Mythical Three Kingdoms
Chapter 2345 - 2078: Not All Here
After Guo Jia entered the venue, the others couldn’t wait any longer. This was almost like a signal from those early wave of elders. Immediately, Zhang Fei, Hua Xiong, and others grabbed wine jars and had their subordinates carry gift boxes, rushing towards Fa Zheng.
"Xiaoo Zhi, there’s no need to say much between us. Let’s drink!" Zhang Fei dominantly shoved a jar of wine directly to Fa Zheng, and then he, Hua Xiong, and Zang Ba each picked up a jar of wine, "The three of us toast to you!"
After saying this, Zhang Fei, Hua Xiong, and Zang Ba all had mischievous smiles on their faces. As Fa Zheng’s face twitched, they chugged down all the wine with a glugging sound, then looked at Fa Zheng with a mischievous smile.
Fa Zheng’s face twitched as he struggled to lift the wine jar. He silently cursed Zhang Fei in his heart while pouring the wine into his mouth. After a long period, Fa Zheng finished the entire jar.
"Good, that’s a true man! I personally caught a wild horse that has achieved Qi Refining to Gang and brought it for you," Zhang Fei said with a broad smile, lightly patting Fa Zheng on the shoulder.
With that pat, Fa Zheng, who was already dizzy from the drink, almost couldn’t stand firm. "Just wait, in a few days I’ll bring over a wine vat and invite you!"
"Come, come, if you knock out, I lose!" Zhang Fei laughed heartily, then walked away towards the Fa family with Hua Xiong and Zang Ba.
On another side, Lub Su cleaned his ears and blew on his fingers, "They’re all skipping their shifts, ah, ah, ah, sooner or later I’ll show them my prowess. Today’s Xiaoo Zhi’s wedding ceremony, and I almost pulled an all-nighter. Sooner or later, I’m going to teach them a lesson!"
"Xiaoo Zhi, it seems like you’re pretty drunk. I won’t make it hard for you," Liu Yan slid over while Sunx Qian, Mi Zhu, Ma Chao, and others entered. Fa Zheng was starting to sway, and Liu Yan said with a chuckle, "Just one cup."
Fa Zheng wobbled, reaching out to grab the wine cup, but didn’t manage to grab one. "Hey, why are there so many wine cups?" After feeling around, he finally grabbed hold of a wine cup and foolishly smiled at Liu Yan.
"Xiaoo Zhi, bottoms up!" Liu Yan laughed mischievously, then drank a cup with Fa Zheng, instantly clearing Fa Zheng’s mind.
"Xiaoo Zhi, you sneaky guy!" Liu Yan scolded sternly seeing Fa Zheng’s face flush red as if about to spout fire, noticing his eyes weren’t hazy at all, realizing he’d been playing along before.
"Don’t shout!" Fa Zheng hurriedly covered Liu Yan’s mouth, "What did you let me drink? It went straight down like fire."
"I distilled it several times; it’s much stronger than regular medical alcohol. Come on, come on, it’s the Great Elegance from Liu Jingsheng, let’s go!" Liu Yan said as he brought out the Great Elegance he tricked from Liu Biao back in the day, filled a double portion; this kind of two-jin cup of liquor was immensely pressuring for Fa Zheng.
"Weishuo, spare me, look how I am now." Fa Zheng tightened his Coronation Robe, his belly protruding, "I still have to go through the ceremony later, spare me."
"How about this, I’ll use the Great Elegance, and you use the Small Elegance. If you pretended to be drunk earlier, I’ll just act like I didn’t notice," Liu Yan offered, lifting his glass, laughing at Fa Zheng. In truth, it was just for teasing Fa Zheng, as Liu Yan didn’t really intend to make it too hard for him.
"Alright, alright, considering how we started as commoners and became marquises this day of joy, cheers!" Though Fa Zheng wasn’t entirely drunk, he was getting excited. Liu Yan saying he’d use the Great Elegance while Fa Zheng used Small Elegance didn’t seem like a loss to Fa Zheng. He lifted his cup and downed it entirely.
At that moment, Liu Yan’s face almost scrunched up like a chrysanthemum. Then he trembled as he lifted the Great Elegance, gulped down nearly two jin of alcohol, and began to feel dizzy.
"Gahaha, Weishuo, are you okay?" Fa Zheng chuckled foolishly, while Liu Yan was dizzy, struggling to walk towards Fa Zheng’s home, acknowledging that he didn’t pull off the act well enough this time...
"Xiaoo Zhi, brother, I’m here to see you!" Taishi Ci came over holding something covered with yellow silk, followed by Mi Fang and Xu Sheng.
"Ziyi, long time no see." By this time Fa Zheng was truly drunk, and his entire smile seemed rather silly.
"Clash!" Taishi Ci pulled away the yellow silk, and the golden light made Fa Zheng’s eyes nearly dazzled.
Upon closer inspection, he found an abstract artwork made entirely of pure gold as tall as a person appeared before him. Although its shape didn’t resemble Fa Zheng much, there was a certain divine charm that allowed anyone who saw the glimmering sculpture’s face to know it was Fa Zheng.
"This is a gift from me, Xingba, and Zifang for you. How is it? I molded it from gold with my bare hands without using a single external tool. Look, see, my fingerprints are everywhere on it," Taishi Ci remarked proudly. "Doesn’t it capture your aura well?"
Though Fa Zheng was quite tipsy at this point, he could still discern the likeness, especially since that touch of divine charm genuinely represented his state well.
"Impressive!" Fa Zheng gave a thumbs-up with an expression of admiration.
"As long as you like it, drink!" Taishi Ci laughed heartily, "Xingba couldn’t make it due to some matters, so I’ll drink on his behalf this time!"
Taishi Ci downed two bowls at once. By this time, Fa Zheng was truly drunk, laughing wildly as he raised the wine bowl to toast with Taishi Ci, no longer attempting to maintain the demeanor of the Feudal Lords. The youthful flamboyance within him was fully displayed.
"Hey, Xiaoo Zhi." As Chen Xi arrived, Fa Zheng, reeked of alcohol, with eyes drowsy, swaying where he stood. Seeing the arrival of Chen Xi by carriage, he immediately started foolishly grinning.
"How did you end up like this, who started pouring drinks for you so early!" Chen Xi said puzzled, "I drew a picture for you, come on, have a look, does it look like?"
Chen Xi cheerfully opened the framed painting, Fa Zheng was startled, and decisively used his spiritual capacity to clear away the smell of alcohol, "You actually know how to paint, and you can paint like this?"
"Of course, did you think I was joking? By the way, you weren’t pretending to be drunk to fool others, were you?" Chen Xi looked at Fa Zheng, who had sobered up instantly, and said with an unconvinced expression.
"You have no idea how those guys made me drink. I think I’ve had over ten pounds today, I’m about to explode. If it weren’t for my spiritual capacity keeping my mind clear, I would have collapsed here long ago. But are you sure this is your painting? It really does look like him." Fa Zheng clicked his tongue in wonder.
"Gong Youu and the others are here too?" Chen Xi asked, "As long as it looks like him, that’s good."
"Yes, they’re all here, just waiting on Zijing and the others. But Zijing might still be working overtime... oh, he’s here." Fa Zheng said with a smile, having already seen Lub Su’s carriage.
"Are you guys talking about me being still at work?" Lub Su’s servant carried the gift box forward, while Lub Su came up unhappily and said.
"No way!" Chen Xi chuckled and turned his head.
"Not a bad painting, it does look quite a bit like Xiaoo Zhi. But you’re right, I was still working overtime beforehand. You guys are a bunch of bastards!" Lub Su’s eyes exploded with some kind of malicious intent.
"Zijing, capable people work harder, you’re the most capable among us." Chen Xi tilted his head toward the sky, "Speaking of which, you’re not going to work overtime on your wedding day, are you?"
Lub Su frowned, "If I don’t finish that day, none of you dare to leave!"
"Come, have a drink." Fa Zheng poured a glass of wine for each of them.
"Xiaoo Zhi, how much have you drunk, why do you smell like alcohol all over?" Lub Su asked while drinking.
"Probably ten pounds by now, but that’s no big deal." Fa Zheng downed his drink in one gulp, "After all, I drank with everyone else, and I can’t not drink with you guys."
When Chen Xi and Lub Su came in, a group of people were gathered there chattering away. This gathering could be considered one of the rare occasions for Liu Bei’s subordinates in recent years.
"Brother-in-law, don’t hold me back, I want to beat him up!" Ma Chao, being pulled back by Zhao Yun, was still trying to reach Zang Feii, while Zang Feii kept provoking Ma Chao.
"Come on, let’s not use Inner Qi today and see who can beat whom!" Zang Feii laughed heartily.
"Alright, alright, Yide, stop bullying people, he can’t beat you." Taishi Ci said helplessly, pulling Zang Feii back, and Zang Feii felt a wave of power from Taishi Ci, showing a strange look in his eyes.
"I haven’t seen that much increase in Ziyi’s strength for a few years, why not transfer over to our Land Forces?" Zang Feii chuckled and wrapped his big arm around Taishi Ci.
"Oh no, I’ve got ten Seventh Generation Ships ready for launch, I think the Navy suits me better." Taishi Ci said with a smile, "But Yide, you’ve gotten a lot stronger these past years too."
"This is our Navy’s newly trained general, Xu Wenxiang." Taishi Ci patted Xu Sheng’s shoulder and introduced him to Zang Feii.
"Not bad. Speaking of which, this wave of people is quite complete. It’s just a pity that Second Brother, Xingba, and Xianhe couldn’t make it." Zang Feii and the others looked Xu Sheng up and down; achieving Inner Qi Separation in his twenties was impressive, with a bright future ahead.
"Gong Youu, how’s the recent road construction going?" Compared to the lively atmosphere among the military generals, the civil servants were much quieter, mostly discussing their recent activities.
"With those hundreds of thousands of obedient prisoners, the progress has been much faster. By the way, how did you do it? These prisoners are particularly obedient." Sunx Qian said with an excited expression, "At this rate, I’ll have the main road done in a few more months."
"Heh heh..." Li Youu holding a teapot, tilted his head and let out a cold laugh. He had to admit that using this method was indeed effective.
"But it’s been a while since we last saw Xianhe." Mi Zhu looked around, noticing the absence of Jian Yong, and asked with a hint of curiosity.
"Xianhe, huh, I wonder what’s going on in Rome now." Chen Xi picked up the conversation, with a thoughtful look on his face.
Meanwhile, in the Roman bathhouse, Jian Yong couldn’t help sneezing. In his view, Rome was actually a pretty decent place, with a good climate and hydraulic transportation system, and those genuine Romans were somewhat similar to the Chinese in some ways.
It’s just that their clothing looked somewhat like the Hu People. As for civilization, there’s not much to say; while they do have their barbaric aspects, they also possess a wisdom that’s quite similar in many ways.
