It turned out that a female driver had blocked the door to stop Silvia’s car from entering. Since the driver held quite a considerable status in Londan, the members of the Order of Holy Light hesitated to use force. She ended up being moved aside along with her car.

She got out and tried to stop Silvia again, but her daughter knocked her out.

Anyway, Silvia walked into the reception room with an air of joy, beaming at the two esteemed guests.

Reza bowed at her. Even Mikhael lowered his prideful head.

“Are you really the Pontiff of the Church of Heavenly Father?” Silvia marveled. “I’m a High Reverend of the Church of Nature, a heretic to you. Is it really appropriate for you to bow to me?”

“The Church of Nature...” Mikhael narrowed his eyes slightly. “You shouldn’t stoop so low as to work for the Church of Nature. It’ll bring dishonor to the Anointed One and Heaven. I’ll meet up with the Pope of the Church of Nature. If he knows what’s good for him—”

“Ahem.” Silvia blinked her clear eyes, her lips curved. “The Pope is Senna, my master and an elegant, educated lady.”

“So?” Mikhael dismissed it. “I’m Mikhael, Viceroy of Heaven and He Who Is Like God!”

“My master is Wayne’s lover.”

“...” x2

Mikhael fell silent. His trembling hand slammed into the table, cracking it and banishing it to Hell.

It was difficult! It was so difficult to paint the Anointed One in a positive light and revise the Sacred Tome. He couldn’t just make up stories without any basis in reality!
