My Yandere Wives Keep Making Me Stronger

Chapter 136: The Last Battle For The Day

  • Next Chapter

The assessment continued with the 11th Group’s second battle. Both students gave it their all, but it ended in a draw for this moment.

The battle continued with the 12th and 13th groups.

The two last groups were hot, as the students in these groups were mostly from notable backgrounds. The Phoenix Princess, someone from the titan race, the Demon Prince, and some from the spirit race, which was rare.

All of the battles except one ended in a draw. Limited time was the cause of the draws. But the battles were insane, not letting down their identity.

The Phoenix Princess stepped into the arena, her hair blazing like living fire, her eyes burning gold. Every step she took left faint scorch marks on the stone. Her opponent, a titan with skin like cracked granite, didn’t flinch. He just cracked his knuckles and waited.

The clash was brutal. Fire met stone. The titan’s runes glowed with earthy brown light, hardening his already tough hide. The Phoenix Princess responded with a rune of her own, a blazing circle of orange and red that spun so fast it looked like a miniature sun.

They traded blows for minutes. The arena shook with every impact. Steam and sparks filled the air. The students watched, barely breathing, as the two powerhouses tore into each other.

But time ran out. The timer flickered red, and Sylas called the match. A draw.

The Phoenix Princess scowled, flames licking at her shoulders. The titan just grunted and walked off. Neither was happy, but neither had lost.

The next battle was the Demon Prince against a spirit race girl. She was thin and pale, almost translucent, her eyes glowing with a soft blue light. The Demon Prince was tall and dark, with horns curling from his temples and a tail whipping behind him. His presence alone made the students in the front row shiver.

The spirit girl didn’t flinch. She raised her hand, and a pale blue rune appeared before her. Mist swirled around her, thick and cold. The Demon Prince responded with a dark crimson rune, black flames licking at its edges.

They clashed. Mist against fire. Spirit against demon. The battle was fast and vicious. The spirit girl phased through attacks that should have hit her. The Demon Prince roared and unleashed waves of dark fire that made the air itself feel heavy.

But again, time ran out. Another draw.

The students murmured. This was getting frustrating. So many draws. So many battles left unfinished.

But the one battle that didn’t end in a draw was the last one.

A dragon princess against a Volkoid. The dragon princess was tall and proud, her scales gleaming like molten gold. Her wings folded against her back, and her eyes burned with ancient fire. The Volkoid was tall, lean, and unnervingly calm. His skin was pale, almost silver, and his eyes were dark, hollow pits that seemed to swallow light.

The students leaned forward. A dragon against a Volkoid. This was going to be interesting.

The dragon princess didn’t waste time. She unleashed a torrent of fire that melted the stone floor. The Volkoid raised his hand, and a rune appeared before him. It was dark, almost black, with faint silver veins running through it. The fire hit the rune and vanished, absorbed.

The dragon princess didn’t stop. She summoned a second rune, a swirling circle of wind, and launched herself into the air. She rained down fire and wind from above, a storm of elemental fury. The Volkoid moved, dodging and absorbing what he could, but the onslaught was relentless.

Then the Volkoid struck back.

He raised his hand, and his dark rune pulsed. A wave of dark energy shot toward the dragon princess. She twisted in the air, dodging it, but the wave clipped her wing. She faltered for a moment, then steadied herself.

She dove down, claws extended. The Volkoid raised his arm to block. Her claws raked across his forearm, drawing silver blood. He grunted but didn’t retreat. Instead, he grabbed her ankle and swung her into the ground.

The dragon princess hit the stone hard, cracking it. Dust and debris shot up around her. The students gasped.

But she was already moving. She rolled to her feet, fire swirling around her hands. She lunged, and they clashed again. Claw against fist. Fire against dark energy. Wind against shadow.

They traded blows for minutes. The arena shook with every impact. The dragon princess was faster, but the Volkoid was tougher. She burned him, cut him, battered him. He absorbed what he could and struck back with dark energy that made her scales dim.

But the dragon princess was relentless. She kept pressing, kept attacking. She wouldn’t give him time to recover.

Finally, she saw her opening.

The Volkoid stumbled back, his dark rune flickering. He was strong, but the dragon princess was overwhelming. She had suppressed him completely. She dove down, claws extended, and caught him across the chest. The impact sent him flying. He hit the ground hard and rolled, his rune shattering into fading embers.

He tried to rise, but his body wouldn’t cooperate. He was done.

The dragon princess landed, her wings folding against her back. She didn’t gloat. She just nodded once and walked off.

The only battle that didn’t end in a draw.

The students erupted. Finally, a decisive victory. The dragon princess had proven why her race stood above the rest.

"That’s all for today. The assessment will continue tomorrow."

Sylas’s voice resounded throughout the Coliseum. And as he said, the runes in the Coliseum glowed and the structure of the Coliseum began to change as it changed back to the classroom.

The students watched this, having their respective seats. The stone walls shifted and reformed. The arena floor smoothed out and rose, becoming rows of desks and chairs. The barrier flickered and vanished. The ceiling closed in, and the Coliseum became the familiar classroom once again.

"That should be all for today, and also it’s time for lunch. Any help you need to get to the cafeteria, your rune watch would help you. See you until tomorrow."

As Sylas said this, his figure disappeared. One moment he was there, the next he was gone, leaving nothing but a faint shimmer in the air where he had stood.

Everyone in the classroom began to move. Chairs scraped against the floor. Students rose from their seats, stretching, talking, some still buzzing from the battles they had witnessed. Others sat in silence, processing what they had seen.

Tomorrow was going to be a hell of one. Each of the students had watched each other’s matches, having faint ideas of their next opponents. And also, this didn’t settle all, as most were going to train and change tactics.

This meant tomorrow was going to be something more of a surprise and excitement.

"Darling, I am hungry." Lilith voiced out as Lucien nodded at her and smiled.

"I am hungry too, Darling." Seraphina didn’t want to be left out as she also said.

They immediately dragged him toward the cafeteria as they followed the guide on the rune watch. Ryker tagged along.

Lucien didn’t resist. He just let them pull him along, one arm in each of their grips. Lilith had his left arm, Seraphina had his right. Both of them held on tight, like they were afraid the other might steal him away.

The students watched as they left the classroom. Almost all eyes were on them as these three were the ones that surprised them all with their domineering strength reveal.

Especially the girls. They were goddesses. They were strong. They were everything a guy would wish for in a lady.

They cast envious glances at Lucien as they left the classroom. Some of the guys shook their heads, muttering under their breath. Others just stared, their expressions a mix of admiration and jealousy.

Lucien had ignored them as he was dragged. He was used to the stares by now. He didn’t care.

The academy cafeteria was located not far from the classroom. The corridor was wide and brightly lit, with runes glowing softly along the walls. Students moved aside as the trio passed, their eyes following.

The academy cafeteria provides rich and nutritious food that could help in numerous ways: refine your Originat, increase your Originat control, polish your talents, and many more.

And due to its benefits, it’s not something that is free. As new Honor students, they have the privilege of one month to enjoy all of this and can pick any varieties of what they want.

After this one month, they can only use academic credits to purchase their lunch, and the price isn’t something small.

Even though there are different varieties of food and they all have different prices, the minimum price of the food isn’t something that’s easy, especially the total of what you spend in a week.

As they entered the cafeteria, everyone who was eating paused as all eyes were on them.

The clatter of utensils stopped. Conversations died mid-sentence. Hundreds of eyes turned toward the entrance, fixed on the three figures walking in.

Lucien walked in first, flanked by Seraphina and Lilith. The two women still had their arms wrapped around his, one on each side. They moved in perfect sync, like they had been doing this their whole lives.

"Who are this trio?"
