Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God
Chapter 316 - 317: Reconstruction
Chapter 316: Chapter 317: Reconstruction
The pressure disappeared.
It didn’t fade slowly or leave behind some grand sense of doom. It just backed off, like a hand that had been pressing against her mind finally letting go.
The true Paragon stood still and said nothing.
She had gotten the message.
A moment ago, she had seriously considered taking Runar’s soul core. Not in some vague, passing thought, but in a real calculation. She had looked at the twin Supreme Principles inside him and thought about devouring them. The moment that thought formed, she had been slammed by a will so heavy that even she felt death looking at her.
She wasn’t stupid enough to try again.
The soul core floated quietly in the center of the space. Golden-white light pulsed from it in a steady rhythm. Inside it, Absolute Comprehension and Origin Weave sat openly, no longer half-formed or unstable. They were complete. Anyone with enough perception could see that much.
The true Paragon could see it too.
She just wished she had understood the situation better before trying anything.
Inside the soul core, Runar was fully awake.
He didn’t feel panicked. He didn’t feel weakened either. Losing his body had been strange, but it wasn’t the kind of loss that made him emotional. Absolute Comprehension showed him exactly what had happened, why it had happened, and what he needed to do next.
His old body had done its job. It had carried him through the Reliquary, through suppression, and through the birth of two Supreme Principles. But that was also the problem. It had been built for a version of him that no longer existed.
If he tried to rebuild the same vessel, he would just create another limit for himself.
So he didn’t.
*No point going backward,* Runar thought. *If I need a body, I’ll make one that actually fits.*
Origin Weave responded the moment the decision settled.
The leftover energy from his earlier absorption was still hanging around the personal space, and it responded to him almost immediately. Streams of multicolored light turned toward the soul core and started moving in controlled patterns. None of it was chaotic anymore. Earlier, the absorption had been violent because he was still growing. Now he was building.
Absolute Comprehension handled the design.
It checked everything. Energy density. Structural balance. Compatibility with the twin principles. The way space would interact with the body. The way time would pass through it. The way laws would bend around it. Every possible flaw was caught before it became a real flaw.
Runes began forming around the soul core.
They weren’t normal runes. They weren’t copied from the Rune Sovereign’s system or the Ancient Will’s trial language. They were the new ones that had been born from his two Supreme Principles, and they moved like they had their own logic. Some connected into circuits. Some folded into tiny spatial frames. Others sank into the forming body and became part of its foundation.
A humanoid outline slowly appeared.
It looked human at first glance, but that was mostly because Runar was used to that shape. The body itself wasn’t flesh. It wasn’t pure energy either. It was a mix.
Part information-life-form.
Part runic construct.
Part conceptual structure.
The skeleton was made of compressed runic law. The meridians were information channels. The outer layer was a flexible conceptual shell that could adapt to different environments without losing its shape. The whole thing was built to carry Supreme Principles without falling apart under the strain.
The true Paragon watched the body take shape and didn’t interrupt.
She had seen a lot of bodies being forged in her life. Some were made from divine materials. Some were grown from bloodlines. Some were refined through centuries of cultivation. This was different. Runar wasn’t forging a body like a craftsman making a weapon. He was writing one into existence.
That alone made her cautious.
Then she noticed the first side effect.
The laws around him became easier to read.
It was subtle at first. The spatial fabric of her personal space, which she already understood deeply, suddenly looked a little clearer. A few connections between local principles became more obvious. Some structures that usually required active perception became visible on their own.
She frowned slightly.
At first, she thought she was imagining it. Then she checked again and realized she wasn’t.
"What the hell?"
The incomplete body was passively leaking comprehension into the surrounding space. Absolute Comprehension wasn’t doing it on purpose. It was just what happened when something understood reality that well. Nearby laws became more readable simply because Runar existed close to them.
That was unsettling.
It was also useful.
She looked at one of her own spatial principles and noticed a small gap she had never paid attention to before. It wasn’t a weakness, exactly. It was more like a spot she had always ignored because she assumed it was already optimized. Now, under the influence of Runar’s passive comprehension, she could see that there was still room to refine it.
That annoyed her a little.
She had been at the peak of the Multiverse for a very long time. She didn’t usually get new insights just by standing near someone else. The fact that she was getting them from a person who hadn’t even finished rebuilding his body was hard to ignore.
But she didn’t move away.
If anything, she stayed still and paid closer attention.
A moment later, she noticed a second effect.
Her principles felt heavier.
Not much. Just enough for her to notice. When she shifted a small thread of her authority, it responded a little slower than usual. There was no resistance, no attack, and no hostile intent. It was just... less obedient.
She tested it again.
Same result.
Her power still worked, but it had to pass through a space that Runar’s comprehension had already touched. That space now partially recognized him. Because of that, her principles had to move through something that wasn’t entirely neutral anymore.
For the first time in a very long while, her power didn’t respond perfectly just because another being was nearby.
She didn’t like it.
She also didn’t do anything about it. Not like she could in the first place.
Leaving would have solved the problem, but leaving also meant losing access to what was happening in front of her. The benefits were real. The danger was real. Both of them mattered, and she wasn’t going to ignore either one.
Runar kept working.
The reconstruction picked up speed.
Energy flowed into the forming body in steady streams. The runes spread across it in clean, organized lines. The information channels stabilized. The conceptual shell tightened. Piece by piece, the vessel stopped looking like a rough outline and started looking like something that could actually exist in the real world.
Then Runar did the important part.
He wove the twin Supreme Principles directly into the foundation of the body.
Absolute Comprehension settled into the core of the vessel like a guiding system. Origin Weave spread through the runic circuits like an active engine. The two principles weren’t just placed inside the body. They became part of how the body worked. From that point on, the vessel and the principles would grow together.
The pressure coming from the incomplete body increased.
It still wasn’t aggressive. It just became more noticeable. The space around Runar began to stabilize on its own. The cracks the Paragon had reinforced earlier sealed up without her needing to keep pushing power into them. The personal domain, which had been strained by his absorption, started adjusting to him instead of resisting him.
The true Paragon noticed that too.
She had spent her own power keeping the space stable. Now the space was starting to support him naturally. That meant his new body was becoming part of the local order, whether she liked it or not.
Her clone, standing nearby, finally spoke.
"Should we prepare something?"
The true Paragon didn’t look away from Runar.
"No."
The clone paused. "Even if the space destabilizes again?"
"It won’t."
The clone glanced at the forming body. "You sound sure."
"I’m not sure," the true Paragon said. "I’m observant."
The clone didn’t ask anything else.
The soul core moved then.
It drifted forward and settled into the center of the forming body, right where a heart would have been. The moment it took its place, the entire vessel pulsed once. The runes brightened. The information channels synced. The twin Supreme Principles resonated together, and the body became more solid.
It still wasn’t finished.
Runar could feel that. The structure was close, but the final stabilization hadn’t arrived yet. There was still one more step before the body became complete.
He didn’t rush.
The true Paragon watched the pulse and stayed silent.
She had brought him here as a prize. A vessel. A chance to claim the Rune Sovereign’s legacy and maybe push herself closer to Transcendence. Now she wasn’t so sure she had captured anything at all.
The thing forming in front of her wasn’t a treasure.
It wasn’t even just a genius anymore.
It was something in the middle of becoming.
And it was already dangerous enough that she had to think twice before having a single greedy thought.
The golden-white light around the body brightened again.
The runes pulsed in rhythm.
The twin Supreme Principles resonated.
And the reconstruction reached the final stage before completion.
